Gear had never considered himself exceptional.
Not once. He lacked the strength needed to stand by his sister during her last moments. He shied away from their memories together and hid away in his own despair. He lacked the strength to save Lemon in that village with the Chimeras, and he could not even muster the strength needed to avenge everyone else.
No matter the strength he needed, no matter how strong he wished to become. . . it wasn't enough.
So when those of Six Lights appeared, when they offered a helping hand with strength he could only dream of. . . he wasn't able to repay that kindness.
They continued to be incredible, and he struggled to find the desire to continue. After he carved a grave for the last of the villagers Gear seriously considered putting aside A World's Legacy. There was a lot of soul searching he needed to do. Yet before he could even attempt to put down the game, he was sought out.
