Shi Su was wearing hospital room slippers. She had been hunched over for a while and hadn't quite straightened her back yet.
Their eyes met.
The man's eyes were downcast, gazing at her, making Shi Su feel as if the night outside the window was boiling and burning.
For a moment, Shi Su felt like a puppet on stage, her mind halted all thinking, and her limbs seemed weighed down by the enormous contraption around her neck, rooted in place as if petrified.
She took a deep breath, using all her strength to control her emotions and voice, and said softly, "When... did you get here..."
Jing Jihan met her gaze, his lips curved slightly due to the comical sight of her earlier and the shock in her eyes as well as her forced restraint. In the dim light of the hospital room, his eyes held a deep, dark hue.
The clean presence of Jing Jihan was right in front of her, calmly saying, "I just arrived."
