Harlow didn't sleep well.
When she finally came out of her room the next morning, her eyes were swollen and her hair was a mess. Beth and Dorian took one look at her and immediately pulled her back inside to fix her up.
"Your Highness can't go home looking like this," Beth said as she brushed Harlow's long white hair. "His Majesty will think we didn't take care of you."
"Which His Majesty?" Harlow grumbled. "My father or your master?"
The two maids exchanged glances and giggled.
"Both," said Dorian.
Harlow rolled her eyes, but she let them do their work. Strangely, she was going to miss them. When she first came here, she thought everyone in this castle was hideous and scary. Now she knew that it was only Raphael's magic making her see them that way, and she had gotten used to their kind faces anyway.
When she was ready, she went down to the great hall.
