Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 - Mistaken.

"Of course! Of course!! I will send you to the original location you were supposed to go, after I do somethings. Come inside my palace, although it's currently destroyed, it's foundation stood majestically in the Great War of Acroznia and impeded the evil demons..." The majestic old man was speaking about how the palace was destroyed.

Dia was really annoyed, that this old man was talking to much and he did not want to cut to the chase. Everything was pointless when no one was appreciative of his majestic talk. But she thought to fast as Hale was already questioning the downfall of the palace. She really wanted to smash his face at this point.

Eggy just looked at the surroundings of the palace, when they were welcomed in. She saw broken ornaments and statues that were once carved on the walls. The rags and curtains was shredded and burned to look like hardened melted lava. Everything was old and dusty. Nothing seemed to be in good condition except for the remnant soul.

Pillars with melted copper carvings were erected inside the palace. Only half of the pillars withstood the destruction, supporting the remaining broken roof.

A large throne sat in the middle, with carved golden dragons wrapped around the armrest. Upon the throne was a skeleton with a black crown and torn garments.

The skeleton had its ribs punctured with a hole. A powerful blast incinerated through the chest and that lead to the downfall of a mighty king.

"Sad to say this, but my wife betrayed the kingdom. The morale of my people when that happened was completely dissapated and so we began to fall one-by-one. I...I loved her dearly. I wish I saw through her, otherwise this would never have happened. I never thought that hidden behind those lovely smiles and perfectly harmless face, that will lighten up any mournful mood, to be a criminal who stabbed her very husband through the heart." The remnant soul said with tears and snot dripping from his face. He looked pitiful and heartbroken.

"Sorry for asking uncle." Hale said with a saddened look. Now he realized why the king did not want to bring up his personal matters, as it would make him have a great breakdown. Nobody wants others to see himself or herself so weak and fragile, when someone is at their lowest point in their life.

Dia was also saddened by the story, as her anger instantly quelled. Betrayal by a loved one was the worse type of regret one could have, especially by the loved one who occupies the most space in that person's heart.

"When my eyes were barely open and blood gushed out from my chest, I saw her face with that beautiful smile like what she did was nothing. My heart was shredding apart at that point. My head ached with millions of thoughts. I did not know what to do. I could remember everything that happened so clearly. It loops within my mind, a constant mental torture." The king continued talking and shared his feelings.

"Although you are young, I do not know why I'm telling you such a tragedy. But some how it makes me feel better like I can breathe again. I hope that you all earn the love from someone who is truthful and honest. Someone who has no other ideas towards you except loving you and caring for you. I know what it feels to enter an abyss with no return, where your heart burns with pain."

"Thank you for listening so attentively. I did not mean to make you all cry. Please children, here's my gift. I hope you use it wisely. This is my goodbye. I shall leave this world. Where there is a Heaven or Hell, I shall accompany it till I vanish in this universe." The king took out the ring and crown from his skeletal remains and passed it to Hale and Dia. And then he vanished within the dusty hall never to be seen or heard again.

"Wait uncle but our spatial portal..." Dia looked at the vanishing halo of light but it was too late as everything of that remnant soul dissappeared.

"Damn it, we have been conned by that old man. Now we can not return or know where the place Mother sent us to." Hale looked pale. That old man was too irresponsible, how can he forget to send them back to their current destination.

"Maybe the things he gave us may have a clue." Dia said with a serious look.
