Within He Clan, Heron Lord He An convened a meeting with several elders and his three children.
He Chen's wound had healed, but the arm he had lost was still missing. His father had yet to find suitable material for a replacement.
The missing arm was not what kept him silent. Losing Brother Feng weighed on him more heavily. He had come because his presence was required, but had no desire to join the discussion.
He Zhan and He Chuan looked at him with sympathy. As a sister, He Chuan almost broke into tears at the sight of her soulless little brother.
He Chen sat close enough to hear every word and gave no sign that any of it mattered to him. The others could argue about where the family should go or whom it should serve. None of their choices would bring his brother back.
