While the majority of the audience were using the bathroom, which was at the level one would see in a rich man's home, a few had decided to ask Zack some questions.
"So you're saying that there are different versions of our world where there are monsters that don't want to destroy humanity?" Sitch asked.
"That's right. And that's not the only major difference." Zack answered before seeing Pig God, Tank-Top Master, Saitama, and Fubuki come out of their respective bathrooms. "And that makes everyone back." he said before turning back to Sitch "We'll discuss more about this later."
"Man. I wish my bathroom had self-warming seats." Saitama said as he and the others took their seats.
"I'm just glad they had one big enough for me in there." Pig God commented before he went back to eating more food.
"Alright! Is everybody ready?" Zack asked.
"Yes. Let us start." Bofoi said before turning back to the screen with a serious look.
"What's with you?" Child Emperor asked.
"That man...from the House of Evolution. I feel like I know him from somewhere, but I can't place it." Bofoi explained.
"Perhaps the answer will lie in what we'll soon see?" said Sekingar.
"Perhaps." Bofoi answered as they all turned to the screen.
The Obsessive Scientist
Scene opens up to a very large house, or possibly a mansion, on a sunny day.
"Long ago, there existed a brilliant young scientist." came Armored Gorilla's voice as the scene changed to show a bunch of photos hanging on a wall and trophies and awards placed atop the mantle of a fireplace. Scene then zooms in on a picture of Genus, his name ' ' under it.
"Genus?" Bofoi said with wide eyes. "I thought that man looked familiar."
"Who is he?" Darkshine asked.
"Dr. Genus is a world-renowned scientist, his intelligence far surpassing many others, if not everyone." Bofoi explained.
"The same one that made so many contributions to science?" Child Emperor asked in surprise.
"The very same...but, something doesn't make sense." Bofoi said after a moment.
"What is it?" Bang asked.
"Dr. Genus was born over 80 years ago. He should be an old man." Bofoi explained.
"Perhaps the man we saw was his grandson?" Sitch asked.
"Maybe." Bofoi answered.
"But what about all those look-alikes we saw earlier?" Metal Bat asked. "Were they all his grandkids too?"
"That, I cannot say." Bofoi admitted. "Let us watch and see. Hopefully, the answer will come to us."
"Through the musings of his astonishing genius, he was able to make a number of significant contributions to human knowledge." Armored Gorilla continued, the scenes changing to show him receiving an award whilst surrounded by other scientists and then speaking to a large crowd of people, a spotlight on him.
"Didn't we just hear this?" Metal Bat asked.
"Yeah, we did. I want my money back!" Zack yelled before laughing.
"Shh!" Bofoi hissed.
"Well that was rude." Zack muttered as the show continued.
"Eventually, however, his accomplishments lead him to be disillusioned with the world." said Gorilla as the scene showed the scientists walking away while Genus stayed and spoke to the crowd. It then shifted to all of Genus's awards and trophies smashed into little pieces. "Though he was constantly showered with praise for the intricacies and revolutionary creations of his mind, none of his ideas or theories ever received even the slightest bit of support from the scientific community."
"Really? Why not?" Saitama asked, faintly curious as to why a genius wasn't getting help.
"Will Gorilla explain?" Bofoi asked Zack, not wanting to explain anymore if he didn't have to.
"Yep." was all Zack said before they turned back to the screen to see Genus standing at his desk.
Scene shifts to a tree with scientific names for animals on it's branches.
"Rather than advancing human civilization, his goal was the artificial evolution of humans as a species. That was the only dream he had ever had." Gorilla explained as the scene panned down to show Genus with his eyes shadowed before it changed to him looking furious, a vein sticking up on his forehead. "But not a single person came forward to help him achieve his vision."
"So he was trying to force humans to evolve?" Darkshine asked.
"Yes. And many believed these ideas to be either folly or dangerous." Bofoi answered.
"Considering all those monsters he sent to catch Saitama, I can see why they thought that." Child Emperor spoke up.
"Yeah. If artificial evolution meant turning into something like those things, I'd rather stay as what I am now." said Metal Bat.
"Damn these simple apes!" he cursed as he slammed his hands onto a newspaper on his desk before crumpling it up and tossing it aside. "'Dangerous ideas!' Treating me like a freak!" Scene zooms in on him. "Do these lowbrow simians really think humans have come this far by avoiding risks?" he asked no one as the scene shifted to a scene of an astronaut on one of the moons with a flag in his hand, a busted lunar lander behind him, and a cracked helmet.
"As insane as you make him out to be, he does have a point." an executive spoke up. "Humanity hasn't gotten to where it is without taking risks."
"Some risks aren't worth taking." Zombieman said, his arms folded across his chest and a lit cigarette in his mouth. The only reason he was allowed to smoke was that Zack had made it so that the smoke and smell would disappear the instant it left his mouth.
Scene shifts back to Genus clawing his desk.
"Idiots who think that mankind no longer has the need to evolve have no right to call themselves scientists, let alone pass on their genes!" he declared as the scene shifted to him slicking his hair back, his eyes bloodshot with rage before they took on a slightly calmer demeanor.
"That's a little harsh." King said. "Just because none of them agreed with him, they shouldn't have kids?"
"Some people take mocking their ideas that far." Flashy Flash responded.
"Of course, this plan and its fruition were always for my sake." he said before the camera zoomed in on his eye. "I will carry it out, even if I must do it all myself!" he decided, a green light coming from within his blue eyes.
"Isn't that the same light that came from inside Saitama's eyes?" Darkshine asked.
"It's a different color, but I get the feeling that it is the same as what we saw before." Bang answered.
"But...what exactly is it?" Tareo asked.
"Who knows. Maybe it's willpower or something?" Atomic Samurai guessed.
Genus then sits back down and begins writing something, then the scene switchs to the plaque outside his home that read 'Genus's Laboratory' which showed it looking new one moment, then filthy the next.
"He devoted himself to research, but it was only after he turned 70 that his efforts yielded the results he'd been searching for."
Scene shows Genus, now an old man and surrounded by various scientific devices and research notes, looking through a computer microscope. Scene then shifts to the screen saying that the experiment was a success. Genus backs up from the microscope, gasping in disbelief as tears of joy well up in his eyes.
Nobody could blame the man for his tears. To finally have the work you've done finally bear fruit after so many years? Any of them would cry to.
"So he was 70 when his research finally worked. But you said that he's now supposed to be over 80. So did his grandkids take over or something?" Flashy Flash asked.
"First, the scientist regained the prime age range of his youth!" said Armored Gorilla as an image of old Genus was replaced with a much younger Genus.
The audience did a double take after seeing that.
"Wait a minute! Wait a minute! Are you telling me that that old fart turned himself young?!" Metal Bat asked in shock.
