Chapter 2 - Lyaslea Sea Star and the past

"How can a mere Heavenly Eye Demi-God dare to offend that person?!"

"Does the Heavenly Eye Demi-God have a backer?"

"Why did the Sword Emperor lower himself to pick a fight against the Heavenly Eye Demi-God?" Many Cultivators began to speculate deeply.

----

Back on the floating Island, the man suddenly smirked, "I know you, lost kitten."

The spiritual being was frightened, thinking that she could camouflage her whole existence into the law of this realm, even from the Sword Emperor. What gave her confidence was the fact that she knew the current circumstances of the Sword Emperor.

She hastily flew away and even burned a little of her life essence in exchange for speed.

"Even if I just started cultivating this body ten thousand years ago, do you think you can escape me?" the man smiled without even looking at the spiritual body.

"I knew that you knew my circumstances because of your beautiful master. It's really a pity; I was planning to f*ck her if only her husband hadn't plotted behind her back. She was such a gorgeous Empress—such a waste not to f*ck," The man was holding his chin and grinning.

"How dare you insult my late master! Even if you are the Sword Emperor, I will not tolerate you for insulting Her Majesty!" the spiritual body stopped and glowed brightly, clearly agitated.

"Hey, hey... it hurts my eyes. No need to overreact," The man said while covering his eyes.

"Your master and I are close friends; no need to be aggressive. Besides, I know that she uses a cultivation method that allows her to reincarnate nine times," the man added.

The spiritual body did not answer and just glowed brightly for a few minutes. Then it slowly became dim.

"I knew even if you are a weak Immortal, I still can't win against you with my peak stage of the Demi-God Realm," the woman sighed and gave up.

"You are the lost little kitten she found outside the forest she ruled. She named you Leyla, right? You have been serving her your entire life. Now that she is gone and you don't know where she is, you should serve her daughter who is now my woman, so you will naturally also become my servant," The man said with an enticing tone.

"Yes, that is why I abandoned my mission of revenge to serve Her Royal Highness here in the lower realm. But you have changed somehow, Lord Sword Emperor," Leyla spoke carefully after calming down.

"How so?"

"..."

"Don't mind it, and just speak what's on your mind; I won't eat you," The man said after seeing her state.

'I won't yet,' He added in his mind.

"You have become more addicted to the pleasure of the physical body," Leyla said carefully.

"Hmm?" The man looked at her perplexed.

"I heard rumors that before you vanished, you f*cked your female enemies to death... and knowing you, Lord Sword Emperor, you might do it, but you would usually refrain because even you think that it is low," Leyla spoke awkwardly.

"Hahaha!" the man chuckled.

"Yes, it's true, I f*cked them to death—like the Lust Demi-God who wanted to absorb my whole cultivation and soul to have a breakthrough. That reminds me, that Demi-Goddess has a disciple," The man grinned, which frightened Leyla, who thought of the consequence if she had truly offended him when she snapped a while ago. Now that she was calmed down, she realized it was truly a bad idea to disrespect the Sword Emperor.

"I will find you a body to reside in so you can help Her Highness, my woman," the man said while grinning.

'I am f*cked...' Leyla sighed, thinking that her purity would be taken the moment she had a body.

"Hahaha! I won't cross the bottom line of those that are not my enemy if they truly don't want it," the man chuckled, which gave Leyla relief.

"What realm is this, Lord Sword Emperor?" Leyla asked after feeling the Qi in the surroundings, which was minuscule to her.

"Lower Mortal Realm, Sphere Ingusse," the man said.

"Did you come here for Her Highness?"

"That is one of the reasons, and I have two more," the man said as he pulled another talisman before the barrier completely broke right after the bell broke to contain the blue ray of light that the Heavenly Eye Demi-God sent to locate him.

The man took a one-foot soft silver branch from his storage ring. The silver branch emitted a different kind of vitality than any other branch-type treasure.

"Here," the man threw the branch to Leyla.

"It came from one of the Higher Mortal Realms where the ruler set the power structure as a 'System'. I got it two thousand years ago before I arrived here in the Lower Mortal Realm," He explained.

"Is this a branch from the Forest of Dryad?!" Leyla exclaimed in shock, as it was her first time seeing a branch from the Forest of Dryad. Even without actually seeing one, she once read about it in a chronicle, and anyone would recognize the energy it emits is the same aura as what the Dryad emits.

"Yes, it is still a wonder how those country-toppling maidens didn't notice that a piece of their sacred forest is missing. They value the forest more than their race. They will even start a war for a single missing twig and will kill anyone who enters the forest, which became the reason why no one outside was able to tell what that forest is, as no one lived to tell the tale," the man said while holding his chin, thinking about some shameless things.

"Even Saints will back off from the forest," Leyla nodded her head in approval, thinking how powerful and mysterious the Dryads in the forest that houses only maidens were.

"Don't think too much about it, just absorb the essence and leave behind the branch; I have some uses for that," The man smiled at her as he took a scroll map from his storage ring and showed it to Leyla.

