After waiting for this buff arrogant looking guy's team to finish their expedition, Sam had to wait for the portal to open up before his team could enter.
While waiting Sam is texting his friend:
(Sam) Hey want to get some barbecue later today
(...) sorry, but I have an A rank portal to go into how about next Monday
(Sam) alright, hope nothing pops up on that day for you
"Hey, you ready?" A middle-aged man with almost fully grey hair says.
"Yeah," Sam said, putting his phone away and walking with his hunter group into the black fox portal.
After killing some black foxes, Sam's team found the king beast.
"It's best to kill all foxes in the nearby areas so if it does a call then there will be none close by," The middle-aged man said.
"Luckily this zone isn't like the one the other hunters before us went into. You know, with it being small, but same number of monsters," Sam says with a sigh.
"Of course that wouldn't happen, first of all zones being smaller or bigger than usual only happens in 1 out of 8 zones. There being the same number of monsters, or more than one king beast would only happen in 1 out of 50 zones. So, for that to happen, someone has to be extremely unlucky," A hunter with a bow said.
After killing all the wolves in the area nearby, the hunters searched for the king beast again. They found it in a cave that is slightly narrow at the entrance before it widens up further inside.
"This is not good, we are going to wait for it to leave before attacking," the middle-aged guy says with Sam and another hunter agreeing with him
"What!!! we have waited long enough after you said for us to hunt the wolves in a radius," A mage in the group says.
"First of all, these are foxes, and if we go and attack inside the cave there could be more foxes in there along with the entrance being blocked by more wolves," Sam said visibly becoming annoyed at the mage.
Unfortunately, out of the 7 hunters, the three people who wanted to stay, wasn't in the group that was formed before the hunt. That group needed to have 3 more hunters to join so they can hunt. That group decided to go in the cave anyway.
So forced to go anyway, they walked into the cave to find the fox king beast. Before a word could be said the mage throws condensed air bullets at the fox's head. After being hit, the fox quickly gets up. Sam quickly dashes in to attack the fox by adding flames to his feet before dashing at the fox. He then sides steps to dodge the bite from the king beast before hitting its side with a flame fist, sending it flying to the wall. Immediately, the fox was attacked by the archers' and the mage's skill.
The foxes weren't seriously hurt because it managed to dodge or get hit in only nonfatal spots. It quickly ran to a warrior before swiping him with a paw sending him crashing into a wall. The middle-aged man quickly went to him to heal once the fox was distracted by the tank.
That is when things got worse when regular black foxes appear from the back of the cave. Sam quickly switched to attack the foxes by kicking the air making a fire whip appear sending the foxes back injured. When Sam dealt with half of them, the king beast was seriously injured, but everyone except for Sam was tired.
That is when more foxes appeared at the front. Everyone was tired, but not injured as a result of being healed. The archers switched to attacking the foxes, but more and more foxes appeared resulting in an archer being killed. Finally, the king beast fell, now all that was left are the foxes swarming at the entrance. Sam quickly activates the pendant on his chest and instantly boost into the swarm. The pendant is a B+ beast weapons that improves fire relates ability by 30%.
Sam shoots a pillar of fire forward making an opening for the hunters to move. The middle-aged man, the archer that agreed with the middle-aged man, and the warrior in the group managed to get out of the cave. The mage and the tank were still halfway through, so Sam had to go back in to clear a path for them to leave.
Once they got out, they were surrounded again by what look like 45 foxes. As the fighting goes on the warrior and the tank dies leaving the middle-aged man, archer, Sam, and the mage. There are about 18 more foxes left now. Sam is the only one still using his ability, but he is almost out of energy. They are slowly moving to the portal while fighting when the archer dies. The middle-aged man was hitting foxes away with his spear, when he is bitten and dragged away from the portal. Sam quickly pushes the mage into the portal and runs to save the man.
The mage is out of energy making him a very weak and unskilled warrior. He would only be a liability. Sam is a nice guy that always likes to help other people. He can't stand to watch someone that he might be able to save be killed. He covers himself in flames and charges through frying any foxes in his way before he slashes the fox dragging the guy head off.
Even though the man is a healer, he is out of energy, so Sam has to carry him to the portal. After reaching it there are about 10 more foxes left. Sam raises a fire wall around the portal and helps the man through. Before he can walk through, a fox drags him back.