"Unbelievable." Bofoi muttered while the lollipop fell from Child Emperor's grip.
"So it's not his grandson that we saw, but Genus himself." Amai Mask surmised.
"I guess all that research paid off big time." Atomic Samurai added with wide eyes.
"But what about all those guys that looked like him?" Saitama asked in mild curiosity.
"Next, he began cloning himself en masse." Gorilla continued as the scene changed, showing multiple copies of doctor Genus in white clothing, a number on each of them.
Again, the audience was stunned.
"Guess that answers that." said Saitama.
"Are you seeing this?" an executive asked while another rubbed their eyes, wondering if they were seeing things.
"I thought that stuff only happened in movies or on TV." Tareo whispered to himself.
"Eternal youth. Clones. Strange monsters from artificial evolution." Tank-Top Master counted off on his fingers. "What else has this man done?"
"Plenty, I'm sure." Zombieman answered, trying to keep the anger out of his tone.
"He named his laboratory 'The House of Evolution. And, with his clones, he conducted countless experiments with animals, creating new life and new species." Gorilla explained further, the scenes showing various creatures and such inside giant experimentation pods, the last showing a human stuck with various tubes and cables.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." one of the executives wheezed in discomfort at the sight, with many others feeling ill as well.
"His experiments then shifted to human subjects-"
"Argh! This is taking too long!" Saitama snapped, interrupting Gorilla while the scene shifted to the monster's surprised look. "What's this got to do with me? You're just trying to sound cool again." the bald hero said after the scene zoomed out, showing Saitama and Genos standing before a still immobile Armored Gorilla, who sighed at being yelled at.
"Enough jibber-jabber. Just get to the point, okay?"
"My master is a very busy man. Summarize it all in 20 words or less!" Saitama and Genos ordered as the scenes showed close-ups of their angry faces before shifting to Armored Gorilla's nervous face.
"S-Sure! Sorry about that!" Gorilla apologized.
Everyone was quiet as the theme song played, some of them even bobbing their head to the tune.
Scene comes back to the sky and the bridge before panning down to the three figures.
"So...in other words, uh...the boss man has become passionately curious about you and your body." Gorilla summarized.
"Well it is a rather nice body." Puri Puri Prisoner complimented. The one receiving it, however, felt rather disturbed.
"Too bad. I'm not interested in dudes." Saitama declined after the scene shifted to him.
"Oh poo." Prisoner huffed.
"Good. We don't need anymore fruitcakes." an executive whispered to himself.
"Master, that is not what he meant." Genos spoke up as the scene panned over to him before going to a close-up of Saitama looking over at him. "Your body surpasses normal human limitations, so he plans on using it for his research on evolution. Unless he is stopped, I am sure he will try this again." Genos explained as the scene shifted back to him. "We cannot allow him a free hand." Genos continued while Armored Gorilla scowled before the scene went back to Genos. "Our move should be to attack him." he firmly declared. The scene then shifted to a close-up of Saitama's serious face.
"Sure. Let's go!" Saitama decided.
"Right." Genos agreed before looking a little shocked after footsteps are heard off screen. "Now?!" he asked after the scene shifted, showing Saitama walking away and holding up a piece of white and pink paper.
"Yeah. There's a sale on tomorrow. Can't do it then." Saitama explained.
"A sale? I hope it's a good one." Saitama said with a smile while a few others rolled their eyes.
"Looks like things are gonna get interesting right off the bat." Atomic Samurai said with a smile.
"Indeed. Perhaps we may even see the strongest fighter of the House of Evolution." Bang added.
"I still don't get it. Why didn't he just send the strongest in the first place?" Darkshine asked.
"Could be a number of reasons." Child Emperor answered. "Could be in charge of defending the base, or a personal bodyguard."
"Either way, Saitama will simply destroy it like all the others." said Flashy Flash.
"And what happens on the off chance it kills him?" Metal Bat asked.
"I'll eat my sword." Flash stated with confidence.
"That I'd like to see." Sonic said with a chuckle.
"But, Master..." Genos called out as he ran after him, leaving Gorilla to look and scowl at them.
'This doesn't sound good. Better tell the doctor.' Armored Gorilla thought before he turned away, the scene closing in as his head popped open, a tiny radar antenna moving about as it sent a signal.
"His head popped open!" Tareo exclaimed.
"Not surprising since he's a cyborg." Drive Knight said.
"That's so cool!" Tareo began in excitement before frowning. "Too bad he's a monster."
"But where's his brain then?" Saitama asked.
"It's probably on a microchip located on another part of his body." Bofoi theorized.
"Hey, you!" Genos spoke up, a part of his left shoulder coming into view.
"DAH!" Gorilla yelped as his head shut while he looked up at Genos. "Yes?"
"I have one last question." Genos said with a glare as the scene shifted and panned up to him, holding a charged incineration blast towards Gorilla with his left hand while holding the sale sheet with his right. "The House of Evolution cyborg development. Did it begin over four years ago?" Scene suddenly zooms in on his face. "How many were created? Have any of them destroyed towns in the past?"
"I'm not really sure. But at the House of Evolution, I'm the only combat cyborg." Armored Gorilla answered. Genos simply let out a 'hmm' before lowering his arm.
"Why did you not finish him off?" Amai Mask asked with a frown. "He tried to destroy you and take Saitama away to experiment on. He is evil, and must be destroyed."
"How much harm can he do?" Saitama asked. "He's had his limbs ripped off."
"He may have had enough time to warn the doctor about you and Genos coming for him." Bang stated.
"That just means he'll have something prepared for our arrival." Saitama answered with a small smile. "Might make things interesting."
Scene shifts to the House of Evolution.
"Impossible! Our elite force, formed for the destruction of these archaic humans, wiped out?!" Genus yelled in outrage as the scene shows the man and his clones looking at a screen, showing all but Armored Gorilla having been killed.
"If he thought that those few little things could wipe out humanity, he's not as smart as he thinks he is." Tornado scoffed.
"Perhaps he could be working on more monsters to go up against us?" Bang guessed.
"Heh. That'd be interesting." Metal Bat said with a confident smirk.
"According to Armored Gorilla's report, the two responsible for doing so are on their way here now." Clone #33 informed him as the scene changed, showing pictures of Genos and Saitama from Armored Gorilla's view before shifting to Genus's angered face.
"If they manage to make it to the lab, all of our research, everything that we've been working on, could be destroyed." another clone added as the scene showed years of compiled research and monsters growing in tubes here and there.
"We're in serious trouble." Clone #78 stated. Scene shifts to Genus seething in rage.
"We're forced to use our trump card." Genus whispered, though the clones all heard it and let out quiet gasps.
"So he's bringing out his best?" Sitch asked.
"It may be so." Sekingar answered.
Scene shifts to Genus's worried, yet determined look.