"To be precise, we are in the Lyaslea Sea Star. It is the third strongest planet here in the Lower Mortal Realm called Sphere Ingusse," the man began to explain the place they were currently residing.

Lyaslea Sea Star is considered the third strongest planet here in Sphere Ingusse. There are many other Lower Mortal Realms other than Sphere Ingusse.

Some realms are being ruled by a God, and they made it their realm. They created and maintained the power structure of their realm.

Unlike Sphere Ingusse, the mortal realm that the man went to before, where he found the silver branch, had both cultivation and technology, and their method of leveling was run by a System. Every person in that realm would have a System the moment they were born, and with that, they could see their status.

Unlike the Cultivation path, in which one cannot alter the law or stop time when they still don't understand the law or have Immortal-level cultivation, in that realm, if the System grants the person the power of time, then they can naturally stop time even if they are a mortal or even without understanding the law. While this method seems unbalanced, it is actually the opposite.

To the ignorant, especially the people of that realm, they will think that it is unbalanced and gives mortals so much power without practically doing anything. But to the well-informed, especially the cultivators beyond the Immortal Realm, they think otherwise.

The God ruler of that realm imprisons every person in that realm with the Cultivation System that grants every person a System. They may have the power to alter the law of that realm, but it cannot alter the law of another realm. It also made every person be stuck in the fixed level that God created, which no one can break. The people in that realm are basically playing in the hands of the God who created their System.

Some Gods grant their realm blessings which strengthen the people; some Gods give their people power and turn them into mutants; some give their people knowledge to start a technological civilization; there are naturally some Gods that followed the survival of the fittest; there are many more kinds of method to cultivate that were granted by a God.

Sphere Ingusse is only focused on cultivation and has no technological civilization. It doesn't restrict the people in it and can naturally ascend to a higher realm as this realm is not being controlled by any God.

Of course, there are naturally some people that already have cultivation granted to them by their ancestors. These people cultivated differently than any people in their realm; thus, the other people of their realm called their method 'unorthodox', and it made these people be discriminated against.

In Lyaslea Sea Star, cultivating using the Qi of the surrounding is the norm.

Lyaslea Sea Star has four continents, and eighty percent of the planet is covered by the sea; it is also twice as big as Jupiter.

There are many legends about the name Lyaslea. Some say that it was a man named Lias and a woman named Lea who created the planet. Some say that a single person was split into two while they were altering the landscape of the planet. While some say that the planet actually consisted of only earth and had four great mountains, then a single God in their whim poured a sea on the planet with a wave of their hand, thus the four great mountains became the four great continents.

Lyaslea Sea Star has four great continents, namely: Dianthus, Lilium, Agapa, and Ton Listro.

Dianthus Continent is ruled by one empire, the De la Roux royal family. The empire rules twenty-four kingdoms, twenty-nine countries, and one village. This village is not some ordinary village, as its size is larger than the royal capital of De la Roux. The common people only know that the royal family also rules the village, but old powerhouses and hermits know that it is not the case, as even the royal family will bow their heads to the village.

Every continent has this one enormous and mysterious village. It is at the very top of the continent and is surrounded by a fog that many suspect is an Immortal formation. Even the peak cultivator of the Lyaslea Sea Star was afraid of stepping inside the village because there was once a record of when a powerhouse of one of the continents entered the mysterious village, and his soul pearl was shattered instantly. After a few more powerhouses died, they decided to leave the village alone and view it as a forbidden area to mortals, and it stays like that even after thousands of years.

The village is always protecting the continents from monsters and invaders from other planets. There are also some cases when beautiful women will be seen outside the village and looking down on the entire empire as if supervising. In these times, the royal family will bow their heads, thanking the beautiful women for the protection they give them.

*******

Badum. Badum. Badum.

In the Palace of the empire of De la Roux, the emperor Vonne De la Roux was sitting on his throne while holding a white pearl that was beating like an actual heart.

"She is close to maturity... When she is ripe enough, I can finally harvest her," The emperor grinned with an ecstatic face as he fantasized about the future.

The De la Roux royal family has been ruling the Dianthus continent for a few thousand years. The current emperor, Vonne De la Roux, however, was too greedy for his own good. Not only did he lust over those beautiful goddesses from the village, but he also wanted to use the power of the village to slowly rule over the entire planet.

Of course, the emperor is not a brain-dead idiot; otherwise, he wouldn't qualify to rule an entire continent.

It all began when the emperor found an infant in a space portal when the empire was raiding a dungeon, wanting to expand the empire's resources.

The Emperor himself led the raid. He found an ancient bronze door at the end of the dungeon that had engravings of an unknown ancient language.

When his subordinates opened the door, what they saw was not a way inside but a mixture of the black and dark gray colored portal.

They made many speculations about where it led.

They blocked the entrance of the dungeon to prevent other cultivators or spies from entering.

