One of the best ways to earn/save a sizeable sum, is to avoid lifestyle inflation. Just because your salary went up a bit, it does not mean you should spend more money. At the same time, if you spend more than you make, you're in an extremely dangerous situation. Either decrease your costs or increase your income.
Decreasing would be going for extremely cheap homemade meals and meal prepping. Don't eat out, don't waste money on fun and pleasure. That can wait until you fix your situation. Increasing income is as simple as applying for higher paying jobs and in the meantime getting a second or third jobs to make ends meet.
