Chapter 22 - Chapter 21

"Did you enjoy your time?" Michael asked as he drove five miles over the the speed limit, on the interstate. I looked at the storm and felt my chest grow heavy, I enjoyed seeing her blush, and enjoy her presence, yet I was hoping that there would be more to the night.

"I did, did you?" He turned slightly giving me a look. "You got him drunk instead, didn't you?" I chuckled when he didn't make any indication. "It's alright, I would have done the-"

"It was Julian's fault he was drunk, I don't think he wanted to talk. However Mackenzie was brought up a couple of times." I ignored that I was interrupted, however if Mackenzie was spoken about it had my every concern. Especially with that vampire, 'how did she know?' I glanced up to the sky again.

"What was spoken?" I asked still looking out the window.

"Julian was asking about the connection between the Young's and King's. He was snooping, and he wouldn't even take his eyes of the Luna." He spoke as he turned onto another road, this road led to my house.

"There is none publicly, however maybe later." I caught his glare, honestly I wasn't bothered by it. "Look sooner or later it will be announced we have a connection." I spoke in a gruff voice, he took a deep breath and continued to drive.

About ten minutes of silence, we pulled up to the driveway and he turned into it. I was going to speak of something before he opened the door and slammed it shut. 'I can understand, he helped my father build the company, and I'm willing to give it all up for her.' I opened my door, when he walked into my house.

"Master. How was the party?" Anthony greeted both of us when I walked in, since Michael was just sitting on the coach. I looked at the old man, that was one of the few that raised me, when I was a youngster.

"It was good." I smiled then took off the jacket and tie, also taking off my leather shoes.

"Goodnight sir." I nodded and bid him good night a he walked to his car. I knew that the old man missed his family dearly, except to them he was known deceased. He was kicked out of the Young's family eight years ago, taken from raising his grandchildren.

I took the man under my wing, because he was a family friend, but also because he was a mentor. However this man was just a human, he worked in the mafia by Alex's side. 'Sometimes I wonder what happened between the men.'

"Ahem." I looked to the grumpy man on my couch and walked past him. "Alpha!" He jumped up immediately blocking my way, I gave him a dangerous look, a frown with displeased eyes.

"Yes, Beta?" He scoffed and then handed me a sheet. "You found the prophecy, congrats." I glanced at the complicated stanzas then folded the sheet of paper. "Go rest, I'll behave and not cause a scandal, besides she's busy." I took a step and walked to my room silently.

Taking a shower, I thought about what happened that night. Julian was there not for personal reasons, most likely to report to the Vampire King. 'How could I not see he was a vampire?' I looked over to the piece of paper on the counter.

"huh." I let out a deep sigh, "She's going to be frustrated when she finds out, she's a huge target." Stepping out, I shifted and crawled into bed, my beast was satisfied to have spent the night with my mate, however it wouldn't be long before he started to throw another fit.

"Daughter!" I instantly looked into the frustrated green eyes in my direction. The four of us were sitting at the table for breakfast, before all of us were dragged in different directions. Josh had fashion designing class, Eli was going to work a little bit at the business to earn money.

Father was taking me to a business class that was going to be at the company, for private lessons. I was dressed in a skirt and a button up shirt, business attire. I wore slip-on shoes at the moment and carried my heals with me to the breakfast room.

It was around nine in the morning, we had to leave immediately and I was trying to hurry, but I wasn't ready for the day. I still felt like I was being watched, but I still couldn't pinpoint where.

"I'm finished." Placing down my fork, I followed Alex to the garage where George was waiting for us. The car was running by the time the door was shut, both of us were sitting in the back.

"Is this going to be everyday?" I asked placing the heels on. They were closed toe, and were about three inches tall. I groaned internally, as I thought about how my feet would ache at the end of the day.

"Not tomorrow." I looked at him, why not tomorrow? It is also a weekday. He took a deep breath, "You're going to a meeting Sheffield late tonight, so when you get home pack an overnight bag."

Sheffield is about an hour away, so why do have to leave so early. 'Am I doing this solo?' I thought as he handed me a manilla folder.

"Why am I meeting Alaric Jones?" The folder had two pages, one was a simple profile of the dude. Alaric had blond hair, hazel eyes, and a small nose, however he had a large mouth. He was the age of 30, and he looked average height. Although he looked like he could be an idol, he was actually just a mere business man.

"It says that he wants to strike a deal. What deal?" I looked from the second page that spoke about his past, and a reason why I was meeting him. The man just created a small mafia for a side income.

"That's what I don't know, I'm sending you with George." The man parked the car, at the entrance of the Young Inc. building. It was a skyscraper, with so many glass windows and floors, however the entrance was welcoming, with a water fountain and stone statues of famous people that ran Young Inc.

I looked to the man and nodded, sliding the folder under the seat, for precautions. I stepped out of the car, with George's help, in tune with my father. Alex walked a couple of steps ahead of me, and I kept the distance between us.

"You know, about tonight, we can leave by train or by a suburban?" George spoke stepping in sync with my steps. I looked at him and then Alex who was waiting for us. I quicken my step and gained the attention of many onlookers in the building.

"Let's leave by suburban." I muttered then walked into the elevator that Alex stepped in. Only the three of us rode it up to the top floor were the old man's office was at, leaving me with George, Alex had a meeting to attend.

"Miss Young. Follow me to your class." A young secretary walked into the elevator pressing the button for two floors below us. She stepped out cautiously then waved her hand urging us to follow.

[Reporters?] I mind-linked George, he flinched, then nodded in my direction. The lady quickened our pace as the thunderous of footsteps could be heard. She reached for the knob and opened it in time to get us both in, and closed it after us. "They're crazy." I chuckled and looked at the new man standing in front of me.

"The name is Erik Almanza, I'll be your instructor on business basics." I opened my mouth to protest and George caught my eye and shook his head, 'don't argue'. While I was in high school I took the basics of Business and also accounting, so I'm just going to assume that this is an intermediate class.

"Good morning Mr. Almanza, my name is Mackenzie Young." I took a seat in one of the leather chairs, at a meeting table. He placed a booklet and a tablet in front of me, with a stylus, for taking notes.

"First I'm going to teach you..." I gave him my focus for the next hour, writing down e-notes, as he switched slides and turned the pages in his book. We had some interaction between us, for scenarios, and even dragged George into the lesson. The lesson was greeting certain guests and the proper way to set up tableware.

"It was a good first lesson, I'll see you Thursday." He picked up his stack of books and left the room. I rest my head on the table and closed my eyes, giving them a break from staring at a screen for awhile.

"This is torture, however it is new skills." I spoke as George took a seat across from me. My phone buzzed in my pocket, but I didn't reach for it. "Let me have a thirty minute nap." I place my head on the table and took a deep nap.
