Chapter 5 - Chapter Five

Ming Yue felt overwhelmed, her emotions threatening to spill over like a river of tears. She wondered why she had believed the law of transmigration would always favor her and make everything easier.

"Why isn't everything going according to plan?" she questioned bitterly. "Law of transmigration, won't you favor me once again?"

She envied other transmigrators who seemed to accomplish everything effortlessly, while for her, the world's laws seemed unstable and cruel. "Am I cursed? What should I do?"

To make sense of her predicament, she reflected back on her journey.

After cultivating to the third stage, Ming Yue paused her internal Qi training and began practicing an external moon art, which complemented the internal embryonic breathing technique.

At its first level, this external art made her movements appear hazy and illusory, like the moon. She used this ability to stealthily steal from the palace while training, considering it a shortcut.

Months of stealing disguised as training finally allowed her to secure enough resources. She then ventured out to gather information about the world she now inhabited—a vast place called the Holy Continent, divided into two main regions: the Land and the Ocean.

Beyond the Ocean lay the mysterious Western Land, rumored to be full of dangerous beasts and unknown threats. The Eastern Land, where she was, was divided further into four directions—north, south, east, and west—each containing many kingdoms, empires, and sects of various sizes.

These kingdoms and sects possessed conveyor gates enabling instant transfer, with their size, usage frequency, and destinations determined by the kingdom's wealth measured in spirit stones.

Spirit stones are precious cultivation resources, divided into lower, medium, and higher grades, and are often the cause of violent disputes due to their value.

Using some lower-grade spirit stones she had found hidden among gold coins, Ming Yue bought information on a secluded place perfect for building a sect—the Wistman Forest, a place avoided by humans due to its lack of treasures and rumored safety.

She chose it as a sanctuary where she could train peacefully.

After preparing, Ming Yue acquired a dead body to serve as a cover, easily found given the palace's frequent deaths.

She felt free upon arriving at her chosen destination and began constructing her sect in secret with the help of locals skilled in building and enchantments.

Despite appearing as a child, no one questioned her mature attitude, as many wonders existed in this world.

Days later, she sought to recruit followers, deciding to gather orphans since they had no affiliations and were commonly chosen in novels for sect expansion.

However, when she approached the orphans with an offer, she was met with a resounding refusal.

They explained their distrust, having been chosen by nobles before only to be discarded and blamed for troubles, leading to captures and sufferings.

Hearing this, Ming Yue was speechless, while understanding their pain Ming Yue also felt miserable herself.

This felt like an insurrection—like cannon fodders in novels gaining consciousness and rebelling—but why did it happen during her turn? Life feels incredibly unfair!
