A lot went through Dana's head as she lay in the familiar bed, staring at the ceiling above her head. She felt exhausted on both physical and mental capacity but surprisingly, sleep seemed to elude her eyes. Her mind was tormented by thoughts that hadn't even started forming at the back of her head and this on its own was a frustration for her. She made an exaggerated exhaling sound before kicking the thick blanket off her body to go make a quick stop at the bathroom. Her feet padded softly on the carpeted floor until she felt the cold tiles of her bathroom floor, stepping inside she removed the thin silk night gown she had tied around her body before she stepped into the shower. She unfurled her hair that had been tied into a neat bun in order to have a peaceful nap, she let them cascade down her back while turning on the faucet, adjusting it enough just so the water that comes out of it was neither too cold nor too hot. She grabbed the scented bubble bath and rubbed it on every inch of her skin until there was just too much lather that she felt silly.

The very idea of feeling this silly for her suddenly brought a warm feeling spreading throughout her chest. This was her home and she felt like she could breathe and let loose if for nothing else than to take care of her heart.
'When was the last time I even smiled a genuine happy smile, not out of nervousness or an awkward situation' she thought bitterly, her life had slipped out of her control and every step she took felt like a step in a path set by some sort of a grand master. Could she even do something out of her own choosing and will without some higher manipulating the situation?
These questions came pouring to her mind like rain, one of her arms outstretched to let the water trickle into the palm of her hand and savouring the beautiful sensation it left on her skin. She didn't know what it feels like to stand naked under a real waterfall but this was the closest she felt she would ever get to that kind of intimacy with free falling water, she closed her eyes trying to take her soul there, her mouth curving into the most beautiful smile, brightening her face. She felt the tension leave her shoulders. She saw in her head a perfect picture of a sunny day with clear skies, the sound of birds chirping from a distance and the water singing a song of serenity, bringing everything to a quiet calm. This was all it takes to truly make her happy but achieving her happy goal seemed a mammoth of a task for a puppet like her in the grand scale of things.
She started feeling a bit suffocated in the steamy bathroom that had become thick as time passed by, she finally decided to leave the bathroom and give sleeping a try again. She rinsed off the remaining bubbles from her body and stepped out to grab a towel from the stand in front of the full body mirror by the bathroom door. She went back to her room to lotion her body and get herself settled inside her blankets again and closed her eyes lightly, acting oblivious to the eerie presence she had started noticing earlier in the living room with her parents around, it seemed to have surreptitiously followed her thinking she wasn't aware of it so she decided to play along to see how long it will go on for, of she was lucky, she'd even get the pleasure of meeting her "secret admirer" and thus, drifted to sleep.
