Chapter 103 - SIR, I AM SORRY, I DON'T KNOW YOUR WIFE

" Honey, didn't you celebrate birthdays, things like that? I am sure you could tell me about those memories?"

"What is there to tell? The only two people who remember my birthday are dead. Now, please stop asking me things I don't want to remember?"

Torren kneeling before her, looking her in the eyes, seeing the tears rolling down her face. Desperation infiltrated his inner being, shattering his heart into tiny pieces. Unable to comprehend what could have brought about such heartache.

Wanting to test the waters to understand exactly what is causing such heartache, "Sweetheart, I am not your enemy. I love you, and if you want to forget the past, I have no problem with that. But honey, I will not forget how we met, and my first kiss in the rose garden. Also, the special dinner we shared, honey and when I held you in my arms to dance on my feet. I will cherish those memories. Sweetheart, I want to make even more beautiful memories with you. Will you listen to me? Because of you. I was able to overcome the horrible memories of my past."

Wiping her face, Torren coaxed, "Sweetheart, I love you, so tell me what is so special about this day that brings you such pain?"

"Nothing," Ignoring her pain, Shawney held his hand and kissed the back of his palm. "Honey, please don't be angry, but I just remembered I have to get a few things done. I will leave word at the front to make arrangements with someone to get a vehicle for you to drive around the village."

Before Torren could hold her, she swiftly avoided his hand and rushed out of the room, as if the devil was behind her.

Just looking at her go, thinking, 'I am certain that this day holds some significant memories that she is not revealing, and it gives her great pain. Maybe her family might enlighten me a bit.'

Torren did as she mentioned and went to the reception office.

The young lady felt a chill run down her spine. Not favouring him, the instant she notices the coldness on his face. Not a slight smile.

Afraid that she might offend him, she summoned the courage to be professional and spoke softly. "Yes, Sir, can I help you?"

"Young lady, I need the address of Curtis and Sid Wayman, please."

"Just one minute, Sir," she ducked her head into a room, "Jake, can you help out here?"

When the Jake person steps out and asks, "Yes, Sir, how can I assist you?"

"I would like to get Sid and Curtis ' addresses, please."

"I am sorry, Sir, but I don't know these persons you mention?"

"What nonsense? How is it you don't know about my wife's brother's address, when they used to live here?"

"Sir, I am sorry, I don't know your wife."

Torren, not being the gentlest of persons, becomes angry "What sort of manager are you? My wife owns this resort, and you dare to say you don't know her?"

Taking in a deep breath, Jake asks, "You mean Miss Wayman?"

Becoming impatient, Torren snorted, "Yes, Miss Wayman, who else would I be referring to?"

Confused, Jake nodded and said, "Oh dear, I am so sorry, Sir, no one told us she was married, but before she left, she asked for a vehicle to be ready for a Mr MacCarty, is that you, Sir?"

Closing his eyes, Torren took a deep breath to remain calm before responding, "Yes, she was speaking about me."

Seeing the gentleman was already angry, he didn't want to aggravate him anymore. "Sir, the vehicle is not ready as yet, and Sir's family lives in town, but I am unaware of their address."

Without blinking, Torren said, "Then call her lawyer? He might reveal to me their address?"

Jake nodded and said, "Yes, Sir, I will get on it immediately, and Sir, your car should be ready within fifteen to twenty minutes."

"Thank you," Torren said, and he left.

Watching him leave, Jake then hurried and called Thomas.

Dialling quickly, Jake waited for a few seconds before the phone picked up. Hearing his voice, "Mr Thomas, Sir, can you give me Miss Wayman's brother's address, please?"

Jake waited, "Sir? I know, Sir, that has nothing to do with this business, but Sir, her husband wants the address."

Hearing him shouting, "You fool, she is not married."

"I know that, Sir, but the gentleman at the resort said his wife owns the business, and Sir, she did ask us to get a vehicle for him, so she is aware of him being here. Please give me their address; he doesn't seem to be a patient man."

"Okay, just try to delay him. I will be there shortly."

"Yes, Sir!"

Train was holding Gretta's hand as he walked into the reception office, "Good morning, my dear, Shawney said to collect the keys for a vehicle here?"

"Are you Mr MacCarty, Sir?"

"Yes, I am."

"But, Sir, another person came, a little while ago, claiming to be Mr MacCarty."

"MY dear, he is my Son, so where are the keys?"

"Sir, we have a slight delay, but the maintenance man is cleaning it and checking the water and oil. He shouldn't be much longer; he might only be about ten minutes again."

Hearing him say, "Okay, I will be back in ten minutes."

Thinking as he goes, the young lady muttered, 'At least he is reasonable, but I hope Mr Thomas reaches before the son returns, he seems to have a temper.'

Seeing how Mr Thomas was in such a rage as he entered the office, hearing him ask in such a rough tone of voice. "Let me hear what foolishness you were spouting a while ago"

"Sir, it is not foolishness. Sherry here could tell you I am not lying."

"Sir, Jake is speaking the truth, and Sir, he has a temper."

'Oh dear God, what has this child gone and done without informing me? Does she know what could happen?'

Noticing Sherry signalling him that he had returned, Thomas turned around when the Young man said.

"Young lady, have you gotten the information I requested?"
