Zhixi turned her head to look and saw the man frowning at the flattened cake box, his thin lips tightly pursed; then, he looked up and cast her a somewhat dissatisfied glance.
A jolt went through Zhixi's heart—the cake... it seemed, had been crushed by her.
So, when he said "be careful," he meant for her not to squish the cake?
"No, it wasn't on purpose!" She explained with a flushed face.
"Hmm, I certainly wouldn't dare to blame Miss Gu," his tone was cold as ice.
"I'll just buy another one," Zhixi said irritably, yet her voice unintentionally carried a hint of grievance.
