The captain didn't answer.
His eyes never left Xun Wei.
"…You're Xun Wei," he said at last. Not a question. A statement.
Silence.
Xun Wei didn't deny it. Didn't confirm it. But her body halted for a moment, that was enough.
The mother's breath caught.
"Xun… Wei" she murmured, the name stirring something old and buried. Her cold hands trembled before gripping her husband's sleeve.
Realization struck.
'That name is… Could she be—' she thought.
Her reaction didn't escape the Captain. He knew she was a member of the Xun Clan too, but till now, they had believed there to be no survivors.
The Captain sighed. "So… it seems the past has finally caught up to the present."
"…You're Xun Wei," he said at last. Not a question. A statement.
Silence followed.
Xun Wei neither denied nor confirmed it—but her body stilled for the briefest instant.
That was answer enough.
