SAMANTHA pulls up outside of THE CHURCH, AUSTIN looking about as ADAM stands beside her, eying her as SAMANTHA stares the church down with dis content.
ADAM looks at the CHURCH as AUSTIN scans a SCHEMATIC into the COMPUTER.
AUSTIN
So where is CHARLES and JARED being held?
ADAM
The back end, in the FOYER.
AUSTIN

SAMANTHA
Upload it to me.
SAMANTHA pulls out her phone as AUSTIN uplinks the marked file to her, SAMANTHA scanning it over as she marks the large area back area of the CHURCH.
SAMANTHA
ADAM...
ADAM
Yes?
SAMANTHA
Is that where they're holding the ritual?
ADAM
It seems to be.
SAMANTHA

ADAM

SAMANTHA

AUSTIN
Why don't we wait and figure out a better course of action then just barn storming into the CHURCH...
SAMANTHA

FLASHBACKS
INT. ROOM
SAMANTHA wakes up as she looks at the WINDOW as the sun is beating down, SAMANTHA huffing as she lays back down and feels her hand smack against flesh, instead of bed.
SAMANTHA perks up and quickly turns over as she looks to see ADAM sleeping with no shirt on, SAMANTHA looking at him in horror before she palm strikes him in the face, ADAM waking up as he screams in pain as he falls off of his bed, SAMANTHA quickly covering up as she looks to see is naked, ADAM holding onto his nose as blood was running down it freely.
ADAM
WHAT THE FUCK!
SAMANTHA
You raped me!
ADAM
What?!
SAMANTHA
I don't know, how the fuck did I get here?
ADAM
I drove you! From the bar...last night?
SAMANTHA
Did I get drunk?
ADAM
Probably you had like thirteen whiskey shooters.
SAMANTHA
Goddamnit. Did we?
ADAM
Yeah, for like three hours.
SAMANTHA
Three hours?
ADAM
Yeah. Sex marathon.
SAMANTHA

SAMANTHA

ADAM comes over as SAMANTHA takes his nose with her thumbs and snaps it back in place, ADAM wincing and yelps in pain as SAMANTHA pushes him away from her.
SAMANTHA

ADAM

SAMANTHA

SAMANTHA pushes him off of his bed again, as ADAM curses, SAMANTHA smiling as she looks out the window.
SAMANTHA
(O.S.)
He was cute, tall...and most importantly, he took my abuse. I suppose that's what made it easier for me to keep coming back...
MONTAGE
SAMANTHA goes on patrols while she texts ADAM, the TWO at the BAR, then back at ADAMS, then away as SAMANTHA continues this trend.
SAMANTHA
We weren't going to leave TUCSON just yet, not when we knew that something big was going to go down, so we stayed in state, going no farther than a few towns out to handle cases. I spent what time I could with ADAM, and for the first time in a long time...I was...happy.
INT. BAR
ADAM and SAMANTHA are laughing as ADAM excuses himself and goes to the bathroom, SAMANTHA ordering a few more as a FIGURE comes up to the BAR TOP beside her.
FIGURE
You're supposed to be hunting...
SAMANTHA looks over to see AUSTIN BLACK, whose young and more brooding.
AUSTIN
How have you been?
SAMANTHA

You're getting sloppy.
SAMANTHA
Nothing's happened, we're taking it case by case until it does, so until then I'm entitled to a life of my own.
AUSTIN

SAMANTHA
I haven't...no one...has seen you in like almost a year and you show up telling me how to run my life? Not cool AUSTIN.
AUSTIN
You would have been dead hadn't I...
SAMANTHA
Look I know, thanks. I always will be grateful for that. But I chose to become a hunter and to do things my way, that's why me and you stopped working as a team.
AUSTIN
We stopped working as a team, because your personal feelings became too involved in what we do.
SAMANTHA
MY personal feelings?! You asshole, what did we spend 78 percent of all our time doing?! Saving other people? Finding monsters?! NO. We spent it looking for your goddamn fucking brother. So don't ever condemn me for having personal relationships when your whole monster hunting career is dedicated to a personal vendetta.
AUSTIN

SAMANTHA

ADAM

ADAM comes over and extends a hand, as SAMANTHA looks a bit embarrassed.
SAMANTHA
This is AUSTIN BLACK, a MONSTER HUNTER. He's come to help us find the SLASHERS.
ADAM
Nice, name's ADAM.
AUSTIN shakes his hand and nods at him before he turns to SAMANTHA.
AUSTIN
I'll stick around town, see what I can find, maybe go talk to RYAN...
SAMANTHA