After a few years of researching, they found out that it was actually a portal to the higher realm. The day that they discovered that was also the day of the death of hundreds of thousands of powerful cultivators of the empire investigating the portal because the moment they learned where it led, they abandoned everything like mad men and rushed to the portal.

They however could not force their way through the portal and shattered into many pieces. That is also what made the other cultivators who were regretting that they were not fast enough thank their mother for letting them be born to be slow. The shattered bodies and the drops of blood woke them up from their delusions like a bucket of cold water. From then on, no one became greedy enough and thought that they could ascend to a higher realm.

Months later, the day that the Emperor was visiting the dungeon where the bronze door was located, the entire dungeon suddenly trembled and the bronze door started to crack while the spinning portal started to spin a thousand times faster.

At that time, the portal suddenly emitted a strong barrier that spread from the portal to a kilometer of its surroundings. Everyone turned into ashes except for the emperor; even their souls were burned to ashes.

He survived, but his body was melted so badly that only two of his limbs were left. Half of his lifespan vanished from him, and his crown also turned into ashes.

The crown was one of the two greatest treasures of his royal family, other than his life-saving talisman, and it was passed down since the first emperor who obtained this treasure inside the storage dimension on a corpse inside the tomb of an Immortal cultivator that the first emperor raided. At that time, the first emperor, Roulf Roux, who was still a tomb raider, built the empire using the treasures that he obtained.

He gritted his teeth and was about to use his life-saving treasure when he realized something.

Emperor Vonne was frightened, but his eyes glowed with excitement because he knew that the crown was not just some treasure that can be found in their realm. It was a treasure of a cultivator from the higher realm who died here in Sphere Ingusse.

To destroy this treasure, one must possess a similar power. In other words, higher-realm cultivators.

He thought that it was worth it since he was already in a sorry state with half of his lifespan left.

His excitement stemmed from the possibility of meeting a higher-realm cultivator or a treasure that came from a higher realm. Of course, he was still afraid of the possibility of dying if ever the higher-realm cultivator or the treasure killed him instantly. But the thought of meeting a higher-realm cultivator suppressed his fears. He could curry favor and, if lucky, also obtain a cultivation method of the higher realm. Or if it were a treasure, then he would have a great advantage over others.

But the logic was too one-sided. His mind was affected by greed, thinking that a higher-realm cultivator will not go down here in the shabby realm for sightseeing and must have wanted something here, or if possible, what will come out is a heaven-defying treasure. With that in mind, he thought that helping the higher-realm cultivator will be a great thing, even if the higher-realm cultivator asked for every human life. Not that he could fight the higher-realm cultivator if he opposed, but he could guarantee his life because he had another great treasure of his family, a talisman which is his life-saving treasure. To be precise, it is a realm tunneling talisman. With that, he could go to another lower realm to escape. He already had his blood on the talisman and just needed to channel his Qi to activate it.

But contrary to his expectation, it was not a cultivator or heaven-defying treasure that came out; instead, it was an infant.

The surrounding was covered by death Qi, a Qi that can only be found in ancient graveyards and warzones.

The only area that was brimming with potent vitality was the area around the infant.

It was as if the death Qi was a loyal guard of the infant, guarding it from danger outside, while the potent vitality was the maid who was holding the child with extreme care.

When he found that the child contained so much Qi that it surpassed the one he felt when he saw the goddesses supervising outside the village, he immediately wanted to control or just absorb the infant. He fantasized about himself ruling the entire planet and f*cking the beautiful goddesses. But he still wouldn't do it as it was only a fantasy of his.

He was already a kilometer away from the dungeon, and his lifespan was reduced to just twenty years. His only limb left was his right foot as his remaining arm had fallen off.

After drinking all his elixirs, he was only left with fifteen years of life.

When the Imperial Palace learned of the news, they put everything on high alert to rescue the emperor. Once the emperor was stable, he ordered his General to see what happened in the cave.

The death Qi was still there, and the general, whenever coming close to the death Qi, felt a fierce gaze that made him frightened to the core; his soul was screaming death to him. The general never told the emperor about that gaze, and instead would have been delighted if the emperor were to die if he touched the infant.

Only after three months did the death Qi and the extremely potent vitality disperse on their own. Before the death Qi vanished, it made sure that no life remained around for a hundred miles. The cultivators that were guarding around the death Qi died.

Upon hearing the news, the king ordered the general to go again and see if he can get the infant.

Before he obtained the infant, the emperor ordered his loyal shadows to assassinate the General.

When the infant was in the hands of the emperor, he did not feel the fierce gaze.

Someone was looking at him full of ridicule and expectation.

The gaze was then averted to somewhere in the empire.

"Finally," A voice that only a certain man could hear resounded in the place where the infant first appeared. It was the melodic voice of a woman.

"I know you are here and can see me, now take care of my child, sadistic pervert." The voice conveyed longing and loneliness. The gaze disappeared a minute later after staring in a certain direction.
