It had been almost two weeks since Alex had taken time off to rest and take a leave to comfort his girlfriend, who was still overly worried about him. So today was his last break.
"Morning," said the girl with the smile Alex always loved.
"Morning," Alex said, extending his arms for a good morning hug, which Alex and Marsha had been sharing for almost two weeks.
For the past two weeks, Alex had lived in the annex at his grandmother's house.
In fact, Alex had said several times that he could fend for himself in her apartment, but unfortunately, Marsha wouldn't allow it. She even openly stated that she had asked the landlady, Mrs. Cleint, for permission to stay in the annex.
Mrs. Cleint didn't mind at all; in fact, she was happy to grant her granddaughter's request.
"What do you want to do today?" Alex asked first, remembering that the next day he would be back at work, as usual before the incident.
