They call me Thanatos.
Like the Greek God of Death.
I was named by my parents like any other person was, and ironically I think they really did pick the perfect name for me. Because their name selected was what I became after my first kill.
Currently I am the Alpha of the Death Moon Pack. It's only made up of 11 of us, and I know they say we're stronger in numbers so that means because of our little amount we'd be weak, right? Funnily enough, despite our number size we're part of the top three most strongest pack in the world. Ranking us pack number three of course. We're known as Lycans, mystical beings that roamed this Earth for thousands of years. Shapeshifters that wield an almost unlimited amount of powers which includes self healing. There's not much of us, about five girls, six boys (including myself).
I'm the only unmated one and, as unfortunate as it sounds there's nothing to complain about! The reason? I know I'll find my mate soon, it's just a matter of time before she appears.
The only disadvantage in my pack size and my mate is that we're constantly under attack. Many others always trying to take my place or to just get rid of me, and because of that sometimes I'm nervous on whether or not I can protect her. But as everyone knows where there's a problem there's always a solution! Lucky me, I'm friends with the other top alphas, which immediately puts me in the safe zone. If it weren't for my links with them I'd be dead.
"Why you staring into outer space 'ALPHA'? You think it's safer up there than it is down here?" My best friend and beta Samar asked with a hint of mischief in his eyes.
"Oh, and before you answer Alpha Leo and Alpha Apollo are at the Northern Border. They're waiting on us."
I love making dramatic entrances and exits. like every other main character, so instead of running down three flights of stairs I jump through my third story window and shifted halfway down. After landing not so softly on the ground I mind-linked my assassin Owen and tell him to meet me at the North Boundary in about fifty seconds.
As soon as I arrived I shifted and collected a backpack of clothes cleverly hidden in a hollowed out tree trunk. Some people believe that we shift with our clothes; well, we don't, unless of course the clothes in question are enchanted. To flex to the world of how godly I was built I shift and put the clothes on in the open.
"Sup Thanatos, long time no see," Alpha Leo greeted me as he and Alpha Apollo walked out from behind two trees, approximately 25 feet away.
"Indeed, it's been a while... Wait, did you two stand there and watch me change?"
"OF COURSE NOT!" shouted Apollo.
I ignored his guilty outburst, "my friends, you should know how busy I am so why are you here?"
"We got a call from Owen saying that the activity from the other packs show a huge increase in communication, he thinks they are planning on working together to conquer our packs, make one huge pack and then after we're dead hold a tournament to decide who will be the alpha of all the packs combined." Apollo states.
"What's your plan Leo? I know you have one. If you don't, then I don't know why Ironhide is the #1 pack."
"I do have a plan. I'm hosting a meeting in my territory three days from now, I'm expecting the attendance of all the alpha families and the beta families."
"What and who else can I expect? "I ask, "since I'll have to go I need to know who I might be fighting."
"Your bro-" I cut him off.
"Which one?" I ask very calmly while trying to contain my anger. Leo seeing this starts to back away.
"Both of them," he whispers then runs off while I'm processing what he just said.
"Thanatos, you never told us why you hate your own brothers. Shouldn't you be glad you still have family?" Owen asks finally speaking. I forgot he was there, probably why he is my assassin.
"Do you know how many times those two fuckholes tried to kill me? They killed μου (MY) whole family. Now I have none left, dad told us rogues were the worst type of wolves but those two are way worse! My mom said I was special that's the only reason I lived!! They don't KNOW what family is! ΑΥΤΟΙ (THEY) are not my family, and I don't care that you are my friend!! If you tell me that they are η οικογένειά μου (my family) again, we will kill you ourselves!!.."
"I did not know," he said whilst turning around and disappearing.