"Begin preparations for the release of Carnage Kabuto."
Scene then shifts around to all the clones looking terrified and panicking.
"NO WAY!"
"No! Not him!"
"THAT'S CRAZY!"
"Will he finally be released?!"
"He's right! That might be the only way!"
"This is too dangerous!"
"There's no turning back now!"
"Why do they all look so scared?" Tareo asked, sounding very uneasy as he watched all the clones freak out.
"Probably from the thought of having this Carnage Kabuto they speak of released." Flashy Flash answered.
"Okay, but why are they terrified?" Darkshine wondered.
"Genus said to prepare for his release. Perhaps they have him locked up for some reason." Bang guessed.
"Might be he thinks he's so strong that he doesn't need to follow orders." Atomic Samurai mused.
"I hope he is strong." Saitama said while holding up a fist. "I may get a challenge yet."
"Quiet down!" the original ordered, silencing them all as the scene shifted back to him. "He'll be our very last resort."
"But sir..." Clone #33 began in protest.
"We'll start by activating all our traps, from the first floor to the eighth." Genus said as the scene shifted to a computer screen, showing eight different floors having their special traps being armed. "If we're lucky, they will take care of the intruders."
"I don't know about Genos, but I doubt any of that will stop Saitama." Darkshine said with a confident smile, with many of them nodding.
"Still, it'll be interesting to see all those traps try and stop them." Metal Bat smirked.
"I'm aware of what will happen to us should we fail. Especially to me." Genus told them all, the scene shifting back to him. It then shifted to a spot out in the middle of the wilderness, the camera panning down to a forest trail, a dead bear in the middle of the path.
"I did not think we would be running the whole way." Genos said as the scene changed to him and Saitama running at high speeds through the woods.
"How else are we gonna get there?" Saitama asked.
"It was my assumption that you had the ability to fly."
"You know humans can't do that, right?" Saitama questioned as the scene showed a close-up of each of them.
"Not unless they have jetpacks, psychic powers, or that box of yours." Pig God corrected while gesturing to Child Emperor, Tornado, and Drive Knight., who either gave a small smile or didn't or just looked at him before looking back at the screen.
"It is amazing that you are never late. You are a true hero." Genos said in admiration as the scene shifted a few times, showing them making huge leaps off rocks up a mountain.
"Really? You're kidding. I hardly ever arrive on time." Saitama admitted as he and Genos hung in the air, the House of Evolution below them.
"How long did it take you two to get there?" Tareo asked.
"I do not know. I am unsure of the current location that our future selves are now." Genos answered.
"We're here. This is the place we were told about." Genos informed Saitama as the two stared up at the building, the scene shifting to show the building as well.
"So this is..." Saitama began.
"The House of Evolution." Genos confirmed.
"One, two, three, four, five, six...looks like there's about eight stories high-" Saitama began as the scene shifted to him counting the floors before Genos suddenly charged up his weapons and opened fire, creating a massive explosion and destroying the building.
"What was that?!" Metal Bat yelled.
"That was me destroying the House of Evolution." Genos answered.
"We can see that! I mean what's with you just blasting everything?!"
"Is it not better to eradicate them all in one shot?" Genos asked.
"Well, yeah but..." Metal Bat grumbled.
"He's just upset because he wanted to see all the traps in action." Flashy Flash explained in a bored tone.
"Yeah! So what if I did?! At least that would've been entertaining!" Metal Bat snapped.
"Gotta agree. It's no fun to just blow everything to pieces just to avoid a trap. Gets rid of the fun of making it through." Atomic Samurai added.
"And what if there had been humans inside other than the clones? He had to get the material from somewhere." Child Emperor asked.
Genos gasped at that before hastily writing a note to not blow the House of Evolution to pieces until he'd check for innocent survivors.
"Lesson learned for later then." Bang said before they all turned back to the screen.
"Uh...that seemed a little rash. Don't you think?" said Saitama as the smoke cleared, revealing an expression that asked 'why?'
"You see, in the interest of efficiency, I thought it would be best to destroy them all in one fell swoop." Genos explained as the scene shifted to him before shifting to show all the destruction that Genos caused.
"Well, that was efficient, but...we could've at least seen what our enemies had in store for us. You didn't really think that one through." Saitama answered.
"Well at least that Genus fellow and his clones are gone." an executive said.
"Let us hope we can find him and his research first." another said.
Scene shifts to Genos looking around before he notices a steel door in the dirt, which Saitama approaches.
"Looks like there's a basement." Saitama said as the scene shifts, showing Saitama opening the door like it was made of tin foil and revealing a set of stairs that lead deeper underground.
"Let me guess. This isn't over, is it?" Tornado asked with a bored look.
"I'd have been surprised if it was." Zombieman said.
"Cool. Maybe I still get to fight Cabbage Cocker Spaniel after all." Saitama smirked.
"Pffwhat?" Metal Bat asked through his chuckles, with most of them looking at him.
"It is called Carnage Kabuto, Master Saitama." Genos corrected.
"Oh yeah." Saitama nodded, realizing he got it wrong.
"You and names." Zack muttered before they turned back to the screen.
Scene then shifts to show a long corridor lit by lights, a man's scream of terror coming from deep within.
"That sounded like Genus." Bang spoke up.
Scene shifts to a machine gun firing before it shifts to a clone using the gun and shooting at a large creature being blocked out by the lights in the background. The creature then lifts up it's right arm.
"STOP IT! JUST STAY AWAY!" the clone screamed in terror after the scene shifted to him before he was punched into nothing but a pile of gore.
"AH!" Tareo yelped.
"It would indeed appear that they had good reason to be afraid." Bofoi said in a calm voice.
Scene shifts to a few blood smears and tattered white clothes on the floor, the figure from before standing before it all and growling. It then shifts a few times to show the creature releasing a breath while the original Genus approaching the chained up creature from behind.
"Hey, uh, Carnage Kabuto." he greeted, gaining the monster's attention before the scene shifted to a close up of Genus, sweat and an uneasy smile on his face. "Tell me, are you feeling alright? It would appear you've killed a bunch of my clones again."
"Again?" some of them parroted.
Scene shows the monster looking over it's shoulder at Genus. "Are you satisfied?" Genus asked.
"Huh? You fool! Why would I be satisfied, huh?" Carnage Kabuto asked as the scene shifted, showing the monster as a human/beetle hybrid that easily towered over Genus.
"So that's Carnage Kabuto?" an old executive asked.
"Big fella, ain't he?" Metal Bat said with a smirk.
Scene shifts a few times between Genus and Kabuto as Kabuto speaks.
"I've been kept locked up deep beneath the earth." he said before breaking the collar around his neck off with his hand. "I'm the strongest warrior in the entire HOUSE OF EVOLUTIONNNNN!"
