Chapter 49 - Chapter 47

"Kenzie, I don't care what you plan to do while you're there, but you need to come back in one piece." Rhonda pulled me into a hug at the airport, whispering into my ear.

"Relax, besides meeting with a couple of people over there, I'll try to stay out of danger." I tried to comfort her, but when she pulled back, her face will full of doubt. "I'll keep in touch daily, okay?" I offered and she narrowed her eyes on me before letting out a defeated sigh.

"George, Rocket!" She called to my two bodyguards behind me, and they looked confused as to why she was calling out to them, but they came forward sharing a quick look with me. "Make sure she doesn't do anything reckless, we all know how she is." Rhonda lightly chuckled but her words were clear.

"We'll do our best, after all this young lady can take care of herself just fine." Rocket returned and I tipped my head, thankful that someone believed in my skills. George shrugged his shoulder, before holding his hand out to Rhonda.

"I'll keep her in check." He agreed and I rolled my eyes before waving a quick goodbye to Rhonda, who watched me go to where we would enter into the plane, sitting in first class, despite me saying that I was able to sit anywhere.

Once we were settled on the plane, all our luggage packed, and all the small things that I needed where I could reach them when I could after we reached the elevation, I let out a sigh of relief.

"Kenzie, you do realize that the person that we're meeting is Julian." Rocket came to take the seat beside me, and I nodded, knowing that I would have to face someone that I deliberately told to stay away from me. "Also Julian's clan isn't the only one we're visiting, we're also to strike a deal with two other clans. However, they made it clear that you are supposed to meet them one on one." He grumbled and I nodded remembering their requests.

"It's going to be okay. We'll keep small talk at the minimum with Julian's clan, as for the other two, they've made it clear that they won't bring harm to me when I visit. They know that since it seems that I've taken control of our affairs, they seem to be interested in striking a deal with us because we're finally stable again." I took in a deep breath, as the pilot announced that we were going to take off.

Counting the seconds, while looking out the window, I was distracted by the awe of the land, as we ascended into the air, it was pleasant to see the curve of the globe and the blue of the ocean that reflected the pretty sunlight at it's the highest point. In the distance, I could see most of the skyscrapers of London and took a moment to grin a the thought of Jacob.

This morning I woke up to a lovely warm message, as he told me how much he loved me. It was cute and thoughtful of him, even though he found out that I was also leaving the country for a business trip. He wanted to come with me, but he had to focus on his new product line that was still skyrocketing with reviews.

His father recently stepped out of the shadows as well. He decided to pick up a couple of talk shows to speak about his business and decided to pick at Young Inc. where he mentioned how we still had nothing new put out, and the news immediately came to us for our response.

The three of us, Eli, Alex, and I, stood in front of a podium and promised that there would be a new production line and that we look forward to the competition. However, this can only be proved once Alex fesses up that he is using someone else's work, but as the stubborn man he is, it will sadly take some time.

"I book a Five-Star Hotel for you, when we arrive in New York City, it's a suite, and George and I will stay in the room across from you, just in case." He handed over a folder of the fancy hotel and

I nodded, knowing that he wanted to prepare the best quality for me.

"Anything else?" I asked, flipping through the pages, noticing how there were also three different meeting locations, one was a restaurant, with a little note that had Julian's name beside it. The other two -were meeting rooms that were rented out, and were located on opposite ends of the state.

"There is the question if we should go ahead and book a couple of restaurants that you want to visit while we're there, or will we eat the hotel?" He asked, and I handed him the folder, pulling down the blind, deciding to prepare to take a nap.

"Depends on what the situation is when we arrive." I patted his shoulder and he got me a blanket and pillow and I gratefully took a nap for the rest of the way, or at least to the next stop.

After changing flights, we were finally on our way to New York City, and this time I was focused on the scenic view from up above. Since it was now nighttime, meaning the plane was quiet, as most of the passengers were asleep, or quietly working on their devices. My eyes constantly glanced out the window, fascinated with how the cities looked from above, it looked like I was staring at a bunch of bright stars.

Rocket and George fell asleep not too long ago, their light snores were what indicated that I should let them sleep, trusting that nothing would happen during the flight.

Thinking back to when I came across Julian when he tried to attempt to rescue me from my kidnapping, about seven months ago, I remembered how he reacted to seeing that monster. Not only did he react to it like it had a high status, he feared for his life as well.

'Pureblood vampire?' I thought, grabbing my journal to write down a couple of things that I decided to recall at this moment. 'Have I already meet the Pure blood Vampire?' I asked myself circling how some of the recent events led up to my answer.

'Will Julian help me find answers?' I thought, closing the journal, stuffing it back into my bag at my feet. Falling back to sleep for the remaining of the flight, meeting a surprise when we entered into the fancy city.

*** Third Person POV

"Sir, there is news about Her arrival." A young man who was trying to keep his fear hidden, as he stared at the feet of the vampire leading the clan. currently he was holding a win glass in his hand, except what was in that cup, wasn't wine, rather it was blood. Fresh blood -from his recent victim.

"'Her?' Do you mean that Mackenzie Young is entering into our lands?" Julian twirled the wine glass in his hand, fascinated with how the red liquid stained the glass. The young man nodded his head, careful to keep his heartbeat calm despite the hearing the tone of dissatisfaction in Julian's voice.

"Yes Sir. Word has it that she'll arrive to the airport in two hours." He announced and Julian nodded his head, letting out a tired sigh.

"Have a couple of guards to greet her peacefully, showing her to her destination. We have to treat her with utmost respect since His Majesty has made it clear that, if anyone harms her while she is away then they can bet that they won't see another day." Julian let out a light chuckle, before rising from his seat, walking up to the trembling man. "I'll leave the responsibility in your hands." He leaned over and whispered into the man's ear.

"Yes Sir, I'll make sure when she arrives that she will have our top security." He put his hand over his heart, vowing to his statement. Julian let out an amused chuckle before leaving the meeting room, which his wine glass of blood in his hand, smirking when he heard the man drop to his knees.

At a different time the other clan leaders met up together, vowing that they wouldn't try to go after each other while they were both meeting the Great Mackenzie Young, that they've heard much about.

"Charles, do you think that she'll live up to the praises that have been muttered by plenty?" An older man in his late sixties, with short salt and pepper hair asked, the younger man -who was half of his age.

"Mr. O'Brian, if people are taking her seriously at this point, and are constantly prasing her for her work, then I think she'll meet our standards." The younger man, pushed his glasses back in place, as he was reading the recent news about Miss Young, pleased that she continues to improve.

"If you say so." Mr. O'Brian muttered with a hint of doubt in his tone, only to be reassured by the young lady herself.
