Chapter 16 - Chapter 16:Trouble at the Cave, A Note too High

I am always doing what I cannot do yet, I order to learn how to do it.

-Vincent Van Gogh

A strong pull engulfs me and when I look up Searena was surrounded in a Gray Aura, slowly shaking. W.was I doing this to her? And why did I enjoy it?

I continue to take from Searena, feeling like her energy was coming into mine, like she was fueling me. I wanted to stop because it seemed like she was suffering but instead I continued to take from her.

This time taking more, my eyes glowing like the bright moon in the night. Searena at this time tried to escape, but I stopped her by taking more.

My body felt great from this, it was like drinking an energy drink after a long workout or drinking icy water in the dry desert.

The energy I was getting was so replenishing. I never felt anything like this

ever before in my life, it was exhilarating!

Searena then stopped trying to escape and she seemed to look absolutely horrible by this time. Her eyes carrying heavy bags and her body looking tired and fragile.

Which I assumed it was because of me.

I smiled at this fact, satisfied in a wrong but enduring way. She turned to me with a sad look, barely holding her head up and I cocked my head in question. "What is it Searen-!"

She let out a loud distorted screech and the loud noise echoed in my head causing me to let go of her energy.

I stumbled back on the ground and I felt tears in my eyes. I covered my ears, trying to stop the echoing, screaming dearly myself.

The pain was unbearable in my ears and it sounded like a loud, high-pitch child screeching right into my ears. "Ahhh!! Searena Stop your hurting-!" But, before I finish my sentence, she collapsed on the muddy floor; her pink eyes severely pale it almost looked like she was dead.

Tears leaked from her eyes and I slowly got up off the ground. Finally stopping the ringing in my ears. I heard footsteps behind me and when I turned around, it was the other Sirens.

Their reactions struck my heart hard, feeling painful and almost a slight bit of regretful.

Koi's face stood in horror and Ryan's did the same, his friendly smile leaving him, replacing with cold tears. Kai actually twitched a bit looking at Searena's almost lifeless body and he looked up to me with curiosity.

He tilted his head in question and his expression was then subtle. I couldn't tell what he was thinking anymore and before I knew it, all eyes were on me.

Did they know what I did to Searena? Did they know I enjoyed it? And if it wasn't for her Screech did they know I would have took a bit more? Do they know of my Envy? My Envy as a Siren.
