Chapter 16 - Blair

Feeling the tingling sensation coursing throughout her body, Agri quickly snapper herself out of her self-made fantasy.

A blush of shame and a faint glimmer of disbelief at her own thoughts made her quickly distract herself by looking at Blair's pensive expression, a mischievous grin forming on her lips as she hoped that the fire demoness would be stupid enough to attack Adam.

Either unaware, or reluctant, to acknowledge a devils powerful contamination capabilities, already subtly altering her desires, planting seeds of 'growth'.

'I couldn't deal with that demon brute Roh, nor Lord… wait, what's my Lord's name?' Agri was caught in this realization, a momentary flicker of her shock caused by her chaotic nature.

She had forgotten to obtain a crucial detail from the devil she was trying to seduce!

Yet, such a nature was true to how a demon was; uncaring and impulsive, Adam had never given them his name because of this very nature of theirs, also forgetting to mention his name.

Blair looked up, her voice a cold verdict after considering Agri's words, "Liar, now tell me the truth, or be burnt to ashes and your soul devoured to be a measly treat for me." Her blazing golden eyes now had a hint of anger and annoyance.

"What? Why do you think I'm lying?" Agri asked with a genuine expression of confusion.

Blair's expression was one of disgust and contempt.

"You're too weak for starters," she spat, and Agri's face finally showed coldness at the insult, "And secondly, the lord showed interest in me when observing the newcomers," A condescending smile appeared on Blair's face, "Which means that he thinks I'm better suited towards his preferences."

Both demons were natural beauties, but one couldn't say that one was better than the other. It was only due to Blair's overwhelming pride that she adamantly believed she was more beautiful.

Perhaps only taste would dictate which one was more beautiful than the other, but even then, it would only be for the individual at hand.

Agri's eyes twitched as she saw the 'idiotic' demon self righteously claim her own beauty.

'Preferences?' The word sparked something within Agri's mind, causing her to recall what she had discovered when she first met Adam: his odd appreciation for purity.

She decided to tell her first truth, but first she needed some intelligence on this new demoness.

"Fine, first of all, our Lord only likes talented young beauties." This was the lie that Agri spouted, but her eyes gleamed meticulously as she decided to try and gauge the other females strength.

"I've only been here for 3 cycles and I'm ready to refine my bloodline and leave this layer of hell, but I'll stay a bit longer for his highness." Blair stated her talent with arrogance and composure.

Agri smiled wickedly within, 'This bitch isn't a 9 year old freak like the brute from before… 3 cycles which is the same as me,' Agri gazed at Blair, faint fire particles hovering around her, 'Her strength seems to be roughly equal to me, so I can give it try.'

Hints of bloodlust also started to gleam in Agri's eyes as she decided that maybe getting rid of this obnoxious rival might be a good thing.

'Plus a strong soul like hers could be of great aid in my advancement towards the 2nd realm, or if I gave the strong soul to my lord he would… r-reward me.'

Agri's eyes gleamed hazily as she recalled Adam's words of promise.

Blair's expression was one of disgust as she saw Agri's expression falling into depravity again; seemingly as if the demons couldn't help but have dirty thoughts at any given moment.

"Hey, you dirty skank!" Blairs loud voice brought the scatter-brained Agri back into reality.

Blair's insult was so loud, that some of the closer demons who were chopping demon wood at the edge of the forest had heard it, but they all decided to ignore it as they knew that they shouldn't involve themselves with two peak lesser demons.

A peak tier demoness with a centipede like body and multiple arms gazed downwards at her figure before releasing a sigh of defeat through her insect mandible like mouth, casting one last glance of envy towards the forest's depths and continuing to cut the tree's down with her scythe like arms.

She couldn't fight in the same 'battlefield' as them, therefore, their actions unrelated to her in the slightest.

"What did you call me?!" Agri looked at Blair and screeched like a cat with its tail stepped on.

Blair once again ignored her questioning, "What else does his highness like?"

Agri, holding in her fury, smiled with scorn as she decided to tell her first truth.

"His highness," Agri said, putting mocking emphasis on the title, mocking the way Blair said it, "prefers those who are still pure."

Her eyes looked up and down Blair's seductive body, confidence swelling in her chest, "Is that something you have?"

She was making a bet on good odds.

It was common for demons to wantonly indulge in their desires, and sex was a popular pastime in the abyss of hell.

Yet, unfortunately, she had encountered someone as 'special' as her.

"Primal yin? A virgin?" Blair questioned nonchalantly. "I am one."

Agri was dumbfounded. "How?"

Blair looked insulted. "Only a true ruler of hell is worthy of me. No pathetic demon should even cast their gaze upon me."

Agri stood dumbly, staring at the beauty before her with 'awe'.

Agri had stayed pure due to, for a lack of better words, her cowardly and antisocial nature. On the other hand, Blair's pride and intelligence had lead her to elevate her own self worth to a level where most devils would scoff at.

Yet, Lady Luck was on her side, as she had met a rare devil who appreciates and desires someone like Blair.

"Is that it?" Blair looked on incredulously, seeing the 'requirements' as easily met.

Seeing Agri's disappointed face, Blair decided she had learned enough, and the horny demon had irritated her enough, "I see, then you have outlived your usefulness."

To Agri's surprise, Blair suddenly gathered a small, yet concentrated amount of fire elements under her feet and made them erupt, dashing forward with a speed that surpassed Agri's.

Her attack was instant and without hesitation, catching Agri unexpected.

In the same realm, technique, knowledge, and experience were the true determining factors of who was stronger.

Both were considered stronger than Agri, but while Roh had a near-perfect physique and fighting techniques, Blair showed a terrifying mastery over elemental control!
