"Hale, come fourth and stand on this crystal lattice." Martha urges him to jump up on a weird-shaped crystal.
"This crystal will test you aptitude for Magic or Qi. Just relax your body and allow the energy to flow within your body. The energy will guide it self. No need to attempt to control over it." Martha explained how the crystal lattice functioned.
Hale nodded and stepped up. He stood on the crystal lattice, bare-footed. The energy from the lattice poured in him, flowing through his meridians or vessels that control the Qi. It also flowed in his blood and organs.
The crystal shone with a strange and bright red light. The light turned from white to gold in a few seconds. It then turned to violet and surged to pink.
Martha was astonished. "This boy can become a Magus if he works harder but his body rejects the Mana and exudes the Qi. A shame indeed. Only one form of pure essence can occupy the human body. The Qi doesn't want to be with the Mana so his body only seeked the Qi and rejected the Mana. But the Qi essence seems to be stronger and more pure within him." Martha was contemplating. She was amazed at this guy's talent.
"Ma'am can I come off now?" Hale wanted to leave the pedestal of crystal lattice.
Martha nodded and he came down. He wanted to know his results.
"Hale, your results was beyond my expectations. It seems we are dealing with the potential of a future Magus, if you chose the path of Mage but alas it seems that your body doesn't like Mana. Quite sad that your small body can be so picky. You will make an excellent Cultivator, it seems that your aptitude for cultivation is immense and that the crystal lattice cannot comprehend the level you may reach in cultivation. You can choose two rewards from my abode." Martha said with an aloof-like facial expression which was charming.
Hale was excited, he get to choose two rewards from a powerful and mighty Dragon. How can the treasures of a Dragon be weak or worthless, obviously not in any way possible.
Hale walked beside Martha. He smelled a very nice and flowery scent, that Martha exuded. Martha smells so nice that he took deep breaths of the scent.
Martha could see what he was doing and couldn't help but smile. This child is a funny-one, nothing like his carefree mother or his cold sister. His sister had a very charming, cold-like demeanor, one that's fit for a queen or a Goddess. He was definitely different compared to them. He had his own charming ways.
Martha stayed with them for countless of years, but her presence was well hidden. She could see everything that happened within the family. She knew Hale from the time he was born yet he didn't even know of her existance. She was happy to see them. It was like watching a movie, she knew all of Hale's troublesome plot's he would come up with, such as the time he slided down from the roof to fetch his ball.
Hale walked beside her until they reached a castle, inside the cave. The castle was pitch black in color, showing it's power. The house of a Dragon is definitely out of this world. Hale couldn't help but want to see everything inside such a house.
The castle was enormous as thrice as the size of their house. On top of the castle was a tower. There was no flag or anything like that but it was very clean. No dust could be found and crystals of all sizes was emerging from the sides of the castle. It was really cool.
Martha held his tiny hand and brought him inside. When he was inside, there was a crystal screen. It showed magnificent pictures of many magnificent creatures. It was so intriguing, how did this screen trap all those creatures? Hale was wondering.
Martha looked at his cute and confused look and couldn't help but want to teach him, "This is a crystal vision-screen, it shows pictures of events or a motion picture of anything you like to see. It also can show detailed maps. It is really an amazing work of using magic crystals. People who can make these things, using magic crystals and very powerful formations, are called Formation Mage's. They are very rare, this kingdom only has one low-tier Formation Mage."