AUSTIN
ADAM, it was good meeting you, I hope for the best.
ADAM

AUSTIN
Let's hope not.
AUSTIN heads off as VICKY walks into the BAR past AUSTIN, AUSTIN smiling at her before heading past her, VICKY smiling as she walks over to ADAM.
VICKY
Did you forget we have to go see mom and dad's grave or are you just too busy not giving a shit?
ADAM
VICKY...oh dammit, I forgot...SAMANTHA...
SAMANTHA
No it's alright, I probably should go on patrol anyways.
ADAM
Are you going to show up later?
SAMANTHA

ADAM

SAMANTHA

SAMANTHA smiles and the TWO kiss as VICKY eyes her before watching ADAM head off, VICKY close behind before she stops and comes over to SAMANTHA.

SAMANTHA
It's okay. VICKY, is it? ADAM mentioned he had a sister.
VICKY
Yeah. He's not great with first names I'm guessing. Anyways, thanks for helping him...MONSTER HUNTER...
SAMANTHA

VICKY
I know who you are, RYAN talked about you for a while...
SAMANTHA stares VICKY down as VICKY looks at her the same way.
SAMANTHA
So you're ADAM'S brother and RYAN'S little couch therapist.
VICKY
Yep.
SAMANTHA
Suppose I should thank you.
VICKY

SAMANTHA
Taking RYAN off of my hands.
VICKY

SAMANTHA

VICKY
You heard me. Enjoy my brother for now, but you and him both know when everything is over, you'll just leave and forget him. And he'll forget about you. But RYAN, you're always going to see him, he's going to always be around, be a part of your life. Sooner or later, you'll get it.
VICKY heads off after her brother as SAMANTHA sits with a flabbergasted.
INT. THE STING
RYAN and NICK sit in the STING as NICK was eating a foot long hot dog, RYAN looking over the notes they had written down as RYAN closes the notepad.
RYAN
So this goddamn VAMPIRE comes to this spot every night? He has to be a newly initiated one because this is not a very spot feeding ground.
NICK
No arguments there.
RYAN
Will you stop stuffing your fat fucking face with food.
NICK

RYAN

RYAN
This damn VAMPIRE needs to hurry it's fucking ass, I need to kill something.
NICK looks about as he puts the hot dog away, NICK looks at RYAN as RYAN taps his finger to his mouth as he seems impatient.
NICK

RYAN

NICK
Are you doing alright? How's everything with that VICKY chick or whatever?
RYAN
It's fine, just paying attention to the job at hand.
NICK
And that's the problem.
RYAN