"He sounds a little unhinged." Flashy Flash said while giving Kabuto a critical look.
"Maybe he is?" Atomic Samurai wondered.
"You were imprisoned because you're mentally unstable. We couldn't control you. There was no choice in the matter." Genus explained before the scene shifted to Kabuto's foot smashing into the floor before the scene shifted back to Kabuto.
"You couldn't control me?! HAHAHAHA! Moron! I am the ultimate culmination of the new human you guys have sought for so long! My intelligence and physical strength are incomparable to your own! The way I see it, you and all of your clones should be the ones obeying me!" Kabuto boasted as the scene shifted before ending with Genus looking at Kabuto licking the air in front of his face, it's tongue hanging out and drooling.
"Definitely unhinged." Watchdog Man commented.
'No. You're a failure. It's true you perform at unheard of levels, but you lack humanity.' Genus thought as the scene shifted to Kabuto pulling his tongue back before scratching his ass.
"Ugh." Fubuki groaned at the sight. "Human or monster, men will be men."
"Go ahead and kill me if you want. Plenty of clones could take my place." Genus said, gaining Kabuto's attention again.
"Ooooh?"
"But I have a favor to ask first." Genus spoke up before Kabuto could decide on anything. "There's a specimen I simply must have." he said before a computer image appeared on the wall. Scene zooms in to show Genos and Saitama walking down the stairs, with Genos lighting the way with his hand and Saitama staring at the camera and picking his nose with his pinky finger.
Half of them were disgusted at the action. The other half chuckled.
"That's not a mirror, Mr. Saitama!" Tareo laughed.
"That is just gross." Tatsumaki grimaced.
"He's proven to be extremely strong. Only you can defeat him. I want you to catch him for me." Genus explained. Scene shifts to Kabuto looking confused before gaining a confident, yet insane grin at the thought of fighting whomever Genus was talking about. "Dead or alive."
"He's in for a nasty surprise." Darkshine said with a confident smile.
"How long do you think he'll last?" Metal Bat asked.
"Hope he lasts long." Saitama spoke up.
Scene shifts to the long corridor, with Saitama and Genos walking through.
"This basement is huge. I'm getting kinda fired up." Saitama said with a smile. Genos then suddenly stops and let's out a quiet gasp of surprise, making Saitama stop and turn to look at him.
"I sense living beings deeper inside." Genos informed before he let out a grunt in surprise before turning to Saitama. "Master! Two of them are approaching us!" he warned as the scene shifted, showing the long corridor again.
"Hm?" was all Saitama said as he looked down the corridor just as the sound of breaking glass rang out, the lights dimming two at a time. The scene then shifts to Carnage Kabuto running through the corridor, his giant size being the cause of the lights breaking.
"Guess he was too impatient to wait for them to arrive on their own." Amai Mask stated.
"I'd probably be the same if I wanted to fight someone strong." Metal Bat admitted.
"YEAH! HERE WE GO! WHICH ONE IS IT?!" Kabuto asked as the scene showed him carrying Genus in his right hand.
"The one...on the right!" Genus answered while being thrashed about by Kabuto mishandling him.
Zombieman had a small smile on his face at the sight of Genus in his current battered state.
"In that case, you don't need the one on the left!" yelled the monster as it shifted to a close-up of him before shifting to Genos getting ready. It then shifted to Kabuto simultaneously dropping Genos and smashing Genos into the wall.
"Ouch." Drive Knight said while a few of them winced.
"That's gotta hurt." Atomic Samurai commented.
"Genos?" Saitama said as the scene shifted to him before showing Kabuto rushing past, then shifts to show the monster skidding to a stop. It then shifted to Genos planted firmly into the wall. "Whoa!"
"Oh no! Are you still alive, Mr. Genos?!" Tareo asked in fear.
"I am unsure." Genos answered while glaring at the screen.
"My name is Carnage Kabuto." the monster introduced after the scene shifted to him. Saitama looks up at him while he's pointing his thumb behind him with a smile. "We've got a combat experimentation room back this way. Let's throw down in there!"
Scene shifts to Saitama glaring up at him with a serious look.
"You just turned Genos into a piece of bad modern art." said the bald hero before the camera zoomed in a little on him. "Let's do this!"
"That monster's dead." said Zombieman.
Scene shifts to a close-up of Kabuto's sadistic and insane grin.
"He scares me." Tareo muttered.
"It's just a big ass bug. A few seconds is all I'd need to squish him." Metal Bat boasted.
"Perhaps. Perhaps not." Bang said with a critical eye on the screen. "Genus is planning to wipe out humanity to replace it with his artificially evolved creations. He must know that he would need to get rid of the Hero Association and all of it's heroes to do so."
"Which is probably why he had some of our pictures on his computer screen earlier." Flash added. "He may have planned to create something with enough power to destroy us."
"Hmph. As if that'd ever happen." Tornado scoffed.
"I don't know. That slug monster said something about having telepathy, so Genus may have been able to make a creature with strong psychic powers as well." Darkshine countered.
"It still wouldn't have made a difference." Tornado said with a frown.
Scene then shifts to the camera moving through a doorway at the end of the corridor before going into a gigantic room covered in large white tiles on the ceilings, floor, and wall, with Saitama walking to be opposite of Carnage Kabuto, who was standing on the other side of the room.
"Pretty big, huh?! It's the largest room in this facility. This is where we fight to test our combat abilities." Kabuto explained before the camera zoomed in on him. "Which means there's plenty of room here to kick your ass."
"That's what he thinks." an executive chuckled with a smirk.
Scene zooms in on Kabuto's crazed eyes.
"Well then, let's start the killing!" he said before flames suddenly appeared on the screen. The camera zooms out to show him looking completely fine after the flames subsided before looking towards the direction it came from. Scene shifts to show the doorway in the distance, with flames slowly dying out from it's source and the tiles between Kabuto and the door scorched. "Ah. Still alive, are you?"
Scene shifts to Genos in the doorway, his left hand aimed at Kabuto before dropping, and his right hand keeping him steady.
"Hooray! You're alive!" Tareo cheered.
"It would appear so." Genos nodded.
"That Doctor Kuseno that remade you did very well if you can survive something like that." Bofoi stated.
"Yes." was all Genos said as they went back to the viewing.
Genos slumps for a moment before pulling himself back up. The scene then shifts about as Genos runs towards Carnage Kabuto at full speed. He lands a punch on the monster before he zips away and begins circling Kabuto, firing off shots from his hands, engulfing him in flames. He then runs and leaps towards a burning Carnage Kabuto, fist drawn back.
"You fool!" Kabuto said with a mad grin, unaffected by the flames.
"Machine Gun Blows!" Genos muttered before delivering a ceaseless barrage of high speed punches all over Kabuto. The scene then shows Kabuto smashing his large fist against Genos, sending him flying away before hitting the ground, bouncing and spiraling all the way like a rag doll before being caught by Saitama, his damaged body quivering and sparking as he tried to get to listen to him.
