As the dead man vanished into smoke, Huai Shi heard a crisp sound. A copper coin dropped to the ground where the corpse had been.
When he bent down to pick it up, he found it was an ancient Yingzhou-style Golden Coin.
It was heavy, with a face value of one tael.
Not sure what use it had, he pocketed it for the time being.
Carrying his shotgun, Huai Shi charged towards the stairs.
Time was precious. He burst through the door intending to take the staircase, only to run right into two astonished faces. Another person was following behind them, charging upwards while yelling,
"This is definitely the place, I remember it clearly... FUCK!"
Three people stood before him.
Without wasting words, Huai Shi raised his shotgun, squeezed the trigger. The person in the lead was hurled back, while the one beside him was pelted with flying, scalding steel shot, turning into a bloody mess.
But the pellets were embedded in his skin without piercing his organs.