NICK

RYAN

A DARK FIGURE suddenly shoots by the STING towards the ALLEYWAY, NICK and RYAN quickly getting out as they take off after it.
INT. ALLEY
A WOMAN is texting as she walks down the ALLEY towards her CAR on the other side, not noticing the DARK FIGURE slinking up behind her from the DARKNESS.
The WOMAN screams as she is slammed against the wall, The WOMAN trying to fight and kick the assailant off as the VAMPIRE bares it's ROWS OF TEETH as it begins to force itself down onto her neck.
NICK arrives and grabs the VAMPIRE off as he slams it against the other side of the wall as RYAN runs over to the WOMAN.
RYAN
RUN!
The WOMAN nods and takes off to her car as NICK is shoved off by the VAMPIRE with enough force to slam into the other building. RYAN turning as he grips SHARLENE (His baseball bat) and takes a swing at the VAMPIRE, The VAMPIRE ducking as the VAMPIRE punches RYAN in the chest.
RYAN hits the wall as NICK stands and runs after the VAMPIRE as it took off towards the WOMAN who was now starting her car, NICK tackling it as she drives off as RYAN comes over slams the BAT into the back of the VAMPIRES spine, The VAMPIRE hissing in pain as it back hands RYAN, RYAN flying backwards as RYAN hits a window and goes through it with all his force, NICK screaming for RYAN as the VAMPIRE grabs NICK and slams his head against the ground, NICK looking stunned as the VAMPIRE touches the back of NICK'S HEAD as it was gashed open, the VAMPIRE tasting it as it shakes and shutters with delight.
VAMPIRE
I normally only like tasting women's blood...but yours will do just well...
NICK looks at the VAMPIRE groggily as a FIGURE appears behind the VAMPIRE as the VAMPIRE was rearing its head back to slam it's TEETH into NICK'S NECK.
The VAMPIRES HEAD SUDDENLY EXPLODES as NICK scoots back as the VAMPIRE'S GORE EXPLODED onto him, NICK looking to see RYAN huffing as the BASEBALL BAT was covered in the VAMPIRES HEAD FRAGMENTS.
RYAN spins the VAMPIRES BODY OVER as NICK stands, RYAN helping him as RYAN spins the bat.
RYAN
This BAT is the fucking shit.
NICK
Thank you.
RYAN
No problem man.
NICK
Is it...dead?
RYAN
Yeah, but sometimes it's just good to be sure.
RYAN begins slamming the bat into the DEAD VAMPIRE'S BODY, RYAN watching as the CHEST caved inwards with each strike.
SAMANTHA
(O.S.)
Things were just going by the wayside. A VAMPIRE here and there...a GHOST or a SLASHER but never the TWO we needed. But on this night...AUGUST 22ND...everything would change.
INT. ADAM'S ROOM
SAMANTHA lays on ADAM'S CHEST as she lit up a cigarette, ADAM rubbing her shoulders as she takes a few drags and hands it to him, ADAM taking a few before giving it back.
SAMANTHA
I don't know how long we'll be here...it's been nearly 3 weeks, and nothing happened. I think...I don't know I think maybe we just miscalculated where they were heading.
ADAM
It's alright, either way, you're close enough to the area that at least if they do show up somewhere you won't be that far behind.
SAMANTHA
You're always so damn optimistic, I hate you.
ADAM
You love it.
SAMANTHA
Maybe.
He kisses her head as she puts the cigarette out and lays her head back down as she looks worried.
SAMANTHA
Is it true...
ADAM
Uhh...what?
SAMANTHA
Do you think when I leave...we'll just forget about each other?
ADAM
Wasn't that the idea in the first place?
SAMANTHA

ADAM

SAMANTHA

ADAM
I guess...I don't know, it's going to be hard to try and keep this...going. I think me and you both know that. Especially with your profession.
SAMANTHA

ADAM

SAMANTHA looks at him as he looks at her, the TWO kiss as she smacks him across the face.
SAMANTHA
Get up, you owe me breakfast.
ADAM ruffles her hair as SAMANTHA punches him in the sternum, ADAM sucking wind as SAMANTHA gets up and starts to get dressed.
EXT. POOL
RYAN throws VICKY into the POOL as RYAN jumps in after he does, NICK smiling as CHARLES comes over and takes a seat handing him a BEER as JARED looks out the WINDOW and sneers.
CHARLES
We're losing more and more clues about these SLASHERS...the fact that AUSTIN showed up and left means there's nothing here, usually.
NICK
AUSTIN isn't right all the time.
CHARLES
Pretty close.
NICK
See those two...
CHARLES notices RYAN and VICKY talking, the two with smiles on their faces before RYAN dunks her under the water.
NICK
You think they even care?
CHARLES
I'm not surprised, it's RYAN.
NICK
Yeah, but, look at him man. He looks happy. How often do people like us get to have that kind of happiness?
CHARLES
Not a whole lot.
NICK
Nope. So why not just wait a few more days? They deserve to enjoy this time.
CHARLES
It's not about what they deserve. That's how people die.
NICK
People die anyways. So what's the big deal?
CHARLES
We'll know soon enough I'm sure.
The TWO take a drink as RYAN and VICKY continue their POOL war.
EXT. VAN
SAMANTHA gets in as ADAM shuts her door, leaning on the WINDOW as he smiles.
SAMANTHA
Guess I'll be seeing you later?
ADAM
Guess so.
SAMANTHA
I'll be back later on tonight.
ADAM
Alright, see you then.
The TWO kiss as SAMANTHA drives off, ADAM watching her go as he doesn't notice the PALE YOUNG WOMAN staring at him from across the street where the VAN was hiding her.
ADAM notices her as she comes over and whispers into his ear, ADAM stepping back as she smiles. ADAM looks about as FRANKIE YATES paces around him. ADAM raises an eyebrow as she leads him off.
RYAN and NICK load up the STING as RYAN turns to VICKY.
RYAN
We got a meet up with SAMANTHA, but once we're done, I'll take you out for dinner or something.
VICKY
Sounds great, I got a thing so I have to go get ready for that.
RYAN
Alright, let me know how it goes.
VICKY
Yeah, like you care.
RYAN
I don't but still..
VICKY
Shut up
RYAN smiles and gets into the STING, NICK waving her off as VICKY waves back, RYAN revving the car up as he then takes off, VICKY watching them go as BLONDE HAIRED MAN walks by her, whispering into her ear.
VICKY looks at him as SHANE YATES nods to her, VICKY raising an eyebrow as she follows him.
EXT. COFFEE SHOP
RYAN and NICK get out of the STING as they come over to SAMANTHA, JARED and CHARLES who were already at their daily COFFEE SHOP TABLE.
The FIVE lay out the map and RYAN crosses out another town that borders TUCSON.
RYAN
Another random attack, however it's the same M.O. One monster, multiple victims, but no further occurrences.
NICK
And they're all getting closer...
SAMANTHA
The one you took care of last night was in the closest town to TUCSON...so that means...
JARED
More and likely...they're coming...soon.
RYAN
Shit.
AUSTIN
Seems like we're getting closer.
The FIVE look to see AUSTIN come in and grab a seat as he pulls up to RYAN, RYAN extending a fist as AUSTIN smirks and pumps it.
SAMANTHA
So you came back.
AUSTIN
I never left, just observed from afar. And it's coming. I don't know when or how. These SLASHERS M.O isn't as cut and dry.
SAMANTHA
How do you figure?
AUSTIN
There's a key component we all overlooked. Something we didn't even bother to check because we were too focused on the singular goal.
AUSTIN lays out a stack of files as everyone grabs them.

