Ryan's training continued on. He practiced punches and kicks, he ran laps, did fifty push ups and sit ups, and ran a few practices drills with Bill.
After working out in his room one morning, Ryan looks at himself through his mirror. He notices that he has gained muscle mass and abs. He's surprised that he didn't notice how his training was affecting his body, but he likes it. He then gets dressed and ready for school.
Ryan makes it to school and sees Zack next to his locker. The two fist bump and start walking together.
"So, how's the karate training going?" Zack asks.
"Exhausting, painful, lot of broken bones. Overall, pretty good."
"Your karate training, with the janitor?"
"Yes, my karate training with the janitor."
The two laugh a bit.
"I don't know, man. I mean, how good at martial arts can a guy who cleans toilets be?"
Zack then bumps into Bill who just stares at him.
"Oh...hi...how's it going?"
Bill doesn't answer and continues to stare at Zack.
"Cool, cool. Hey Ryan, I'll, I'll catch you later."
Zack leaves to his class as Ryan and Bill chuckle to themselves.
Emily then shows up infront of Ryan. He is caught off guard by how pretty she looks, even prettier than the last time he saw her.
"Hey, Ryan."
"Emily, Hi."
"Look I'm so sorry for what Ethan and the Cobra's did to you. That was so uncalled for."
"You don't have anything to apologize for. You're not responsible for his actions. Besides, I don't regret anything."
"Including talking to me, even if it got you beat up?"
"Especially talking to you."
The two smile at each other for a moment.
"So, what class you got right now?" Ryan asks.
"Um, geometry."
"What a cowinsadinse, I was just about to head that way. Mind if I walk with you?"
Emily smiles while blushing.
"I'd like that."
As the two walk down the hall, they run into Derek Long and two other Cobra Kai members.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the new kid." Derek says.
"Hey fellas, nice to see you again." Ryan replies.
"Did you really not learn from the last beat down, Larusso? Your still hangin around Ethan's girl?"
"I'm not his girl anymore, Derek."
"Come on, Em. You two were the most popular couple in this school. You really gonna trade that in for this guy? He doesn't even come close to Ethan."
"Excuse me, but I have a quick question. Uh Derek, what exactly do Ethans boots taste like?"
Both the Cobra Kai's and everyone else in the hallway look on in shock.
"What did you just say?!" Derek angerly asks.
"I said, boy your lips must be tired from kissing Ethans ass all day."
Ryan is then suprised to see one of the Cobra's laughing, the one who tried to stop Ethan from beating him up, Oliver.
"Looks like you need to be taught another lesson."
Derek throws a punch, but Ryan remembers his training, blocking with the same motion as he does to wipe the lockers. Everyone is shocked, including Derek. A kick is then thrown, and Ryan again blocks, this time using the same motion he does to mop the floor. Derek gets so angry that he throws another punch, but Ryan catches it and smirks. The second member of Cobra kai gets ready to step up, but that's when a teacher shows up.
"Is there a problem here, gentlemen."
Derek angerly stares at Ryan for a moment, then snatches his hand away.
"No sir, we were just leaving." Derek tells the teacher.
He then whispers something to Ryan.
"This isn't over."
Ryan whispers back.
"Your breath is really bad."
As the Cobra's and the teacher walk off, everyone who was bullied by Cobra kai start to clap for Ryan, including Emily. As Ryan rubs the back of his head, Bill watches on in the background and smiles.
