Ling Chuxia had just turned around to take a step when her wrist was abruptly grasped. She looked back in surprise and found herself facing Shi Che's dark and gloomy eyes.
His brows were still tightly knit, yet he stared intently at her. His voice was hoarse as he spoke slowly, one word at a time, but decisively,
"Chuxia, what's the matter with the child? Why did you say I don't want your child?"
Ling Chuxia had not expected Shi Che to suddenly ask this question. She froze for a moment, then the worry in her eyes lessened, replaced by a coldness.
