Chapter 3 - Chapter II

Michelle's Perspective

Why am I here again? I asked myself as I looked around the familiar mansion-like house. Somehow, I felt like this was where I was supposed to be. Maybe this place helps ease the heaviness in my chest.

I sat down in the living room and let my mind wander to thoughts of food. Suddenly, a plate of lasagna appeared in my imagination, followed by sweet desserts. I smiled at the comfort these thoughts brought.

After imagining my meal, I turned on the television. The shows playing were all my favorites from before. For a moment, it felt like I was living a normal life. I sighed softly. "Feels almost real," I whispered to myself.

Once the show ended, I began thinking about how to build my confidence, the kind that would not make people laugh at me. There was a competition coming up, and I wanted to join. I wanted to show what I could do, but first, I needed to practice.

I imagined a stage filled with people watching. It was only in my mind, but the feeling was so real. I climbed onto the stage and started performing, feeling every moment as if it were happening for real. I took a deep breath and smoothed out my clothes. Suddenly, my casual outfit transformed into a formal suit. I smiled at myself. It was amazing what lucid dreaming could do.

Life is not always happy. Sometimes, you feel like you will faint or lose the will to live in the world you belong to.

I sighed deeply, thinking about the struggles I had been through. There will be trials you have to face. It will be hard, but it will make you stronger. I told myself this, holding back tears as I continued my speech.

Our father left us. He chose his mistress. My mother loved him so much. My voice cracked. I could not finish. I felt sorry for my mother.

I took a moment, remembering the happy times. Our family laughing together, the playful teasing, even the way Dad would spoil Mom when she was moody. They were perfect together once. Would that ever come back? So many kids experience what we do. I hoped we would find a way through.

Suddenly, I heard a loud noise at the door, a banging sound that broke my thoughts. I bravely walked toward it. I could hear footsteps coming closer near the big tree outside.

How did someone get into my dream? I wasn't thinking of anyone else.

Unknown New Character's Perspective

I ran fast, away from the door. If she saw me, she might shut me out of her dream forever. That could not happen. I wanted to see her, always.

She's really good at giving speeches, I whispered, hiding behind the tree. I heard her footsteps getting closer.

"Is someone there?" she asked. She sounded scared, so cute when she's scared. Maybe if I jump out suddenly, she will faint and have a nightmare. That would be funny. But then…

Wow. She is stunning. I closed my eyes, overwhelmed. Damn, I'm done. My noise gave me away. I sighed. This is it. I cannot watch over her here anymore.

Hey! I slowly lifted my head. She was right in front of me, reaching out her hands. Was this real?

Hey, are you okay? Why do you look so scared? Time seemed to slow down. I could not help but stare at her beauty.

"Why are you here? How did you get in?" I could not speak. I was talking to my princess, the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.

When I stood up, I smiled at her. She scrunched her nose at me. She is so cute even when she's mad, I thought.

"Wait, can't you talk?" she asked, grabbing my hands like she wanted to apologize.

"No, I'm just stunned by your beauty, my lady." I noticed her cheeks flush. She was blushing!

"Come inside. I have so many questions for you" she said. Without hesitation, I followed her. She was beautiful and kind. Whoever ends up with her in real life would be lucky.

"Sit down. I'll get you some coffee" she said as she stood and headed to the kitchen.

"Wait" I stopped her. Please don't. I won't stay long.

She sat beside me and began asking questions.

"How did you get here?" she asked directly. I worried she would be mad I entered her dream without permission.

"I'm a dream traveler" I answered. She looked surprised. Didn't she know there are different kinds of lucid dreamers?

"A dream traveler? What's that?" she asked. I smiled.

"A dream traveler can enter the dreams of whoever they want and live there."

Maybe that was enough explanation. She looked smart, so I knew she would understand.

"Live there? Don't you wake up in real life?"

"Well, it's not exactly like that. Dream travelers like me can live longer in dreams than normal lucid dreamers like you." Her face showed amazement. She was really beautiful.

"Oh, I see. But why did you choose to live here? And who are you?" Can I say it's because I like her? Would she believe that?

"I watch over new lucid dreamers. That's why I picked you" I said, bowing my head with a smile.

"And you're beautiful too" I softly whispered.

"What? What did you say?" she asked, clearly confused by my words. Looks like we are going to get along just fine.

"Well, you should wake up now. I'll watch over your home" she smiled and said goodbye and waving at me before disappearing.

"You're so beautiful, my lady I don't regret living in your dream" I said as I stepped out and took a deep breath beside the tree, where I could see her whole mansion.

Here, I would watch over her home, making sure no one else could enter. I did not want her to get hurt. Here, I was safe. Soon, sleep came to me.