"That...okay, I'll admit. I know that was painful, but that looked funny from this point of view." King said with a small smile.
"I fail to see the humor in it." Genos said in a monotone voice.
"That's because it happened to you, you dumbass." Tornado grunted.
"He got me good." Genos grunted, his left eye gone and the socket sparking as he tried to focus his remaining eye on Kabuto. The scene then shifted to Kabuto grinning at Genos. "Let me...take him!"
"It would be wise to call it quits and let Saitama handle it from here on out." Bang spoke up. "If you continue to fight him, you may end up beyond repair."
"Perhaps you are right." Genos admitted, though he sounded like he hated to do so.
"Your face is cracked and you're all smashed up. Don't push yourself." Saitama told him as the scene shows Genos finally lifting up his left hand before firing another wave of flames towards Kabuto. The monster waited until it was about to hit him before blowing them back with nothing but his breath.
"What the-?! He literally blew it back?!" Fubuki asked in shock.
"Okay. Didn't expect that." Tank-Top Master said with wide eyes.
"With his breath?! Impossible!" Genos yelled just before the flames engulfed both him and Saitama.
"I know Saitama will survive that, but what about Genos?" Pig God asked.
"We'll have to wait and see." Child Emperor answered.
Scene shows the flames subsiding, revealing Saitama with his eyes closed before opening them a bit.
"Genos! Hey, are you alright?!" he asked in worry, his eyes widening.
"Yes, Master." Genos got out while Saitama looked at his hair.
"No, you're not! Look at your head!" Saitama yelped as the scene shifted to Genos, his hair now in a poofy afro.
Tareo covered his mouth with his hands to hold his laughter in at the sight. Despite how damaged Genos was, seeing Genos with hair like that was just too funny. And by the sound of laughter coming from most of the room, he wasn't the only one who thought that.
"Nice afro!" Metal Bat laughed.
"I don't think it suits you." Darkshine joked.
"Hmm. It seems that the artificial hair fibers react this way to extreme heat." Genos commented while writing this down in his notebook.
Scene shifts to Saitama looking back at Kabuto, who was laughing it up. Scene shifts to him laughing before sticking his tongue out and flailing it about.
"Would you hurry up and punch this nutcase already?" Tornado said, her patience with this creature at an end.
Scene shifts back to Saitama, who was grinning with a serious face, a vein on his forehead.
"Well I've gotta admit, that was pretty impressive. You've gone and gotten my hopes up." he said before the scene shifted to show all three of them in the large room.
"Finally! I was sick of waiting for the fight!" Metal Bat groaned with a grin.
"You can do it, Mr. Saitama!" Tareo cheered.
"It hasn't started yet." Zombieman chuckled.
Scene shifts to Genus slowly walking through the long hallway, his left hand grasping his bloodied, and possibly broken, right arm by the shoulder.
'I have always been critical of humans and their inferior abilities.' Genus thought as the scenes began to shift.
"Who you calling inferior?!" Metal Bat yelled, a vein on his forehead.
"Calm down. It's just his opinion." Amai Mask said with a bored look in his eyes.
"I don't know. I mean, a lot of you are a bit inferior." Tatsumaki said with a smile.
"That wasn't nice." Tareo muttered with a sad frown.
"You do realize that he's talking about all humans. And that includes you as well." Flash countered, earning a glare from her as her power began to flare.
"Wait! Stop!" Sitch shouted, hoping that they wouldn't start fighting.
"That's enough." Bang spoke up in a calm voice. "He's just reminding you of Genus's opinion of humans. No need to get upset."
Tornado kept up her glare, but eventually turned back to the screen as her power died down, causing her sister to sigh in relief.
Scene shows a child Genus standing in a school uniform, a book in his arms, and an unknown man patting his head.
'Aside from myself, the entire species can only be viewed as dumb animals.' he thought as the scene showed a bunch of blobby figures walking about with big smiles on their faces before it shifted to a close up of Genus's dark glare. 'That realization was agony for me.'
"So he's hated everyone since he was a kid just because he was smarter than them? That's a little harsh." Darkshine commented.
"Yeah. I'm smart and have my own laboratory, but I don't see everyone that way." said Child Emperor.
"You have a lab?" Saitama asked in surprise.
"Yeah. I built it myself." the child hero answered with a hint of pride.
"Cool." Saitama said before they went back to the screen.
Scene changes to a teenage Genus.
'If memory serves, I was 15 years old at the time.' Scene changes to him looking surprised as he sat at his school desk, surrounded by more blobs. 'That's when I hit upon my plan to evolve the human animal, and create a world where I could live contentedly.' Scene changes to him writing in his notebook with a smile, the tree of evolution appearing in the background. 'A utopia of my very own, created by my genius! A realm populated by a new human breed, transcending humanity, bringing about a new world order!' he reminisced as the scene changed to his teen self grinning with glee. The scene then changed to his present self dropping to one knee, blood dripping as he rested his functioning arm against the wall. He then looked up as he recalled looking at Saitama from when he was speaking to Carnage Kabuto before they moved to the combat room. 'I must see it through.' he thought as the scene showed him very close to the doorway into the room. 'Compared to the horrible anguish I endured back then, this physical pain I feel now is nothing!'
"He hated humanity that much?" Tareo asked.
"Seems that way." Atomic Samurai answered. "I'm amazed he hasn't changed into a monster."
"Well he was trying to create a new human breed, and he did keep Carnage Kabuto imprisoned because it lacked humanity." Bang reminded them. "It may be those reasons that he hasn't become one himself."
Scene shifts to Carnage Kabuto making a 'come here' motion with his pointer finger to Saitama and Genos.
"What's the hold up?! Let's get this thing going! Bring everything you've got!" Kabuto ordered while Saitama kept Genos from getting up and fighting in his damaged condition.
'Carnage Kabuto. The strongest and most brutal creation of the House of Evolution.' Genus thought as the scene showed him standing in the doorway, a grin on his face as he waited to observed the fight to come. 'Let's see how your archaic human processes fare against a monster that is the apex of artificial evolution.' Scene shifts to a close up of Saitama. 'Or will you and this challenge open new avenues for experimentation? I can't wait to find out.' he thought as the scene shifted back to him.
"He's gonna be in for a nasty surprise when Saitama one shot's that monster of his." Tank-Top Master commented.
"How gory do you think it'll be? Just his head, or a full body explosion?" Metal Bat asked.
"That's a hard decision." Flashy Flash answered.
Scene shows Saitama taking a step before it shifts up to him having a serious face.
"Oh! I see it! I see it! You're supposed to be strong!" Kabuto said while pointing his fingers at Saitama with smile while the hero approached him.
