For those of you unfamiliar with Manora, it is at the northeastern end of the Itenar continent, and a chain of islands in that area, and other colonies pretty much around the world. Their ships were the ones who first sailed far enough east to be west, theirs the vessels that poked around in the frozen waters trying to find a passage through, and who had more or less done half of all nautical achievements first.
So, like most foreigners, I had expected to find Manora replete with trees and sawmills.
No such luck; more farmland awaited me across the river. If I hadn't seen the stone bridge that merchants used, I might not have even noticed it was Manora.
Farmlands gave way to more farmlands. Where I expected sheep, I saw pigs. Fields of wheat and corn and rye ... stayed those crops. Instead of vast forests, there were tiny diamond-shaped lots of wood between four or so farms, no more than six.
