Chapter 175 - Chapter 174

So...been a while huh? To be honest, I completely forgot I had a webnovel. I was reminded by someone of the fact I did yesterday, or was it the day before? Well, either way. I finally remembered to upload here again. But well, good news at least for you guys I suppose, I've updated a ton for my main stories.

"Regice. Gender: None. Ability: Ice Body. Height: 15'04. Weight: 2108 pounds. Attacks Known: Explosion, Icy Wind, Charge Beam, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Hammer Arm, Focus Punch, Hail, Hyper Beam, Rest, Lock On, Zap Cannon, Earthquake, Ancient Power. Data indicates Regice has no preference for short or long range combat and is proficient in both practices. Though, data does indicate Regice excels in battles of attrition."

Well, that was something already. I stared at Rotom Gauntlet whom had just relayed the abilities of my new Regice to me. I wet my lips, cocking my head to the side and nodding.

Yep, it was super lucky I jumped Regice. Beyond that whole slew of powerful attacks, if it got Hail up, it would recover passively. And then it would have rest as well. And with how tanky it was….

And Lock on was scary. As soon as it used it, its attacks would follow the target, even if they dodged like heat seeker missiles.

I shuddered at the thought of that with it using Hyper Beam. Or worse, explosion.

"Tor…!" a happy groan of relief drew my attention from my gauntlet, I looked over towards the pokemon I currently had out. We were back outside the ancient building where I caught Regice, I sat atop the stairs, while to my side Charizard rested happily and proudly, being the one to finish off Regice and all.

At the bottom of the stairs, both Exeggutor and Golem sat, Blissey between them both as she released the ethereal pink energy of Heal Pulse over their bodies.

They were already more or less, full recovered. A testament to their endurance and durability, and of course Blissey's highly potent Heal Pulse. She was very experienced with it.

She used it every day, dozens of times, multiple times a day after all. And ever since she evolved, not only had her stamina increased massively, but so too had the potency of her heal pulse.

"Doing alright lads?" I called over.

They looked over, Exeggutor gave blinks of six eyes, before just happily chanting his name, wiggling his head back and forth. He was just a happy, chill guy I suppose.

"Golem!" Golem on the other hand, flashed me a full thumbs up and beamed, eye smiles and all, big wide grin on his face.

He had been very happy ever since he woke up when I let him back out of his ball to get healed. He had taken me sending him back to the Pokemon Centre pretty hard after he lost to Surge's Alolan Golem, and threw himself into training. And it definitely showed. But mostly, he was just very proud of himself for being the one to launch the opening salvo on a legendary pokemon, and debatably, dealt the most damage.

Regice might have blocked that Brick Break, but it still took the hit. Flamethrower, Brick Break, then a point blank explosion?

He did very well.

I flashed a thumbs up back, before standing up, stretching my arms out and hopping down the stairs.

"Alright then, if you guys are good, I'll leave you out for now just in case," I said, "To be honest, I'm not really expecting any problems from Regice, Tyranitar might be another story."

"Bliss, bliss." Blissey waved her stubby hands airily, waving it off as not a problem, while Exeggutor just gave me a trio of grins.

Golem stood, nodding eagerly, while Charizard gave a rumble as he stood up from where he was laying on the stairs and stomped his way down the steps with a single nod, coming to a stop beside me and crossing his arms.

Menacingly.

Charizard was a big guy after all. No less in stature than Tyranitar, though both were a bit dwarfed by Regice.

Alright then.

In that case, I'd start with whom should be the easier of the two. I grinned, "Rotom, Regice's ball please." I said.

"Roger." Rotom replied, and a moment later the gleaming luxury ball containing my newest capture and first legendary pokemon popped into my palm.

Hmm, actually, now that I think about it. People are probably going wild again after seeing my newest addition to my trainer page.

…I think I'll not contact anyone like say, Lance or Nurse Joy unless they call me first.

Yep yep, that sounds like a plan.

I nodded at my own genies before holding the ball up, "Come on out, Regice." I said, before releasing the legendary beast within.

…Actually, that is three legendary dogs nickname right?

Oh well.

In a burst of bright silvery light, Regice's towering robust icy blue form appeared in front of us. It was covered in wounds, and there was a sickly purple glow seeping off its form from where Exeggutor poisoned it earlier.

Despite that, it stood tall.

Silent.

…Completely silent. And just stared at me, my pokemon around me tense and ready to jump into action at any moment.

The sad thing was though, that wouldn't happen at all. Because Regice? And all the Regi's actually, were more like automatons given life and their purpose, was to follow orders.

And now that I had captured it, it would just obey me and any order I gave.

I flicked my tongue over my teeth at the thought, it rankled me. The Regi as a whole, basically didn't have free will. Or at least had been used as such for so long, such a thing was just instinct to them now.

"Hey Regice, I'm Jord, and I'm your new trainer," I introduced myself, stepping forward and looking up into its six yellow dot eyes, "Nice to meet you."

It didn't move at all, but its yellow dot eyes did light up slightly, "Dododon." a humming, vibrating 'don' sound escaped it,

And that was that.

