No-one moved, well he had not really given them a reason to feel doubt, grinning to himself David mass teleported Steph, himself, and everyone else into the training grounds below North Brother island.
As expected, it shocked many people, strangely more the men than the woman, sharing that thought with Steph he got a very blunt reply, 'Of course, in this time any woman who managed to not only apply but get a job seen as man's work would have a strong will.'
"Very well, sort your minds out. Yes, I just moved you all to a different location. If you feel you cannot handle that little bit of information please go see Stephenie, she will ensure you are able to return to your old role without any issues."
As he was talking a thought occurred to him, 'Steph if I gave you all the woman who show potential to act as a special force. They could get the same temporary nanite implant training you did, and we would use them as an intelligence gathering and protection unit.'
Steph nodded and she noticed no-one was coming over to her, she felt a bit relieved since she nominated these people, GCA only did the background checks.
One of the women raised her hand, raising his brow David nodded for her to speak, "Sir, is that your thing? I mean like Ms. Stephenie is really strong, when we were clearing trees she helped and wow … she just ripped them right out the ground"
David's head turned to Steph who was intently checking something in a far corner, trying to look innocent.
"Well, since we this far, and to avoid misunderstandings, it is one of mine, yes. Stephenie is a lot stronger than most people as she is at the peak of the human limit, but that is not her gift. That strength is from a serum, something I will be offering all of you today. What I will offer you will find hard to believe, missing out on this opportunity or not is up to you "
A low murmuring filled the large open space, David kept quiet, allowing it to settle naturally.
"Let me be clear, I am offering you the ability to perform at peak human performance physically. I am offering you an extended life span. I am offering your immediate family homes on the island and extended lives. Some of you may even gain more than that, although that depends on your own genetic makeup. The catch is, you will never be able to betray or leave my service, you will have something inside you that will notify me the moment you try, and then it will take your life."
Amazingly most of the women stepped forward almost immediately, looking towards Steph and the grin on her lips, it seemed he had greatly underestimated women's desire for equality. Being a male from a time woman were equals, he could not even guess at the struggles they went through to get this chance.
He left Steph to process the trusted security and pick those she wanted as the start of her unit. A few of them, after processing and training, would be back to their normal roles to keep an eye on the rest of the security teams. The same day their families were notified of their promotions and that they had a few days to prepare to move. Overall, it went allot smoother than David had anticipated.
Adapting a section of the hospital as a school he had GCA use her body as a teacher. She would be teaching any children at a higher level in the hopes some might show an aptitude for it.