"Don't disappoint me now." said Saitama, wiping the smile off Kabuto's face before the scene shifts to Saitama. "You're supposed to be the ultimate weapon in this place, right? Clearly you're not the same as those guys this morning." Scene shifts to Kabuto smiling again at Saitama. "Look at you, just oozing with confidence."
Kabuto chuckles as he grin widens. Scene shifts to show Saitama stopping just in front of Kabuto before he suddenly vanishes, the scene shifting to show him running at high speeds.
"Hmph. Pathetic." Sonic scoffed at the monster, his speed a mere snail's pace to him.
'Such speed!' Genos thought as the scene shifts to his shocked face. It then shifts to show Kabuto appearing behind Saitama with a mad grin, his fist pulled back to throw a massive punch at Saitama.
The audience tensed and waited to see what Saitama would do in this situation.
Scene shifts to a close up of the side of Saitama's face, his eyes staring ahead. It suddenly shifts to Kabuto sweating and looking terrified before shifting to him jumping far back, his wings flying him backwards.
"What the-? What happened?" Darkshine asked as the audience all looked confused.
"Why'd he jump away? Didn't he want to fight Mr. Saitama?" Tareo wondered.
"He looked like he was about to shit himself." Metal Bat stated.
Scene shifts to Saitama looking over his shoulder in confusion.
"What are you doing? Hey!" Saitama asked as the scene changed to show Carnage Kabuto all the way at the other side of the room. It then shifted to show him hugging the wall, still looking scared.
"Absurd! Carnage Kabuto retreating?!" Genus yelled in shock, the camera zooming in on his surprised face. It then changed to Carnage Kabuto, who's body was jolting in time with his loud heartbeat and covered in sweat.
'If I'd attacked him just now, he would've killed me!' he thought as the camera zoomed in on his wide and fear filled eye. 'Who the hell is this guy?!'
Scene changes to show Saitama, a deadly aura of power emanating from his body.
"What is that?" an executive asked.
"Power, maybe?" another answered with a shrug.
"You think any of the other monsters we've fought ever saw this coming off of us?" Puri Puri Prisoner wondered aloud. That got the other heroes wondering the same thing at that moment.
"He's leaving himself wide open, yet all of my instincts are screaming, sending out danger signals!' he thought as the camera zoomed in on Saitama's blank face.
"Huh?" was all Saitama said, still wondering what Kabuto was doing.
"So his animalistic instincts kicked in and he ran away." Bofoi theorized.
"BASTARD! WHAT ARE YOU, SOME KIND OF FREAK?! HOW IN THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT STRONG?!" Carnage Kabuto roared. Scene changes to Genus, then to Genos, both of which looked shocked at his words.
"That is a good question." Bofoi stated. "To have gained that much power in the short amount of time you claimed to have done it in is quite puzzling."
"Whatever it was, it must've been intense to go from an average guy to being able to smash Dragon level monsters with ease." Metal Bat answered.
Scene changes to Saitama staring at Carnage Kabuto before it changes to said monster breathing hard. It then shifted back to Saitama, who now had a serious look on his face.
"So you wanna know as well? Okay, fine." said the bald hero as the camera changed to Carnage Kabuto, then to Genos. "Genos. You listen carefully too." he ordered, making Genos gasp in shock.
'Wait. You mean he's going to tell us right now? The secret to his amazing power?!' thought Genos.
This immediately got the audience's undivided attention, each thinking different thoughts.
"This should be interesting." Blast muttered to himself while adjusting his shades.
Genos and Sitch both had their respective notebooks out, ready to write down the secret.
Sonic had a smile of his own, thinking about using the secret of Saitama's strength to make himself stronger.
"I want to know as well." Genus grunted, making Saitama turn to see him now standing close by, still holding his bad arm.
"Huh? Who are you?" Saitama asked, his face going back to normal.
"I am Genus." he introduced. Saitama merely tilted his head before the scene changed to an overview, showing the two humans and cyborg.
"Fine, whatever. Listen up!" the bald hero ordered.
'No! It is too risky! He must not let them know his secret!' Genos thought in a panic as the camera changes to a close up of him before he glances over at Kabuto.
"That is a problem, telling the enemy how you attained such power." Drive Knight stated.
"Especially to someone who wants to replace humans with those monstrosities of his." Child Emperor added.
"Not unless we stop him ourselves before any of this happens." Bang reminded them all.
"First, what's important is to make sure you really stick to this intense training regimen." Saitama began, the scene changing to him having a serious look and smile.
'Wait a minute. Not modification surgery or genetic enhancement? Just...training?' Genus thought as the camera switched to him before switching to Kabuto.
'What training?' the monster thought.
"That's the million yen question." said Atomic Samurai while those like Darkshine and Tank-Top Master kept their ears open, wanting to add Saitama's training to their own to get stronger.
Scene then changed to Genos still looking shocked.
"Listen, Genos. You have to keep doing it, no matter how difficult it gets." Saitama said after the camera switched to him before showing them all. "It took me a full three years to get this strong."
Some of the audience leaned forward in their chairs, waiting for Saitama to tell them.
Scene shifts to show Saitama giving them all the most serious look they've seen on him.
"100 push-ups! 100 sit-ups! And 100 squats!"
Scene shows a shocked looked from all his listeners before going back to him.
"Then a 10 kilometer run! DO IT EVERY SINGLE DAY!"
Scene shifts between the three listeners before going back to Saitama, then faded to show small flashbacks as Saitama continued.
"And of course, make sure you eat three meals daily. Just a banana in the morning is fine. But never ever use the air conditioner in the Summer, or heat in the Winter, so you can strengthen the mind!"
Scene shows Saitama running, then eating a banana, then his air conditioner have a note saying 'SAVE MONEY' stuck to it. It then switches to Saitama lying in bed on a hot day in Summer, his pajama top open and his body covered in sweat.
"In the beginning, you'll wish you were dead. You might start thinking 'what's the harm of taking a day off?' But for me, in order to be a strong hero, even when I was spitting blood, I never stopped! I toughed it out and endured the pain.
Scene shows him now in the park doing squats.
"I did squats, even when my legs felt like they couldn't move!"
Scene changes to him doing push-ups, despite his arms sounding like they were breaking.
"Even when my arms starting making weird clicking noises, I kept doing push-ups!"
"I remember that pain." Saitama muttered to himself as he watched his past self struggle.
Scene changes to him standing in his bathroom, the top of his head cut out.
"A year and a half later, I started to notice a difference. I was bald!"
Scene shows him without his hair, then shifts to him punching a monster through a building and into the sky.
"And I had become stronger!"
Scene shows an image of his past self running before his current self ran by at a much faster speed.
"In other words, you gotta train like hell to the point where your hair falls out. That's the only way to become truly strong."
