LEROY JOHN COLLINS UNIVERSITY
~Present Time~
I scurried toward the building, praying I would arrive on time. The bell rang just the moment I entered the audio room.
'That was close!'
I sighed with relief after beating the bell. However, I wasn't completely safe…
"Chelsca! Where have you been?"
Anna shot me a question the moment I reached my seat. She was giving me a teasing stare.
"Why do you ask? You knew already." I replied in a hushed tone into Anna's ear. Then, the latter giggled, hearing that.
"So, how's your weekend, lady?"
Below me, Lydia tilted her head and glanced over her shoulder to gossip with us. She winked at me meaningfully.
I merely rolled my eyes. Realization just dawned on me that my friends were actually traitors and bitches.
Seeing my frown on display, the three girls surrounding me, including my childhood friend May Lin, giggled.
"Did you enjoy our birthday present?"
Keida chimed in on the conversation. She was seated above us. I heard she's the mastermind behind selling me off at the Auction Club.
She winked at me, anticipating my reply.
I turned my head and looked at one of my bitches, rolling my eyes seeing that grin on her lips.
"I can't believe all of you are actually my friends! I felt bullied!"
I stressed, but I shut my mouth halfway. Our professor was already standing at the podium and began discussing our lesson without greeting the class.
The professor is known that way anyway. Thus, we settled down, faced the front, and gazed at the monitor.
After a couple of hours, our first class finally ended, so my friends started teasing me again.
"Hurry, tell us what happened!"
Anna rushed to my side, put an arm around my waist, which was aching slightly, and asked me excitedly.
"Stop! I don't want to talk about it! I have my next class! See you guys later, okay?!"
I didn't let them get a piece of me. Nothing I want at this moment is to escape from my friends. Otherwise, they will never stop teasing me if I stay longer.
I fled before everyone noticed, trailing the pathways without caring about my surroundings. I have no interest in checking out everyone's faces.
Well, many famous scions and heiresses enrolled at Leroy University. Thus, several daughters and sons from ordinary families came hoping to date a wealthy heir.
And I am not interested in any of that. I don't care about those popular men at the University or those rich girls who change cars and expensive purses now and then, not to mention wear designer clothes each day as if having a fashion show in the hallways.
I only cared about one thing: not bumping into someone in the hallway or the campus pathway.
The soccer team or the rugby boys thought they owned the school grounds, including the basketball team.
However, I only roll my eyes behind these glasses, unimpressed by those muscles.
Yeah. That's me—the ordinary girl on the campus.
I wore baggy clothes, cheap shoes, books around my arms, messy hair, and thick glasses on my face.
But this isn't a Cinderella Story.
~
A few months ago...
I watched my steps pass through the Rugby teams.
These crazy men were playing "balls" on the Kiosk ground again as if they owned it.
I kept rolling my eyes behind these thick glasses, covered by my curly bangs.
The University was extensive, but these men played where people usually walked to access the next buildings.
It was still a wonder to me that, whichever part of this campus, these athletes from different sports clubs hang out on every corner of the University... Either the basketball team or the Football team, the Soccer team, and the hockey team name it all, their asses are all over the pathways and corridors!
Watching them momentarily, I heaved a long sigh. I must decide quickly whether to detour to avoid bumping into many students on the trail.
Therefore, I made a U-turn at the next corner, which was a mistake because I almost bumped into a giant old tree.
I hurried to walk around, and it was too late to realize that a man was standing there, facing his back to me.
It is too late for me to stop in my tracks.
I could only close my eyes, anticipating the impact on his back. Upon having contact with him, I felt how sturdy his body was.
But it's just a few seconds because I was thrown to the ground almost immediately with my arse pressing down.
"Ouch," I groaned with pain.
"What are you doing!?"
The guy shot me with a sidelong glance.
I frowned upon recognizing him. Of all people, I don't want to bump into someone from the Collins. But I was unlucky today.
The Collins family was hailed as the royalty of this University.
They act like the Gods of Olympus, good-looking as Hermes, the successor of great Adonis, and descendants of Hercules and Apollo.
As I was fuming in annoyance, I was glued to the ground for a while and remained staring at that annoyingly handsome face, the arrogant guy, none other than Lewey Collins, was there.
The most unfriendly Collins of all!
The guy simply walked away without helping me to stand on my feet!
"That arrogant bastard!" I sneered under my breath and screamed inwardly.
I looked around to survey my surroundings, wondering if anyone saw that. Few eyes were indeed glancing over me. I felt humiliated to be abandoned like that.
I was embarrassed and frustration resurfaced in my chest at the way that guy acted.
'Well, what must I expect from him?'
"Oh yeah, Mr. Prince Collins, the young master... The arrogant heir of the Collins Empire. A jerk, Rugby!"
'blah blah blah…' said my inner thoughts.
I found myself cursing the guy nonstop in my head. I was seething in anger, cleaning up my bottom and gathering my things scattered on the ground afterward.
I heard girls giggle ten meters away. I did not spare them a glance, so I just walked away and ignored their gossip.
Another flavor of the day, she was sure of that. She'll bet her soul on that.
