Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Awakening: Support Class

"Support-Class, Healing Type."

After Mr. Hanz announced Gabriel's class, murmurs rippled through the classroom.

"Oh, that's a shame..."

"Hahaha, I can't believe it!"

"Our top scorer, really a support-class?"

At the same time, in the shadows of the classroom, a tall, dark figure stood quietly. He wasn't particularly handsome, but he exuded an air of power and authority that commanded attention. Surrounding him were his henchmen, who basked in his presence.

One of the henchmen couldn't contain his laughter. "Hahaha, Boss, did you see that? Your rival is nothing but a support type!" he exclaimed, his voice dripping with mockery. The rest of the henchmen chuckled, clearly amused by the situation.

"I see it," Tigram said, grinning widely.

"Karma's a bitch, isn't it? Now he's stuck with a support class. He can't level up on his own—not unless he has a party. Oh, Gabriel, it's my time to shine now. I'll make sure I take the number one spot in the upcoming assessment," Tigram muttered to himself, his grin widening with every word.

Gabriel stood frozen as the students below began to whisper among themselves. But before he could react, Mr. Hanz, their teacher, interrupted with a loud voice. "Everyone, be quiet!" he commanded. "Let's finish the awakening ritual and get ready for the next one." The room fell silent as Mr. Hanz continued, "We still have a lot to cover today, so let's stay focused. Next..."

Gabriel had just finished his awakening ceremony and was descending from the podium. As he walked down, he was lost in deep thought.

In the gaming world, healers are a crucial class, highly sought after for their ability to keep the party alive during battles, remove debuffs, and even revive the fallen. The healing-type support class is one of the most popular and respected roles in any team.

However, in the real world, these abilities only become crucial at higher levels, where monsters deal significant damage and are harder to kill. In the early stages of awakening, all power levels are similar, and combat power is relatively low. The experience required to level up is also steep, making it challenging for beginner Orions to advance quickly.

Due to this, most prefer to grind solo or form parties with other fighter classes or control-type supports to maximize their kills and speed up their leveling. Potions suffice for healing at this stage, making healers less essential early on.

This situation makes it even more difficult for healing-type supports to level up. Many would rather grind alone than share experience with a healer. Thus, healing supports often face the daunting task of leveling up on their own.

...

Support classes are typically divided into three distinct categories.

The first is the Healer Type, which focuses on keeping party members alive. Healers constantly monitor the health bars of their teammates, ensuring no one falls in battle. They have access to a variety of healing spells and abilities that can restore the health of their allies during combat.

The second category is the Control Type, which differs from the Healer Type. These support characters focus on debuffing the enemy team—slowing their movement, lowering their defense, or causing confusion or stuns. The main goal of the Control Type is to limit enemy actions, allowing the Tanker to take less damage or avoid it altogether.

The third category is the Praise Type, similar to the Control Type but with an opposite role. Instead of debuffing enemies, they cast buffs on teammates, enhancing base stats, immunity, defense, health, attack power, movement speed, and more. These characters focus on boosting the abilities of their party members, helping them perform better in battle.

Overall, each of these support classes brings something unique to the table and is a valuable addition to any party. Whether you need healing, control, or buffs, there's a support class that can help you achieve your goals.

...

Gabriel was taken aback by the unexpected news he had just received.

"I didn't expect to awaken as a support-class," he muttered to himself, still processing the information.

Despite his surprise, Gabriel managed to remain composed as he returned to his seat. He planned to review his status carefully, examining each detail to ensure he was prepared for whatever lay ahead.

As he approached his chair, his eyes widened with a mix of amazement and disbelief. But before he could even sit down, a wave of excitement surged through him, causing his hand to tremble uncontrollably.

It was a feeling unlike anything he had ever experienced—a sense of overwhelming joy that consumed his entire being. He couldn't help but wonder if what he was seeing was real or just a figment of his imagination.

As he stood there, absorbing the moment, Gabriel realized that this experience would be etched in his memory forever.