Scene shifts to Saitama finishing up his story.
"Guys fooling around with this new human race and evolution junk. They're never gonna make it this far. Humans beings are strong cause we can change ourselves!"
Saitama sat there and nodded with his future self's wise words.
'W-What did he say?' Genus thought as the camera switched to him, then to Kabuto.
'Is this guy...for real?' the monster thought before it switched to Genos.
"Master." he began before the scene changed to Saitama smiling with a normal face. "You are so...FULL OF CRAP!" he roared, making Saitama blink and turn back to his usual face.
The future Genos wasn't the only one thinking that.
"ARE YOU FUCKING WITH US?!" Metal Bat roared at the current Saitama, veins sticking up on his face in livid fury. He had been getting pumped to hear how Saitama got so strong, only to hear the bald hero spout nonsense.
"I can't believe I actually thought he was gonna say something smart." Tornado groaned, feeling like an idiot for listening to Saitama.
"It's a lie...it's a lie!" Darkshine whimpered while holding his head in his hands, feeling his muscles almost shrivel after hearing Saitama's 'intense' training regimen.
Genos merely looked at the screen, his thumb snapping the pen in his hand.
"Easy Flash." said Atomic Samurai when he felt a murderous aura coming from the ninja. "I want to slice him up too."
"He's not the only one." Drive Knight said, his eye glancing over at Sonic as he shook with rage in his seat.
"That sounded so lame." Tareo commented with a frown, feeling his respect for Saitama wither away.
Blast merely tipped his shades and gave Saitama a 'are you for real' look.
Zombieman looked like he wanted to take his gun and shoot himself, hoping it would wipe the nonsense he just heard from his mind before it grew back.
"That is nothing more than standard strength training! And it is really not even that intense! It is just a normal level!" Genos snapped.
"Indeed. That kind of training isn't even a warm-up for me or my followers." Tank-Top Master spoke up.
"I...I have to get stronger! Understand me?! I cannot believe you would do this! I DID NOT ASK TO STUDY UNDER YOU TO HEAR JOKES!" Genos continued as the scene shifted to him, then to a still stunned Saitama. "Master Saitama, please! Your power is more than one could achieve by just training!"
Scene shifts to a close-up of Genus.
'Yes. That's right! I want to know your-'
"YOUR TRUE SECRET! PLEASE, REVEAL IT!" Genos begged after the scene shifted back to him.
Scene shifts to show Saitama looking down at the floor.
"Look, Genos." he began before the scene shifted closer to him as he looked back up at Genos. "You may not believe me, but that's really all I did."
"But that can't be. If that were all it took, there'd be people with unimaginable strength everywhere you'd look." Puri Puri Prisoner pointed out.
"That's right." King nodded, inwardly crying after hearing the explanation. If what Saitama said was true, then he would be able to become the King everything thinks he is.
Everyone suddenly looked at Zack when they heard him laughing, his hand up to his mouth to try and stifle it.
"What's so funny?" Amai Mask asked, his red eyes glaring daggers at the laughing cosmic entity. "Is it amusing watching us listen to a pack of lies?"
"No no no." Zack chuckled before taking a few breaths to calm down. "It's not that. And Saitama's not lying either."
"He's not?" most of them asked at the same time.
"Of course not. That's all I really did." Saitama said in his defense.
"But...how?" Pig God asked before going back to his food.
"Catch." Zack said before throwing something up into the air, which was caught by Fubuki with her powers. She pulled whatever it was close to her face before blinking in confusion.
"A jigsaw piece?" she asked as she flipped the little piece around in the air, examining it from all sides.
"Take a moment a think on it. It'll come to you." Zack told them.
All of them looked at the puzzle piece. Some looked bored. Some looked serious. Some simply stared. Finally, one of them caught on.
"I think I understand." Bofoi spoke up, gaining their attention.
"You do? What is it, Metal Knight?" Sitch asked.
"If I'm not mistaken, you're telling us that what we just heard was just a small piece of a much larger puzzle. Correct?" he explained while looking at Zack.
"Bingo!" Zack grinned while snapping his fingers and pointing at Bofoi.
"So there's a trick somewhere in that simple training exercise?" Sekingar asked.
"Sorry~ No more hints~" Zack sang, which seemed to annoy most of them. Seeing as he wasn't saying anything, the audience turned back to the screen.
Scene shows Genos's mouth hanging open after Saitama spoke.
"Oh yeah?" Carnage Kabuto growled. Scene changes to show him moving closer, his whole body bulging slightly.
"No! Don't do it! You mustn't!" Genus begged after the scene shifted to his fearful face.
"If you don't wanna tell us your secret, so be it!" he grunted as he body grew, causing parts of his outer shell to break off.
"I think he's upset." Watchdog Man said.
"Anyone would be. Just look around the room." Atomic Samurai pointed out.
"Oh my God! Looks like he's going on another rampage!" Genus yelped as he backed away while alarms began to blare throughout the room.
"I bet you're not stronger than me! NOT EVEN CLOSE!" Kabuto seethed as his appearance grew more monstrous, his horn growing larger, and his skin color changing.
"I wonder how much stronger he's getting." Saitama said with a small smile. "Maybe he won't run away this time."
Scene shifts to Genos getting ready before looking at the only door being triple sealed.
"But since you seriously pissed me off, I'm gonna annihilate you!" he declared, a second horn growing out of his back before the scene shifted to Saitama just staring with a semi-serious look, then to Kabuto smashing his foot into the floor.
"CARNAGE MODE!"
Scene shows Carnage Kabuto at a height that towers over the three others in the room, his skin a deep purple with green veins everywhere. The whole room then turns red, which changed his color to blue.
"When I get like this, I lose control for a whole week, and my lust for death cannot be quelled! After I kill you, I'll head into town! Once I'm there, I'll go on a bloody killing rampage until next Saturday!"
Scene shifts to Saitama looking shocked, his eyes wide.
"What's wrong? Getting cold feet, Baldy?" Tatsumaki asked with a small smile.
"I don't know. I'm not there." he answered, making her sigh.
Scene shifts to Kabuto stomping into the floor again while pointing at Saitama.
"If you really are a strong hero, THEN TRY AND STOP ME!" he challenged before the scene shifted to a close-up of Saitama's freaked out eye. "AAAAAAAAAAARGGGHHH!" Kabuto screeched, sounding like the few bits of sanity he had finally snapped.
"Good! Back to the fighting!" Metal Bat yelled, still pissed about Saitama's training regimen.
Scene shows Kabuto's fist inches from Saitama's face before it shifts again, showing the monster punching Saitama away with enough force to smash and wreck a good portion of the wall, making him bounce off of it as well.
'No way! It can't be!' Saitama thought before Kabuto appeared again, smashing his fist into Saitama again before spinning around and flinging him away once more, his body smashing about against the walls and floor like a ball.
