The cultivators in the city immediately came to the border.
They attacked the shadows and took them down easily. However, the shadows had an endless supply of energy from the shadow world and they just kept on regenerating. At the same time, the shadow energy was being flooded into the city.
Initially, the barrier is holding up, trying to keep the energy outside. But even the consummate cultivator knew that the barrier is only going to last so long.
