The hand Chen Susu had painted with wine-red nail polish clamped down hard on Lu Qi's arm, those long nails digging straight into his skin. Her face was full of anger, like she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Kids' skin is tender to begin with. With that pinch, tears sprang right out of Lu Qi's eyes, and a thin mist instantly clouded his big, dark pupils:
"Ow… Mom… it really hurts, you're hurting me, let go… let go…"
But Chen Susu ignored him, instead tightening her grip even more, her face dark with rage: "Didn't I already tell you not to eat candy? Your Grandpa won't like it! Who told you you could—"
Lu Qi really couldn't hold it in anymore. At the end of the day, he was only a five-year-old kid. He immediately burst into tears from the pain, struggling desperately:
"Mom, wuwu… it hurts, it really, really hurts…"
