Bai Zhi woke up slowly, feeling overwhelmingly dizzy, but as she gradually opened her eyes, she found herself in a completely unfamiliar environment.
Where is this?
Bai Zhi forced herself to sit up, looking around, still unable to tell where she was.
However, a previous fragment suddenly surged into her mind; she remembered being lifted into a car by two men, and then...
Bai Zhi's face suddenly turned pale, and her body began to tremble involuntarily.
She... was kidnapped?
Kidnapping, something she'd only ever seen on TV and in movies, she never thought she'd experience it herself.
She had neither wealth nor power, who would want to kidnap her?
The door seemed not to be fully closed, and bits of conversation drifted in from outside. Bai Zhi looked at her shoes, but ultimately didn't put them on, stepping barefoot onto the cold cement floor, walking to the door and pressing her ear against it.
