The reason being is that not five minutes into the walk to the nearest town he as attacked by a slightly cut black body yellow-eyed monster that suddenly appeared from a shadow of a nearby tree. At first, Nathen was stunned at the sudden appearance of the beast but suddenly like a million guns going off in his head he finally figured it out what was bothering him, and he remembered why it all sounded so familiar to him. That little thing was a heartless more exactly a shadow the lowest form but most common of heartless. It is precisely this lowly form of minion that sent Nathen running for his life as fast as he could. Because wall Nathen was putting this all together the shadow jumped and clawed at his arm realizing that he was in a bad spot and for some reason heard warning bells in his head Nathen ran luckily with his time served in the military as a surgeon he thanked his lucky stars the army made him stay in shape. So he managed to get away just in time.
