"A deal?" I repeated while examining the area I was in, nothing but pure darkness with red flashing lights occurring every time the voice spoke.
"An agreement!" His claim echoed. "You know—" The fog circled me once more, lifting my body from the floor by a few centimeters. "It's rude to just shut me up every time after you're done exploiting my power," a force that felt like hands grabbed my arm to hold me in the air, violently gripping them as I felt claws sinking in while my body just hung.
But weird enough I did not feel any pain from it as only questions formed in my head.
"Your power?" I mumbled. "Who even are you?" I squirmed out of the hold and fell back on my toes.
"You utilized and controlled me all those times only for you to not recognize my greatness and better yet—" His maniacal laughter reached every corner of this vast place as the surroundings started to change. "MY EXISTENCE?"
Now he sounded more like a furious monster.
I was now standing in a very familiar area where I fell unconscious while my body moved on its own as I watched from an empty place. It was the secluded and private training area that only our mentors or higher-ups could use.
I remember every corner of that area where people surrounded and fought me— My berserk state.
"Finally," the voice reenacted the scenes that I vaguely had any recollections of. "This body will do," it walked towards me, my body taking a few steps back after it ran through me, and the human-like body of his dispersed.
"Oh! There are people!" Our voices collided in perfect sync when I decided to speak about what I remembered from that time.
"Yes!" He exclaimed.
I could never get used to his horrifying laugh.
"You had your own consciousness?" My eyes widen as the surroundings have now changed to the bright lab room where they experimented on children.
And right in front of me lay the cold metal table with restraining straps, a lever, and overhead machinery.
"I was a separate being," his voice now grieving.
A scene played in front of us while the lights slowly dimmed out.
My breath spiked and worsened at the sight of my parents operating on their helpless daughter. The shrieks and amount of begging I did, unfolded before my bare eyes.
"If you titled me as a monster, then what were they?" His question came with a gloomy tone.
"We were forced to live as one," the scene ended just after I knelt and attempted to barf on the floor but nothing was coming out.
"But that ends today," with his words came sharp claws gawking at my throat that were advancing at a speed that made my foot step backward as if I was running.
"What do you want?" I asked an obvious question before I hit the non-existent wall which halted both of our movements.
His face that were made from black specs of dust inched closer. "Your body," his claws returning as a human hand that tried to strangle my neck. "I want full control of your body," it repeats, his greedy mouth growling at my ear like an animal that wants to be let out and free.
But a realization hit me as I finally regained my normal breathing.
"Then why don't you try and take it by force," my voice sounded confident and calmer.
"Good suggestion," We were now then on a surrounding that mimicked our group's lounge. "I just simply can't force my way out," he was sipping tea from a cup while sitting on the sofa, his knees spread apart, unbothered by the huge amount of space he occupied.
"But I have no intention of elaborating any further," I stood still as the cup flew just by my ear and shattered into the wall.
"And definitely no intention of letting you puppet me any longer," my tone was decisive, eyes only focused on every move he made.
"In case you're forgetting," he snapped his fingers and we were out of the lounge. As the scene where Akira was standing still was radiating in our surroundings. "You are in no position to refuse my proposition," his eyes now lit up.
His irises were uniquely engraved with symbols that were different from each other, and sharp teeth were now displayed as he grinned at the reality.
"You'll only rampage and kill anything on sight, so what's the difference in your help if I can't even save the ones I wanted to protect?" His grin slowly shut and he was left speechless. "I was lucky to stop your frenzy before you could've done serious harm to Noel back then," my tone started to pick up the volume.
I was met with silence.
He took a step back and stared for a bit.
"You loathed him," I could only hear his murmur after I spoke Noel's name.
"What?" I uttered in disbelief but he only ignored it, completely changing the course of the conversation.
"I have a temporary proposal," the scene once again changed into an unfamiliar place after his sudden change of aggressive temper into a docile tone.
We were in a bright field now, the wind caressing my cheeks as it softly swayed my hair.
"Let me control your body," he spoke, eyes once more opening but this time, he looked miserable.
"What?" I almost shouted but was cut off by his continued suggestions.
"And I'll let you control my mind," the peaceful scenery was replaced with a burning house as the floor was drowning in a pool of thick red liquid.
His once tame expressions were now lit with fiery passion. "I'll devour your enemies for you, so command me on who to spare," he walked towards me, arms spread wide as he smiled enthusiastically.
"I pledge on your consent that my thirst for blood is reserved for your enemies alone," wrapping his arms tight around me. And I had no reason to reject his offer.
I was left puzzled by how his aggressive nature was overthrown by my simple claim that I used to reason with his logic.
Trying to retrace my words, I noticed that his demeanor only changed from the moment I spoke of Noel's name.
"Please," the feeling of falling into a deep hole started to mesmerize me as I accepted his embrace. My eyes were slowly shutting as I felt the cold touch of his sharp claws sinking into my back.
"Save that child," wincing in pain as my body felt light and I found myself floating in pure darkness.
Then the chains started to prevent me from drifting any further in this cold and dark space. I was too tired to break free from it as I slowly felt my consciousness leaving me.
"Burn it all down," I mustered to say before my eyes gave up.
