Su Li did not return to the old house but chose to go back to her own home instead.
As she entered, the room was wrapped in darkness and emptiness. Su Li turned on the lights, but the loneliness clung to her like a shadow, threatening to devour her.
She took a deep breath and then went upstairs. Although she was hungry, she felt too lazy to eat because of her cold. Because she had sweated a lot during the day, she now felt sticky and uncomfortable. After taking off her clothes, she entered the bathroom.
She took a quick shower and got out, did nothing else, just lifted the quilt, and crawled into bed.
All she wanted to do now was to have a good sleep.
However, someone always seemed to go against her wishes. Just as she was drifting off to sleep, her phone rang. Looking at the flashing name on the screen, Su Li, albeit very unwillingly, answered the call.
"Hello?"
"What time is it, and you're still not back?"