These are all the victims?
AUSTIN
Read over the highlighted area of each one.
SAMANTHA

All the victims were killed, but they also had OLDER BROTHERS. Who are currently missing.
SAMANTHA

SAMANTHA pulls out her phone as she dials ADAM'S NUMBER, SAMANTHA getting nothing as RYAN does the same with VICKY.
CHARLES
ADAM and VICKY...
JARED

RYAN
Goddamnit! She's not answering me!
SAMANTHA
ADAM'S not doing the same...
AUSTIN
Then we're running out of...
SAMANTHA'S phone goes off as SAMANTHA quickly answers it.
SAMANTHA
ADAM!

SAMANTHA...

ADAM, baby where are you...?!
Everyone looks at her but RYAN looks the most horrified.
ADAM
(O.S.)
They're letting me...say goodbye to you...
SAMANTHA

ADAM
(O.S.)
They're going to...
a SHRIEK can be heard as SAMANTHA trembles as the sound of flesh and gutting can be heard, the sound of a MAN coughing and gurgling blood can heard as SAMANTHA screams, JARED and CHARLES coming over to her as AUSTIN comes by RYAN who is shaking.
SAMANTHA drops the phone as she drops to her knees, the sounds of ADAM dying still playing loudly before it stops suddenly, SAMANTHA looking at the phone as a voice silently snickering can be heard.
VOICE
(O.S.)
Don't worry about him...he's not dead...well...in a sense...
SAMANTHA
I'm going to fucking KILL YOU!!
VOICE
(O.S.)
We have freed him from his body, from his earthly tomb...now he will wander...a PHANTOM...a lost soul searching for his purpose...The clock to save him is over...but the clock to save the girl...is slowly ticking away...
The PHONE hangs up and SAMANTHA shakes as she tosses her phone, RYAN coming over to her.
RYAN
VICKY?!
SAMANTHA
She doesn't have a lot of time...
RYAN
Then let's go, let's go find her.
SAMANTHA
It won't matter.
RYAN
What?!
SAMANTHA
We can't save her. Might as well just...
CHARLES
Do you hear yourself?!
JARED
SAMANTHA...
SAMANTHA
Let's just go...let's just pack up and go...
RYAN
You fucking bitch, you dare let her die because we failed to stop them before they got to ADAM...
SAMANTHA
Don't you ever say his name! It's your fault and mine that he's dead...hadn't you just...
RYAN smacks her across the face, SAMANTHA looking at RYAN in wide eyed horror as RYAN lets a tear fall from his eyes.
RYAN
I'm going to save VICKY...so why not just sit here...and rot.
RYAN hurries off as JARED and CHARLES look torn before they quickly follow, SAMANTHA not moving as she looks over to AUSTIN, who shakes his head.
SAMANTHA trembles as AUSTIN heads out, SAMANTHA left all alone as she begins to weep.