If not for the fact that the audience was still upset about Saitama's earlier explanation, a lot of them would be a little worried about seeing the baldy smacked around worrisome. Right now? It was extremely therapeutic.
"Master?!" Genos muttered, worried about Saitama as he was being sent all over the room.
'Dammit. I may have inadvertently made a horrible mistake.'
Scene shows Kabuto coming in from above before smashing both his feet into Saitama, sending a shockwave through the room and busting up more of the floor.
"With the power and speed he's exhibiting, I think he may have reached threat level Dragon." Bofoi theorized.
"Whatever. He'd still be no match for me." Tornado boasted.
'This guy's in Carnage Mode, and he said he'll be on a rampage for a whole week?'
Scene show's Saitama floating for a moment before Kabuto appears before him. He then starts to deliver an endless barrage of high-speed punches while Saitama throws his arms up to block it.
"DIE! DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE!" the monster roared as he punched away before the scene shifts to Genus, then back to Saitama just after Kabuto was finished.
"I think he wants you dead." said Pig God, making a few of them laugh.
'So he'd be like this through next Saturday. One whole week from today.' Saitama thought as Kabuto flung him towards the ceiling with his horn before jumping past him and bouncing off the roof and heading towards Saitama. 'Next Saturday.'
"What could possibly be running through your mind that's got you sounding so bothered? Is there something special about Saturday?" Child Emperor asked.
"Not particularly." Saitama answered.
'In other words, he's saying today is Saturday too. That means...'
Scene shifts to Kabuto's fist flying towards Saitama, ready to finish him off.
'It's all over. There's no one in this world who can stop my glorious creation.' thought Genus as the scene shifted to him smiling up at what he expects to be Saitama's death.
"That's what he thinks." Atomic Samurai smirked.
'That means...today is...BARGAIN DAY AT THE SUPERMARKET!'
Scene shows Saitama punching Kabuto into pieces, causing blood and gore to go everywhere while he had this look of anger/anguish on his face.
"All that time you were tossed about thrashed by Kabuto, and the only thing you could think about was missing a sale?!" Fubuki asked in outrage.
"I missed a sale?!" Saitama asked in horror, completely missing what she just said.
'This guy's hopeless.' a lot of them thought.
"Who cares?! HE DID IT! HE BEAT HIM!" Tareo cheered with a smile.
Scene shows Genus staring up in shock as his greatest creation was destroyed in an instant before shifting back to Saitama, who was now on his knees and clutching his head while screaming as if in pain.
'Who the hell is this guy?!'
"I SCREWED UUUUUPPPPP!" Saitama wailed at the top of his lungs.
'What is he talking about?!' Genus thought, completely lost.
"I believe," Genos began, gaining Genus's attention as he held up a piece of paper. "He is upset because he is missing this."
Scene shows Genus holding a flyer for a huge sale for Saturday only.
"NO WAY!" Saitama shouted, making a few of them jump. "ALL THAT FOR THOSE PRICES?! AND I MISS IT?!"
"Will you shut up, you dumb egghead?! It hasn't happened yet, remember?!" Tornado snapped.
"It hasn't?! Oh yeah!" Saitama said with a smile.
"I shall write down a reminder to check for the sale on all upcoming Saturdays, Master Saitama." Genos informed him as he wrote in his notebook.
"Alright. Thanks Genos." Saitama nodded.
"All this because of a sale." Bang muttered before chuckling. Saitama was truly a humorous enigma.
"Master. The store closes at 10 o'clock P.M. That is about four hours from now. If we really hurry, we can still make it." Genos informed his bald sensei, making him quickly jump to his feet in surprise.
"Wait! So you're saying there's still a chance?!" Saitama asked in a hopeful tone.
"Right!"
"LET'S GO, GENOS!" Saitama ordered as he ran towards the far wall.
"YES MASTER!" Genos obeyed while running after him, leaving an utterly gobsmacked Genus to simply watch, his glasses sliding down his face a little.
"You're just leaving him after all he tried to do?" Zombieman asked, a vein appearing on his forehead.
"I agree that he should pay for what he tried to do, but look at him." PPP said. "The poor man's had his life's work destroyed before him."
'I think I'm finished dabbling with evolution.' Genus thought before a massive explosion made his eyes widen ever further than they were. Scene then shifts to show the giant hole Saitama punched through the wall, allowing him to see the sunset. 'It would appear...I'm the one who must change.' Scene shifts to him sucking up the snot hanging in his nose before smiling, the snot returning a moment later.
"So after all those decades of research, a single show of Saitama's strength has made him abandon his path to replace humanity with his horrible abominations." said Bang.
"Isn't that a good thing?" Tareo asked. "Maybe he can use his mind to do something else now. Something good."
"That all depends on him." Sekingar stated. "In any case, we know what else we need to be on the lookout for in the future."
"Yeah. And I can stop them from wrecking my ceiling and making me late for the sale." Saitama spoke up.
"Would you forget about the sale?" Metal Bat grunted.
Scene appears again, showing the area that Genos burned earlier being investigated by various people.
"Yes. The on-site investigation is underway...Yes, that's correct." said a man as the scene changed to someone attempting to pick up a piece of charred rubble, only to have it disintegrate in their fingers, leaving a black smudge on their hand.
"Like the other cases, the area has been thoroughly burnt by intenses flames." the man continued as the scene showed the hand belonging to the Bespectacled Worker.
"Now you guys show up? The sun was setting when those two idiots left. How long did it take you morons to get off your asses and get there?!" Tornado asked, angered at their, in her opinion, absolute incompetence.
"Currently, we're still trying to pinpoint their location." an executive answered. All Tornado did was huff before turning back to the screen.
"Everything we've seen points to the young cyborg as the one who's responsible. Yes. Got it." the Bearded Worker said into his phone before hanging up and putting it away. "Look at this. Such devastating power." he said as he and the Bespectacled Worker looked at the area that was once the House of Evolution.
"Yeah."
"You have been investigating me?" Genos asked the members of the Hero Association.
"Indeed. It's hard not to miss with all the destruction you leave in your wake." Sitch answered.
"Those are the results of me fighting against evil wherever I go." Genos explained.
"Yes. We've seen that." an executive spoke up.
"Do you have something against me that would require an investigation?" Genos asked while giving them a glare.
"Unfortunately, we cannot explain why for certain reasons." Sekingar stated. "However, our actions are not malevolent."
"I see." Genos said before writing something in his notebook. "If that is all, then I wish to see what happens next."
"Indeed. This is becoming quite interesting." said Bang.
"I'm still trying to understand Saitama's training." Drive Knight said.
"You're not the only one." Fubuki muttered while flipping the puzzle piece in her hands.
"All will be explained in due time." Zack told them.
