The next day when Zane stood in the front of his row of students while his sensei came out of the office eyeing all the students while surveying the room. "Three more absences, sensei. Miguel says in a hushed tone of defeat. "Bunch of pussies." Aisha says confidently. "No, it's my fault. Since you joined Cobra Kai, I have been hard on you. I've called you names. I've humiliated you. Some of you I've hit. And for that, I don't apologize. Cobra kai is about strength. If you're not strong on the inside, you can't be strong on the outside. And right now, you're all weak. And I know that because I was you." He paced around and continued "I used to have no friends, I used to be the weirdo kid, well not that weird I still hooked up with babes, but the point is I wasn't always the badass sensei I am today. I had to shed my loser skin to find my true power, and you guys will too."
suddenly the door opened. And a kid walked inside. their sensei looked over saying "Welcome to cobra kai." the kid walked in and stopped before the map. Zane looked at the boy for a moment before realizing it was Eli. Laughing before saying "way to go Eli." Miguel quickly looked over in surprise saying "Eli?" Eli grinned and said, "I'm flipping the script." sensei Lawrence surprised said "Wait, Lip?! nice cut bro!" He turned to the rest of the group saying, "You see that?" he says pointing at Eli. "Doesn't matter if you're a loser, or a nerd, or a freak! All that matters is that you become badass! he turned to Eli saying Hawk fall in." Hawk complies with a smirk sporting his lips "Yes, sensei."
Zane smiled genuinely happy for his friend before quickly staring forward. Johnny started at the first line of the rows and said to Aisha "Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it?" Aisha responded "No, sensei." He moved to Hawk "Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it?" Hawk replied "No, Sensei." He moved to Miguel and said, "Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it?" Miguel responded, "No, sensei." He lastly moved to Zane, "Mercy does not exist in this dojo, does it?" Zane had a stoney look on his face saying "No, sensei." Johnny smirked moving to the middle of the matt. shouting "Class! Are you ready to learn the way of the fist?!" The entire class shouted back "Yes sensei!" their sensei let out a small grin.
A few days later, Zane was standing in line with Miguel, Aisha and Hawk. Sensei Lawrence shouted, "Fighting positions!" he walked by kicking Hawk's leg saying, "stabilize your leg so you can punch full rotation." he walked towards a kid, and he flinched. their sensei was shocked and said, "Did you just flinch, virgin?" he walked to the next kid and jumped at him, making him flinch johnny said "Oh my god. We have a room of flinchers!" The group. except Zane, Miguel, Hawk and Aisha. shouted "Yes, sensei." Johnny shouted "That was not a question! Raise your hand if you've never been punched in the face." he looked around and saw that other than Miguel, Aisha, Hawk and Zane the rest have never been punched in the face.
Johnny shouted "Ms. Robinson! line 'em up. Un flinch this group." as he walked away to the office. Zane watched as Aisha walked over to Virge punching him in the face making him laugh as he watched the rest take their turns as well, he zoned out not really paying attention as Miguel had walked in the office to talk to their sensei. After a while the training was finally over. Zane drive home on his motorcycle offering a ride to Miguel who accepted the ride, they stopped at a burger joint hanging out for a little while having fun, "Yo Miggy, you like Sam?" Zane asks smirking at his friend. Miguel looked down embarrassed before looking back up "Maybe, idk yet bro." he says half lying, Zane laughed "I can tell through mind reading your lying to me." he says putting his index finger and middle finger on his eyebrow before closing his eyes. Miguel looks at his friend laughing Zane quickly joins in on the laughter.
when the laughter dies out, he looks at his friend smiling "If you like her tell her. But don't be too blunt ask her on a date and just be yourself my guy." Miguel laughs at his friend saying "Alright fine I like her. And I'll take that advice kind sir." this makes Zane laugh. They throw their things away and hop on Zane's motorcycle and head home. The next day Zane woke up extra early for school doing his usual morning exercise before showering and brushing his teeth, He wore a black long sleeve tee, grey joggers and black and white air forces. he quickly made breakfast for he and his father "Dad yo food done come eat!" he shouted to his father. His father replied back "Ight get yo ass to school, already." he said tiredly, Zane rolled his eyes. at the comment, before leaving for school.
Zane was sitting in the hallway bullshitting, when he saw Miguel making his move on Sam he grinned "Nice." he said to himself before walking away not wanting to spy on his friend. the rest of the day went by extremely slow with Zane only looking forward to sixth period with Javi. When he gets to the class, he looks around for Javi but doesn't see him, so he decides to skip he walks through the halls hearing grunts coming from around the corner. He goes towards the noise seeing a few guys picking on Javi "Stay still you little faggot." one of the guys say. "Yeah, we're gonna beat that shit out of you." another one of them says.
There was 3 of them two of them were holding him down while one of them repeatedly hits him in the stomach. Zane seeing this runs at them, not saying a word punching the guy hitting Javi knocking him out. The other two look at him letting Javi go attacking Zane, one throws a punch at Zane, but he dodges going to hit him in the stomach, but the other guy goes for an attack, but Zane sees the attack coming. Blocking grabbing his arm judo flipping him the other guy tries to hit Zane during this move, but he turns quickly slapping the attack away, retaliating with his own attack.
Landing straight on the Jaw knocking the guy over and Zane keeps attacking hitting him again and again and again before Javi pulls him off with great difficulty. Zane looks back at Javi "Please stop." Javi pleaded and Zane nodded "Lets leave." Zane said walking away towards the exit of the school with Javi following behind him far away. as they hopped on the bike Zane asked a question "Why was they beating your ass?" he asked seriously. Javi chuckled before groaning from the pain.
