"Don't forget, Xiaobao is still with me." Zhixi lay on the bed, face up, clutching the phone in one hand and placing the other on her lower abdomen, "He Jingyao, do you believe I could take Xiaobao and get married right away?"
"Don't believe it." He slowly drawled out these two words.
Zhixi was so angry she ground her teeth, about to issue a harsh threat, when the man suddenly chuckled lightly, "Behave, get some sleep early."
His deep and husky voice traveled through the airwaves into her ears, making them inexplicably warm as if she could feel his burning breath even across the waves.
"If you hadn't called me, I would have already been asleep!" Zhixi huffed, her voice inadvertently taking on a whiny tone.
"Hmm, my fault for dialing the wrong number." He curved his lips, his voice growing even deeper, "I'll come to pick up Xiaobao tomorrow morning. See you then."
Zhixi felt her heartbeat starting to falter again, and she let out a meek "oh."
