Lex gave Tess one last look, she seemed almost relaxed as she laid in bed unconscious. The toxin that had flooded the chamber only knocked her out it seemed the old man still had some care for her. Turning around he exited the room, Elizabeth stood at the door a look of worry on her face.
"Lionel kidnapped the poor girl?" Elizabeth seemed almost appalled, her and Lionel hadn't been a thing in close to 12 years so it made sense. She hadn't gotten to see the true Lionel, the one that prioritized himself and profits above everything else.
"I'm upping the security on you and Lena, who knows what he'll try next, can you keep an eye on Tess i'm sure she'll be out of it when she wakes up."
"What about you?" She reached out placing a hand on Lex's cheek a motherly smile on her face. "You need to slow down Lex, you haven't stopped moving since the accident."
"It's because of the accident I can't stop, I'm going to find my father and put an end to this game, don't wait up for me," Lex said as he headed deeper into the mansion down towards B2's harddrive room. This whole time B2 had been contained, his abilities limited, he was connected to LuthorCorp but that was due to Lex allowing it. The device itself was still beneath Luthermansion and it was time for a reboot.
Lex had a feeling something within the system was keeping B2 trapped while slowly attempting to gain more control. He hoped Rebooting B2 would pull him out of the system, it might have other side effects but he was willing to take the risk. Looking at B2's main computer he opened the command terminal, his fingers moving without hesitation he typed:
Sudo shutdown -r now
And then pressed enter. The screen froze as the lights in the room flickered on and off as everything went dark. Lex blinked as the screen turned back on as everything seemed quiet he waited.
[Hello Mr.Luthor, it seems i've been in stasis for longer than I initially estimated]
"Did you deal with the intruder?" Lex asked looking down at the monitor.
[Mission failure, it was a trap, one designed to keep me locked within the system itself. There is something you need to know Mr.Luthor, it was my predecessor attacking the system he's still out there]
Lex froze at those words, but in hindsight it all made sense. How else could something be able to trap B2, B2 wasn't exactly smarter than his predecessor. It was simply that the corruption he had suffered during Kryptons destruction had been fixed.
"Can you beat him?" Lex asked curious.
[I have several ways of doing so, unfortunately for him the amount of processing power he holds pales in comparison to mine.]
"Good before we do that locate my father," Lex said as a smile appeared on his face.
[Locating Lionel Luthor… Found. Location… Luthor Corp, he seems to be in your office.]
"Of course," Lex said shaking his head, it truly was always a game to the man.
"Take down your predecessor once we arrive to LuthorCorp we'll be taking down mine." Lex stood exiting the room confidence in his walk.

Entering his office Lex walked over the the liquor cabinet quickly pouring himself a glass of whiskey. His father sat at his office looking out the window his back seeming small.
"How'd you get him out?" Lionel turned around his eyebrows high, "I trapped the bug within Luthercorps system so how'd you get him out?"
"You know about B2? Of course you do," Lex laughed too himself as took a seat on the edge of his desk. "I simply gave him a soft reboot, Occam's razor."
"I assure you my boy, performing a soft reboot on a twelfth level intellect is far from the simplest solution. I would know, I designed him." Lionel said standing up his eyes slowly narrowing.
"You designed him? Dad are you okay? I guess you have always had delusions of grandeur," Lex shrugged.
"Foolish boy, you were descended upon by Zod, it changed you fundamentally. Whatever you did to get rid of the kryptonian markers it's changed your biology, but it's imperfect." Suddenly Lex could see, why there had been a subtle difference to his father. He had seemed kind after his release from prison, but around the time Zod descended he became different.
"Who are you?" Lex asked standing himself to look into the eyes of the man that had raised him.
"I'm still your father, only i'm more now. Zod was a solider a foolish one at that, he could provide you with no intellect, no ambition for more." Lionel seemed to disdain the man. "I am so much more, kryptonian and human combined. Imagine Lex, the intellect of krypton's greatest scientist all right here." Lionel said as he pointed to his own head.
"So why target Tess, why target LuthorCorp if you're so much more?" Lex found himself confused.
"Because i'm still a man, I built LuthorCorp and I wanted to take it to new heights alongside me. I see now isolating you, it wasn't enough, you can have LuthorCorp i've already begun to build something greater. I'm not after LuthorCorp, i'm after the world and neither of my sons will be able to stop me. Not you, and not Clark." Lionel smirked as he began to move towards the window looking down at the city. "Soon all of this will be mine."
"Jor-El," Lex found himself muttering.
"How do you know that name?" Lionel turned around anger on his face.
"That's who descended into your body, probably to save Clark, to think it had this effect on you." Lex looked at his father seeing something else in his eyes, he had always been smart but that had always lingered more towards the business sides of things. But now he could see the same look he saw in himself, the same look he saw in the scientist he'd do anything to hire. A drive to achieve something great in the world, and it all stemmed from intellect.
Laughter, that was Lionel's response, maniacal laughter as he looked at Lex. "One son so smart it scares me and the other the personification of a warrior, a true specimen. I can't wait to destroy the both of you." Lionel's smile settled into a grin as he reached out grabbing a crowbar he had obviously placed in the room before hand. Raising it he shattered the window and suddenly Lex could feel the wind in the room.
"What are you doing?" He yelled as his father stepped towards the edge of the window.
"I want you to know Lex, this isn't the end," gripping the wall he turned to smile at Lex. "When you close your eyes i'll be there, When you're closing a business deal i'll be looking over your shoulder. Like a phoenix rising from it's ashes, i'll be there." Laughter echoed again as Lionel released the wall falling backwards the last thing Lex saw was his insane smile.
Running to the window Lex watched as his father fell, and fell, and then splat. Lionel Luthor was dead, B2 had returned yet Lex could feel happy nor sad. He'd have to deal with the fact that his father was either insane or he had found some way to rise from the dead.
"B2 inform the local PD that my father committed suicide send them video evidence of our last conversation leave it muted we don't need them looking into Clark," This whole thing was going to be a shitshow.
[The local PD have been informed, there is one other thing though Mr.Luthor]
"What is it B2?" Lex asked taking a sip of his whiskey.
[You haven't asked to view the tracker I placed on the young Lillian Luthor since i've returned may I ask why?]
Lex froze at that question as he looked down at the Ipod in his hand, "B2 Lana and Lillian they died, shortly after you went offline." Lex said softly.
[That's impossible Mr.Luthor, the tracker also has a heartbeat sensor located within it. Lillian Luthor is resting at about 100 bpm]
