Chapter 2 - Static

The radio static cuts through my sleep, piercing into my brain. I groan and reach of to turn it off. I look at the time to see it's only 3am. 3am...I'm not superstitious or anything but it seems like a weird coincidence. I shake my head, trying to forget the thought and lay back down. As soon as I get comfortable, it starts again. I open my eyes again, wide awake now, starting to shake as I thought that an invisible force seemed to be behind this. I snap the radio off faster this time, at the same time turning my lamp on to see....nothing...nothing was in my room. I look at the radio and decide to unplug it. When I reached down I was horrified to find it was already unplugged....

The static didnt go away. The next few days I layed in bed, wishing it would cease. It rang in my eardrums as though a siren was blaring through the house, but this...this seemed to be worse some how. No matter what i did, the static sound was there. Then one day I heard something else. I heard....voices. it was mostly mumbling until I heard a voice that said something that sent chills down my back as though I had stepped into an freezer. It said " I dont think she likes the sound of the static from the tv." A voice replied in a cold tone "shes in a coma, it's not like she can hear anything. They dont think she will ever wake up." And with that the static sound got louder and louder until I screamed, screamed and screamed, trying to be heard over the sound of the static. Tears rolled down my face as I stopped and sat down in defeat, realizing I was never going to escape the static sound, stuck in this limbo between life and death...forever.
