After he picked up the sword, Sern saw that the blood had left a trail for him to follow. He needed to toughen himself up if he wanted to return. Facing the monster that did this won't be easy.
Sern started following the trail closely, keeping a distance from it incase anybody was watching.
The trail led to an innocuous cave deeper inside the forest. Infront of the entrance were two goblins standing guard. They each held a sharp stick and an unlit torch by their waists ready to be used by night.
Sern was observing the two goblins behind a bush when somebody with a coat adorned in purple symbols approached the entrance. The goblins immediately fixed their postured and stepped to the side, Sern could sense the fear in their eyes. Justified fear.
The mysterious person suddenly walked towards a goblin and whispered something in its ears. He then ventured inside like nothing had happened. But something did happen as the goblin in question suddenly fell to its knees, gasping for air. Sern could tell that the goblin was going to die soon. The other goblin broke formation to check on his friend who was dying painfully.
Sern slowly left the bushes and crouched towards the goblins. With a sword in his hands he went behind the goblin and slashed at it!

"graghh!!!"
The goblin felt a sudden pain from behind as it saw Sern holding a sword, dripping with its blood. Sern struck once more before the goblin could react.

The goblin, writhing in pain decided to throw a kick towards Sern.

Sern reeled from the sudden kick landing in his abdomen. He would have normally fell down to his knees, but his entire body was riddled by adrenaline now. He quickly rose back up and started clashing with the goblin!
He grazed the goblin.

The goblin managed to use its sharp stick to impale sern on the shoulder

And finally, Sern dealing the finishing blow to the goblin.

Sern quickly opened the ability shop while bleeding from his wounds.Desperate for a way to stop the bleeding.

When sern saw Minor Restoration he instantly purchased it
"Lesser restoration!"
He quickly muttered the spell's name hoping to heal himself. He was then enveloped by a faint green aura that mended a part of his injuries.
When it was over, he stood up and slayed the remaining goblin, putting it out of its misery.

Sern spilled the goblin's blood off the sword and then ventured inside the cave.
It was dark in here, he couldn't see much but felt how cold it was. There were several makeshift houses made of hay and other primitive materials.
Several goblins were walking with a torch in hand, doing various tasks around the cave. Their numbers were definitely enough to overwhelm Sern.
Realizing he had no other options, Sern started sneaking around again, hiding from place to place and advancing deeper inside.
He was avoiding all the goblins with torches while passing through the darkness like a shadow.
He saw two baby goblins sleeping peacefully inside an unsupervised cradle inside a building he had entered to avoid detection. He reached out to his sword and was about to swing before he stopped himself midway through. He was disgusted by how easily he decided to kill these children for some "Blank points". Those children might have been goblins but they were still children regardless, he left the babies alone and ventured further ahead.
Further ahead he saw the presumed parents of the babies. Two goblins who were both sleeping together.
Sern quickly tried leaving this building but it was too late. One of the babies woke up and started crying, in turn it's parents woke up and saw Sern.
"Grahhhhhh!"
Screamed one of the goblins as they lunged at Sern.
Sern immediately turned around and started running for his life. The other goblin went to presumably call for backup. He could not win even if he had infinite restarts! He ran deeper inside the cave to lose the goblins, but they kept finding him somehow. Anywho, he realized that he had to leave the cave immediately. But there were no chances to do that. He was basically surrounded like a small rat in the middle of a pack of cats. All he could do was run deeper inside.
"Hey! Over here!" Screamed someone with a feminine voice. The voice was coming from inside a building made of stone.
Sern had no choice but to follow that voice.
He quickly entered the building and saw a woman chained to the walls. She was a woman of roughly 30 years of age who looked slightly muscular. Her clothing was tattered and her body was full of many types of injuries.
"Quickly! Break the chains!" She screamed at Sern.
"How!" Sern replied before slamming his sword against the chains. No effect.
Sern was starting to panic. His breathing was becoming unsteady while he kept striking the chains to no avail.
"Ugh... If only my arm wasn't broken... I would have never been caught..."
Upon hearing those words, Sern started to memtally scream as he realized he had a spell to hopefully restore her injuries.
"Minor restoration!" He shouted while his palm faced the woman's arm. A sudden blast of energy shot forward and was absorbed inside the woman.

he saw that he needed to get arrow for shooting and decided not to take bow and swords would be ineffective against ranged so he choosed magic wand and spell and basic knowledge
