Scarlett Xavier was so tormented by him today that she hadn't recovered, wondering how he could have the face to say this.
Just then, her phone started ringing, and Scarlett said, "Let me take this call first."
She struggled to push Julian Rhodes away, stood up to get the phone, and found that it was Jane Cheney calling.
Since they parted in Solisle last time, Scarlett had only been liking Jane's posts on social media daily, and the two hadn't chatted much.
Now that Jane was calling, Scarlett was quite surprised.
She answered the call and said, "Sister-in-law."
Jane's voice was very gentle, "Are you free tomorrow night?"
Scarlett said, "I am! Sister-in-law, you're back?"
Jane said, "Tomorrow's flight, arriving in the afternoon. Let's have dinner together in the evening. Bring Julian along."
Scarlett nodded, "Okay."
She agreed almost without any hesitation.
After hanging up, Scarlett eagerly told Julian, "Sister-in-law is back."
Julian's eyes lit up upon hearing this.
