Her fingers were still trembling, even her eyelashes were quivering.
She dialed Cora Jorney's number and made the call: "Mom."
On the other end, Cora sounded hurried.
"What's wrong?"
"Mom, how much do Dad's medical expenses cost per day?"
"Three hundred thousand a week."
"Is it really that hard for us to afford it? Is the company's situation still this bad?"
Cora didn't want her to worry and said calmly, "It's nothing, just some cash flow difficulties, there's a temporary shortage of liquid funds, that's all."
"Then I'll help you borrow money. Return what we owe Jesse Rowan." Joan Harry suppressed her emotions, her tone also steady.
"What's the big idea? Jesse lent us money, didn't he? Isn't that good enough? It's not like it's a loan shark, so why are you even bothered!" Cora scolded her, "You don't need to worry about the family matters. Just focus on your work."
"Is Dad's condition serious? Does he still need a lot of medical expenses?"
