The call was from Aiden Lennox.
"Mr. Lennox, what's wrong?" Summer Ford raised the phone to her ear and spoke first.
Aiden seemed to pause for a moment at her addressing him as Mr. Lennox. After a long beat, he finally uttered, coolly, "At the palace?"
"Yeah, I was just about to have lunch." Summer answered him in an even tone.
"Haven't eaten yet?" Aiden followed up on her words.
"Mm."
"Want to come out and eat together?" Aiden suggested.
Summer was slightly stunned. She turned her head, her gaze quietly sliding toward Ethan Laurent.
Ethan was staring at her, holding a glass of red wine in his hand, his fingertips tapping against the goblet over and over, his dark eyes on her without much emotion.
Their eyes met. He just looked at her like that; he didn't snatch her phone away like before, didn't even stop her from taking the call.
He wanted to know what she herself would choose. This time, he didn't interfere in any way with what she did.
