"It's time Ami! Let's go! Hurry up or we're going to be late!" Mina said as she started tugging on Ami's robe. Today was Quidditch tryouts and Ami had been talking about it all week. On top of that, Jin had been helping her out and giving her pointers. Making sure she was training right for when the day finally came.
"Ah I'm so nervous. What if I mess up or fall off my broomstick. Oh goodness. Anything could happen." Ami said as she started to ramble off all the bad things that could happen. Mina wasn't having it though.
"Ami. Shut up. You got this. You're absolutely amazing and you're going to impress everyone. You're going to make the team no matter what and I'll be there in the bleachers cheering you on." Mina said with a smile, patting her friends shoulders as she gave them a soft squeeze.
Mina and Ami quickly ran through the halls trying to get to the Quidditch Pitch. They had just finished with their Herbology class and were running late since that class was towards the front of the school and the quidditch pitch was all the way in the back of the school.
As they got closer, Ami got even more excited. With Mina's support, she knew she could do this. Each day they were going to hold tryouts. Today they were holding chaser tryouts and that's what Ami was hoping to get. If anything she could come back the following day and try out for a beater position.
As they approached the stands Mina smiled "I know you got this, you'll do amazing!" She gave her a big hug. "I'll be right in the stands to cheer you on."
Ami took a deep breath and nodded. "Thanks Mina, you're the best. I'll see you after tryouts." They went their separate ways, Mina to the stands and Ami onto the quidditch pitch where a couple other students were waiting.
The field was a huge oval shape with a size of 500 feet long and 108 feet wide. It had a small circle at the centre, approximately two feet in diameter from which all the balls were released at the start of the game. She looked around in awe, feeling so tiny. At each end were three goal hoop shaped goalposts with different heights.
She gulped at the sight of everyone. Seokjin spotted Ami and smiled as he ran towards her calling out her name. She looked around and spotted him running towards her. "Glad you could make it. I was beginning to think you changed your mind."
Ami laughed. "I wouldn't have missed this for the world. Though looking at all these people is starting to make me a bit nervous." She chuckled out nervously.
Jin pulled her into a side hug. "You have nothing to be nervous about. Just remember everything I taught you and you'll be fine. Now let's join the rest of the team." Jin led her towards their house section.
Each house was spread out on the field where everyone could meet up and later on they would each separate by going into their house changing rooms so they can get the proper equipment on.
After everyone got settled, they separated to put their uniforms on and grab their equipment. Jin being a chaser and the Captain of the team led everyone inside the changing room. He showed them around. There were two changing areas on each side of the room for the boys and girls.
On another side were lockers and benches and then he led them to another area where a chalkboard was. "This is where we talk strategy and where we'll meet up right before any games."
Everyone surrounded Jin as he spoke. "As you all know, today's tryouts are for Chasers. There are three chasers on the team and since I'm a chaser, only two lucky people will make it on the team." There were a few murmurs and gasps within the students. Ami gulped and looked around, the room was full of students that included Hoseok. He was the keeper of the team and another student named Chan- being the seeker of the team. There were four students trying out for the chaser position, including herself.
"Now don't get upset if you don't make it on the team you can always come back tomorrow since we will hold beater tryouts and so on until we have a complete team."
After giving words of encouragement Jin handed out uniforms and protective gear and everyone went to go change. Ami and another female student went to their changing room section while the two males went to their section leaving Jin, Hoseok and Chan.
A while later they were in the stands. Each house will have a mini competition with each other so they can see how each member plays. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were the first house to play. Leaving Hufflepuff and Slytherin to compete last.
It was getting towards the end and soon Hufflepuff and Slytherin were next as they made their way towards the field and into the air in their positions as Jin instructed.
"Welcome to the Slytherin and Hufflepuff Chaser tryouts. We've got four aspiring players, eager to fly with their teams. But only two will be chosen." Murphy the announcer spoke through the speaker once again announcing the teams. "Each captain from the team will be keeping a close eye on this competition. Who will join them as Slytherin and Hufflepuff's new chaser? Let's get these tryouts started!"

Soon Hufflepuff was in the lead and they were preparing for the end. Slytherin had the quaffle and the chasers were trying to steal it back. "The opposing chaser has the quaffle! Ami's after the Quaffle! Will she be able to steal it back? Or will that be the end of her perfect streak?" Ami had been doing extremely well in the game, she managed to score most of the goals and was really sneaky in stealing the quaffle away.
At one point she almost got hit with a bludger that Serena sent flying straight towards her but she managed to dodge it in time. Serena sent her a smirk and Ami glared at her. She's going to have to keep an eye out for her.
Ami held onto her broom and sped up right behind the opposite chaser and was waiting for the perfect moment to grab it. Once the ball was in the perfect position she snuck up from under and spun around and over the chaser and snatched the quaffle then sped off as fast as she could. "Fantastic flying from Ami, everybody! Now will she be able to pass the quaffle over to her teammate or will Slytherin come in for the steal."