I won't lie, I'm actually a little disappointed.

I don't like that.

I don't like it at all. It was amazing to see how my pokemon expressed themselves, all their little ticks and traits.

Regice was just blank.

…Can I do something about that?

I can try I suppose.

I nodded, before turning to Blissey, "Hey girl, can you heal Regice with Aromatherapy and Heal Pulse?" I asked her.

Blissey who I noticed had an almost dismayed look upon her face at the reaction of Regice, or lack thereof, nodded and stepped forward, a determined look upon her face, "Bliss!"

It didn't take long for Blissey to completely heal Regice back to full health, and before long, his...its body was a bright shining gleaming icy blue once more, no wounds or status effects hindering it at all.

While she healed it, I tried to think of a way to help it, but, as expected, nothing came to mind in only a few minutes.

…There would no simple solution to dealing with a hundreds of years old problem. Though, I suppose at least I can start by letting it out of its ball, and ordering it to do what it wanted, or what came to mind? Follow any impulses it had?

It would be a start at least.

In that case-

With Regice healed, I returned all of my pokemon to their luxury balls, except Regice itself.

"Mind lending me a hand mate?" I asked the legendary ice type, the best place, would be asking, not ordering, and allowing for refusal, "You don't need to if you don't want to. Just that I captured a Tyranitar just before you, and need to meet him face to face outside of battle and settle things. I'd just like your help in case he attacks me."

For a few moments, Regice just stared at me blankly, and I began to get a little dismayed at the thought I really would need to order everything.

But then, slowly Regice inclined its huge ice pillar like head forward ever so slightly, "Dododon."

Well, alright then.

"Thanks mate." I pat it on its bulky icy arm, pausing as I noticed just how frigid its body felt. Odd, for how cold it was, I didn't feel any of that until I touched it. Some kind of genetic body field kind of thing that kept its body temperature locked to it, to conserve any or something, maybe?

Putting that out of mind, I had Rotom spit out Tyranitar's shiny new ball into my palm, and then, I pressed the button in the middle and released the pseudo legendary contained within.

Tyranitar appeared before me, light dying down immediately to show off his behemothic, battered form.

He blinked sluggishly, before gaining focus as he saw me, his eyes narrowing at me,, "Rrrrrrr…" he gave a grumbling roar, before wincing.

And then huffing.

And giving me an expectant look.

Well, so far so good. He hadn't launched himself at me like Dragonite did at least. I wasn't looking forward to laying out another pseudo legendary on his ass.

"Bet you won't be underestimating small opponents much anymore huh?" I couldn't help but needle him just a little bit though.

Tyranitar's eye twitched, claws flexing-

Before he breathed out fully through his nose, spreading his arms wide and way higher in height than Servine was, and then pointing at me, and smirking with a shrug.

"It was technically three on one yes," I agreed, "You're pretty strong. What if I told you though, that Servine was one of my newest pokemon and I've barely trained her?"

Tyranitar reared back as if struck.

"Yup," I grinned, "I've got far stronger pokemon than her…like this guy." I jabbed my finger over my shoulder at Regice.

Looming menacingly.

Tyrantar blinked, as if just realising Regice was actually there, before goggling and stepping back warily.

Hmm, yeah he was probably well aware of Regice huh?

"As you can see, I caught him too, it wasn't all that hard despite how incredibly strong Regice is," I boasted lightly, playing myself up, "How would you like me to make you just as strong as Regice. No, in fact, how would you like to become even stronger than he is now?"

I very much specified the 'now', because I for sure plan on Regice becoming stronger and stronger.

Tyranitar eyed Regice for a few moments, before turning to look at me sceptically.

"I mean, I caught Regice didn't I?" I shrugged in return. I didn't bother going into the fact that one on one, Regice would cream any pokemon I have right now, even Pidgeot or Altaria would lose. I can only estimate right now, but I'd say Regice while not on the level of Lance's Dragonite he started off our battle with, not that far off it either.

If I said Lance's weakest Dragonite was level two hundred and fifty, then Regice was level two hundred.

And Pidgeot would be around level ninety.

Of course levels aren't really a thing, but those are the estimates I would give them if they were.

Tyranitar eyed me dubiously for a few moments, before simply rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders and accepting.

"You're a suspicious guy huh? I respect that." I nodded, "Then since you're fine with this, pop a squat will you? I'll get those injuries of yours dealt with."

Tyranitar shrugged…before flopping down on his side in a lazy sprawl, the ground shaking as he did from his sheer weight, and propping his head up on one arm and yawning.

Well, okay then.

He was a lot more chill than my Dragonite at least.

With that said, I turned to Regice and pat his arm thankfully, "Cheers a bunch for your help big guy," I said, "It turned out you didn't need to do anything beyond stand there and look tough, but thank a bunch anyway."

Regice cocked its icy pillar head to the side as if examining me, before silently returning to its standing position and saying nothing or doing anything at all beyond that.

I withheld a sigh.

And to think, all the Regi's are going to be like this.
