EIRA'S POV
"Get up, Eira!"
"Eira! Get up!!! The whole day you just study or stay locked in your room."
"Eira!!! Today you have to come out of your room."
"Eira! How can you miss the College Annual Fest?"
"Please… just let me stay," I muttered, swaddling myself deeper into the blanket.
"No!!! We are going there," Tessy said firmly, tugging at the blanket.
"NO!" I yanked it over my head, burying myself.
"Eira, it's been six months since that incident and—"
Before she could finish, I sat up abruptly.
"I… I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it like that," she whispered.
"I don't want to talk about it." I escaped into the washroom before my voice broke.
From the other side of the door, her words came muffled but urgent."Eira, you need to forget him. He was arrogant. Forget him. Please, don't let him destroy your life. I'll wait for you downstairs. Please, come… for me."
I slid down against the door, curling my knees to my chest. My eyes shut tight, but the tears still found their way down. Six months. Six whole months—and still, I can't forget.
I never saw Adrain again. Not him, not his family. It was as though they vanished—like they had never existed at all.
After that day, everyone bullied me. But Tessy—Tessy fought for me, stood beside me. She was right.
"I won't think about you, Adrain," I whispered to myself, forcing strength into my voice as I rose.
I dressed in a magenta gown and walked downstairs.
"Tessy!! Wait!" I called, spotting her leaving with her head lowered.
Her face lit up instantly, and she rushed back to hug me tightly."Thanks a lot, Eira!!"
"I… I can't breathe," I wheezed, making her laugh through her tears.
"Wow… the college looks so beautiful tonight."
"Tessy! The coordinator list is missing!"
"Eira, you go inside—I'll give this idiot the list," Tessy said, rushing off with Mishel.
I lingered near the entrance, a strange unease prickling at me. Something feels… wrong.
"Wait! Who called the trash here?"
The voice stabbed from behind. Victoria. Her expensive black dress shimmered under the lights, but her smirk was uglier than ever.
"I can't believe you dared to show up here. Wait—don't tell me you're still searching for—"
"AAAAAA!!! SNAKE!!!" she suddenly shrieked, hopping wildly.
"Oops, sorry, it fell on you," Tessy laughed, picking up a rubber snake.
The crowd roared with laughter.
"You!!!" Victoria seethed, her face crimson.
"Next time you say one word about my friend, I'll throw a real snake on you," Tessy snapped, grabbing my hand and pulling me away.
An hour later, the lecture ended. The music blared, and the crowd erupted into cheers.
"Eira! Let's dance!" Tessy beamed.
"No, please, Tessy. Let me sit here."
"Eira, come on!"
"Please, Tessy. You go. Enjoy."
She sighed. "Fine. But call me if you need anything."
I nodded. But the feeling gnawed at me stronger now. Something was wrong.
Maybe… maybe I should just go home.
"Tessy!! Tessy!!!" I called, but the music drowned my voice. She was lost in the crowd, dancing.
I'll go myself…
NO ONE'S POV
"Finally. The day I've been waiting for has come."
A man in a black hoodie smirked, loosening the massive pillar staples one by one.
"I'm back, Miss Eira Banes." His voice slithered in the dark.
"Today, you'll pay the price."
The last staple clattered to the ground.
"Peter Dawson is back."
ADRAIN'S POV
Eira…
She looked so beautiful in that magenta dress, walking down the aisle of the college. But then—
The pillar. NO!
"EIRA!!!"
I shot up from the sofa, chest heaving. No. It wasn't a dream. Something was wrong. Something was happening.
"Eira… I need to go to her."
I clutched the locket she gave me, my hands trembling, and strode toward the door at vampire speed.
"Where are you going?" a voice cut through the hall. Mike.
"I need to go," I growled, barely holding back the storm in me.
"That's not an answer."
"Don't try to be my real father," I snapped.
"I won't, if you stop behaving like a human."
"Go inside!!!"
My fury boiled. I stormed back into my room, slammed the door shut, and hurled the sofa against the wall.
"Nothing can stop me. Please… wait for me," I whispered to the locket.
I hung it around my neck, the cold metal burning against my skin.
"I'm coming, Eira."
Without hesitation, I leapt out the window into the night.EIRA'S POV
