Chapter 2 - Proud bachelor

Trevon's pov :

You have got to be kidding me right now. Of all the things I wanted to discuss, Hades knows this was the last item on that list.

Listening to everything coming out of his mouth was seriously irritating me.

"I've had enough of this futile argument!", I suddenly shouted.

I was very angry and definitely past being polite at this point. How could that old man do this to me?.

Don't normal people get their first child married before they start bugging the third child?.

Blaze Eros Lockheart. I can only ever blame Blaze.

Ever since my youngest brother Blaze had gotten married first by some miracle, my father had seized the opportunity to torment me every single time he got. He never let an opportunity pass by without him trying to rub it into my face that I was a bachelor.

Being a bachelor wasn't really as bad as he thought but who could convince him that being single was swell?

Here he was trying to get me to reconsider getting married when I had absolutely no intention whatsoever to do that. Getting married was tantamount to signing off your wealth and committing suicide, at least for me that was what it meant.

Don't get me wrong but I was happy for Blaze, finding Amerylla had been a real miracle for him. I mean being in love suited him. But not everyone was interested in such miraculous love lives okay?

There will be no such miracle for me, no miraculous marriage whatsoever for Trevon Romeo Lockheart.

Besides I have already declared my state of bachelorship to the entire world. Trevon Lockheart is off the marriage charts ladies and gentlemen.

"Listen to me Trevon!", my father, Howler gave me a stern look and shouted with his thunderous voice. He was angry now but id don't really care.

"Dad I'm sorry but I'm not getting married... ever!", I said in a final tone.

"I've already set you up on a blind date and you better be there Tray!", My father said again, voice harder than before.

"Dad, who the hell even goes on blind dates in this century?", I asked unbelievably.

"Trevon Romeo Lockheart!, you will go on this blind date and behave like a gentleman and that is final! And so help you if you mess this up.", he paused,

"You know what I'm capable of boy and I know you don't want to test me", he threatened.

This isn't the medieval ages for God's sake!. Wasn't this age all about finding true love and love at first sight?. I didn't believe in any of these and I never will but blind dates were a little beyond my style as well.

After my father left, I plopped myself into the seatee and sighed. Why was he trying to mess up my life?. I was more than okay with being a bachelor. Hell even Bryant and Serial, my eldest and second eldest brothers didn't have to deal with marriage. They are celebrated bachelors.

I grabbed my phone and tried to call Serial, he might know a way to help me deal with my current predicament. Unfortunately, dad wasn't a person you'd want to cross and if there was a person who knew how to push all buttons....it would be Serial.

He has a serial code for everyone and he knew how to make them succumb.

The call went unanswered and I closed my eyes briefly.

The next time I opened my eyes, it was past 7. How the hell did I sleep for 3 hours straight?.

I guess even my insomnia decided to abandon me because I have a blind date.

I groaned as I grabbed my phone and saw Serial's missed calls.

What the-?

I immediately called him back.

"Serial, I fell asleep"

"You must be really stressed Tray", he replied in his deep annoying voice.

"Yeah I have a date tonight...who am I kidding. I have a blind date in about 20minutes", I said in a bored voice.

He let out a string of annoying laughter sounds that made me want to choke him through my phone.

"It's not funny Siri....My bachelor state is currently under threat!. I don't want to end up like Blaze okay?", I said in a desperate voice.

He let out another of his annoying windshield-wiper laughter.

It will soon be your turn Serial....just wait for it.

I laughed mentally imagining dad setting Serial up on blind dates.

"Okay that is really funny. You on a blind date?. I'm sure mom set you up on this one. Who the hell goes on blind dates in this century?", Serial asked me.

"Yeah, just help me, you owe me a favour remember?",

No way am I telling him that mom had no hand in this. If he gets to know it was dad, he might never let me hear the last of it. Besides, I was very sure our grandma was in on it too.

"Okay, okay.... don't start to blackmail me with that favour you did for me last summer", he complained.

"Oh really, I freaking saved your ass  from Elena Stilinski", I added.

"Okay, okay....i get that you savsd me from that rich, bratty-obsessed girl but right now you'd have to go on that date tonight. I promise you Tray, we'll figure something out once you get back"

"Okay", I simply answered

With that, I ended the call and got ready for my blind date.

I parked my car as soon as I arrived, but I was very reluctant to go and meet my date.

My phone rang and I immediately picked it up.

"Hello Dad..."

"Tray, I forgot to tell you about....."

Everything filtered into the background when I spotted a familiar figure. She was in the parking lot and having the time of her life. The guy kissing all over her was not a familiar face though and I watched disgusting as Elena Stilinksi made out with him in the back of a Hyundai accent.

I really hope she's not my date. She better not be...