Ami held the quaffle in one hand as she kept an eye on her teammate. Slytherins chaser got in between her and her teammate trying to block off the pass. She waited for the right moment to pass it and once she did her teammate caught it "What a perfect pass from Ami! Thanks to her, Hufflepuff is able to keep the quaffle! Absolutely brilliant!"
Her teammate flew fast on the broom towards the goalposts dodging the opposite team and flying bludgers. Slytherin quickly blocked the way but the teammate quickly passed the quaffle to Jin and he used his broomstick to hit the quaffle straight into the goalpost. The crowd went crazy cheering and clapping. "What a fantastic shot from Hufflepuffs captain Jin earning 10 more points! Which makes Hufflepuff the winners! That's it for the tryouts! Which lucky two players made it to the team? Let the deliberations begin!"
Hufflepuff and Slytherin slowly descended down to the field to congratulate one another. "Good job guys, you played wonderfully." Jin smiled at his team.
Jimin gave a big hug to Ami and she returned one back. Yoongi walked up to Jin and they shook hands. Yoongi was the captain of the team and they were talking about how good each person played. Yoongi turned towards Ami and ruffled her hair. "You did a good job, kid."
Serena was in the back grinding her teeth. She wanted to walk up to Yoongi and remove his hand from atop of Ami's head but she held back. Instead she kicked the trunk where the quaffle, bludger, bludger bats and snitch are kept.
Suddenly a rogue bludger got loose and it started flying around looking for something to hit.
Ami saw the bludger turn back around heading straight for Serena. She got back on her broom and sped off picking up a bat from the floor and hit the bludger away just in time before it hit her. Slythern's beater quickly went after the bludger and put it away back in the trunk.
"Woah, Serena are you okay?" Someone from her team said walking up to her.
"You're surprisingly strong for someone your size." Jimin said shocked.
"Do you want to try out for the beater position?" Jin asked her, impressed.
"Maybe someday I'll try out for beater but right now I want to stay a chaser, that is if I get on the team. That bat was pretty heavy." Ami chuckled and dropped the bat.
"You'll make a fine Beater someday." Hoseok commented and Ami smiled and thanked him.
Mina came running onto the field and tackled Ami into a hug. "Ami that was amazing! I knew you had it in you!" She turned towards everyone else. "Good game everyone." She glanced at Yoongi and he smiled.
"Alright let's go change out of these uniforms and meet back up later. Us captains have a lot of thinking to do." Yoongi said and patted Jin's shoulders as he nodded in agreement.
Mina followed Ami to the changing rooms. "I'll wait out here for you." Ami nodded and her team went to get changed.
After everyone was back in their school robes, Jin called everyone to the chalkboard to congratulate everyone once again. "The results will be posted by tomorrow, so don't forget to check the bulletin board in the common room."
Mina's ears were ringing after the tryouts had ended. The loud screaming and cheering being a little too much for her to handle to the point where she had to take out her hearing aid. She tugged on Ami's robe, signing to her to let her know how she was feeling. When Mina took out her hearing aid, she didn't like to talk. She would just read lips and stay quiet. Which was what she planned to do today.
Or so she thought.
Classes were cancelled once again thanks to the tryouts so everyone was enjoying their peaceful day. Mina and Ami were heading back to their dorm when all seven of the guys approached them. That made Mina a little uneasy. She wasn't comfortable yet putting her hearing aid back in due to her ears hurting and being too sensitive but she didn't also want them to know about her handicap either.
Looking up at Ami, she gave her a worried look before looking back at the others as they stopped in front of them, greeting the two of them.
"Hello ladies. How are we feeling today?" Hoseok said with his heart shaped smile before giving Ami a wink as he chuckled softly.
"You did really good today Ami! You're definitely going to make the team!" Jungkook said as he gave her a high five.
Soon everyone else was chiming in, giving their compliments to Ami as she smiled and thanked them all. Which gave Taehyung an opening to move closer to her. When he was standing next to her, he smiled down at her, his hand brushing against her arm before he was shoving his hands in his pockets. This made Ami blush before she cleared her throat, looking over at Mina who was watching the boys lips as they spoke.
"We were actually heading back to the dorm now. Mina isn't feeling too good right now so I want to make sure she gets some rest but maybe we can all meet up later, yeah?" Ami said as they all nodded their heads.
"Yeah that's fine. Just shoot one of us a text and we'll meet up later." Jimin said with a smile before waving bye to the girls as they headed back to their dorm. Yoongi was a little worried, considering Mina didn't even say anything to them when she always did. As the boys were leaving, Yoongi just happened to look back at the girls in time to see Ami signing to Mina. Was Mina deaf or was this just something the two did in private. Either way, he had a lot of questions now and he was still worried about her.
Once him and Jimin were back in their room, he laid down on his bed while pulling out his phone as he texted Mina to make sure she was okay and if she needed anything to let him know. When she texted him back saying she was okay and she just needed some rest, he just smiled before setting his phone on the nightstand and rolled onto his side and closed his eyes, taking a nap of his own.
