Larry: Hey! How are you doing, buddy? Are you alright? I just saw a demon attack near your house on TV. I'm just checking you out. Reply to me as soon as possible.
I decided to respond promptly.
Ethan: I'm fine. I'm not going anywhere today, so don't worry. How about you? Are you alright?
I recalled Larry's injuries.
Yuffy's healing abilities would have come in handy, but I couldn't risk drawing attention to our deal by magically mending his wounds.
Moments later, a reply from Larry lit up my screen once again.
Larry: Good to hear that! I'm okay too. I have some business near your house. Can we meet? This evening, maybe around 6:00 PM? For a coffee, perhaps?
Ethan: Sounds good. We can catch up on your day too.
Larry: Okay! See ya later.
After sending off my reply to Larry, I casually tossed my phone onto the bedside table and fumbled for the alarm, setting it for later.

"I should take Elenna for a stroll through the demon world," I mumbled to myself. It was a plan I'd made earlier, yet all I yearned for now was a moment of solace.

I mentally echoed, 'Huh?'
'What calamity?' I pondered.
'Calamity! Big calamity! I don't know what! Don't ask me! Don't ask me!' the voice persisted.
I attempted to engage the mysterious voice within my mind. 'Who are you? Why are you talking using my voice? Also, how can you talk in my head? Is this some kind of telepathy?' I mentally probed.
I wanted to know the source of this uninvited intrusion into my thoughts and hoped to establish some form of communication.
