Chapter 9 - Byakugan training and Shadow Clone

Once home, I got changed and ate with my parents. After we finished eating and cleaning the table, I asked my dad if he could teach me how to awaken the Byakugan.

"I guess, I thought you wouldn't remember a promise I made to you when you were little," he said with a defeated expression.

I just smiled the whole way to the training room. Before we got to the training room, he got a scroll from the study room.

"Here, this scroll contains all the information about the tenketsu in our body. To awaken the Byakugan, you need to have good chakra control and know how to release your chakra through the tenketsu on your eyes." Jin said while handing me the scroll.

"The Hyugas have an advantage other shinobi don't; we can release chakra from every tenketsu point in our body, unlike non-Hyugas, who can release it only on the feet and hands. With this ability of ours, we have created unique techniques, not even the Uchiha can copy." He continued explaining.

"First, to get started on the training of the Byakugan, we need to improve your chakra control to the point where you can control it with no problem. To pass this test, you need to master the tree-climbing technique." He said while demonstrating it by walking on the wall of the training room.

"Once you get this technique down, you can start feeling your chakra and try to release the chakra on another part of your body that isn't the soles of your feet. Once you feel comfortable using your chakra on any part of your body, we can move to your eyes. You don't want to start on your eyes, just in case you use too much chakra and damage your eyes. There have been cases where people completely lose the ability to awaken the Byakugan because they used too much chakra, destroying the tenketsu on their eyes," He said while putting more chakra into his feet, ultimately breaking the wall.

"Of course, those people who damaged their eyes were the ones who didn't master the tree climbing technique and immediately tried to open the tenketsu in their eyes," he said while getting down and sitting in front of me. "Care to give it a try?" he finished his explanation by motioning me to the wall with a grin.

"But, won't I fall if I go up the wall?" I said with a timid voice as if I was scared of the fall.

"We'll never know if you don't try. Besides, it's not as if you are falling from a tower," he said while waiting for me to get started.

"How long did it take you to go up the wall?" I asked with a curious expression on my face.

"About a day," Jin said with a proud expression.

"What!!!" I yelled, "Why did it take you so long just to go up a wall?" I said with my mouth wide open.

"LONG!? What do you think, that the tree climbing technique is easy?" he said, a little agitated by being ridiculed by his son.

"I bet I can go up the wall and stay there for at least an hour," I said with a grin.

"Haha, well that's a bet then!" my father said with a cheeky expression.

"Okay, don't go back on your words that you just lost a bet," I said with a big smile on my face while walking up the wall.

When Jin saw me walking up the wall with ease, he was shocked. I could see his eyes almost popping out.

"Kira, have you done this before?" he said in disbelief.

"I sure have. I've already mastered the tree-climbing technique, be ready to pay up, Dad," I said with a laugh.

"This doesn't count; the bet was about to see how long it took you to go up the wall," Jin said.

"No, the bet was that I could climb the wall and be here for one minute," I said while nodding my head.

My father just smacked his forehead while sighing, "Okay, but you still need to be there for an hour," he said.

After 40 minutes of waiting, Jin knew that I had won the bet.

"Dad, I want a chakra induction paper," I said while standing on the wall.

"Son, I know it won't take you long to awaken the Byakugan; there's no point in learning any of that," Jin said.

"Dad, I want to learn my nature affinities and learn jutsus, it's better to know how to use jutsus and not need them, than needing them and not knowing them," I finally said.

It seems that Jin agreed with me since he didn't say anything else. After an hour had passed, I went and sat down with Jin. He started by explaining the basics of how to use chakra in any tenketsu point. Jin activated his Byakugan and started to mark points around my body. He said that's where my tenketsu were located and that I had to focus on getting my chakra through those points he marked down.

We spent the whole afternoon practicing. At the end of the practice, I had made huge progress.

The next day in class, I sat down in my usual seat. I noticed Itachi walking up to me and taking the seat next to me, and sat down. At the end of the class, Itachi told me to follow him, and we went to an isolated part of a forest.

"As promised, I'll teach you one jutsu," Itachi said.

"Hmm, I want the Shadow Clone Jutsu," I said while nodding my head.

"Do you know the dangers of this Jutsu?" He asked with some concern.

"Yes, I also know of the benefits it has," I said with no expression on my face.

After a moment, Itachi explained to me the details of the shadow clone jutsu, as well as the hand signs associated with it.

Once Itachi finished explaining everything to it, he went through the hand signs and what I should be doing with my chakra at the moment of each chakra. He ended everything by doing the shadow clone technique.

After he finished demonstrating the shadow clone technique, I went into a meditative trance, where I went over the jutsu in my head and everything he said. Once I was ready, I went over the hand sign slowly. Once I got the hang of everything, I started to do it.

Suddenly, there was an exact copy of me standing next to me. I was surprised and started to observe my clone. After a while, I sent my clone to the forest and told him to draw something and then disappear.

Once my clone went running to the forest, Itachi started talking, "Do you want to train with me? You can help train in taijutsu, while I can help you with shuriken practice," he said.

"Okay," I simply replied, since memories of my clone sketching a V on a tree suddenly came to my mind.
